No BS Hockey League (NBHL) [EHM 2005]

Post by vilifyingforce »

In other news we're starting a new EHM05 league. The NBHL is in it's infancy currently. The DB is being updated and tweaked. We're hoping with Stinson's recent enjoyment of the online experience we can recruit a few more of you knowledgeable members looking to challenge yourselves and expand the online community here at the TBL.

...Does one person just relay all the info to everybody else or something? I know in the NBHL everybody logs into the game and changes everything themselves...BTW we're looking for one GM. Recently Getzlaf15 has gotten the online bite and seems to be enjoying himself. So lets change another mind! :P

Another situation has changed so we're looking for another GM. Possible teams are the Blues and the Flyers.

No BS Hockey League (NBHL) [EHM 2005]

Post by rk2k3 »

Howdy folks,

I thought it would be a good idea to inform you of the NBHL, as I feel some may be wondering what the NBHL is all about.

The NB was a new league started this summer by four veteran GMs (who are/have been in DM at some point). Hence, the league is well run by an experienced team (Drew, Wil, and Jason) in a team based approach.

The NBHL provides newcomers with a different feel than the DM, a league which is in its second season just into the playoffs. The league has governed a fixed set of rules aimed to ensure proper GM etiquette and means to emulate realism as best as possible. The league is extremely active, with new GMs joining on an ongoing basis (and with plenty of trades too :)). It's a fun, dynamic league with plenty of excitment for folks who want to begin EHM fresh with all your fan favourite players in the NHL today.

I will try and post continual updates for the league as it progresses, but I hope a representive from the NB will take on the role here at TBL :).

For more information, please check out the NB forums at:

I'm sure it won't be a problem. And of course we have links on each other's forums guiding us between the DM/NB/TBL.

Oh for sure, I just thought the NB could use it's own identity on here along with DM so prospective TBL members/guests can get a glimpse of the current online community in detail (certainly cannot hurt, right? :)).

To anyone who may be interested in joining. I'd highly recommend it...

In the short space of time that i have been in the NBHL it's been great. Before i joined in i was very apprehensive about joining the league as i thought it would be very time consuming and i never really thought itd be improving on the game as it was already (offline)... But since taking over the lowly Edmonton Oilers (who if i remember were last when i took over) a couple of months back. I've began to rebuild my team. It's much more realistic than offline as there are 29 other GM's looking to get the best deal for 1 of your players... One of the greatest things about online play is the Live Sim's. The people that take part in sims are extremely friendly and theres always a lot of banter between us. :-D And even if you can't make the sim's, it takes very little time a day to change your roster for your next set of games.

The 2 teams that are available are Montreal, whom finished 8th in their conference last year and St. Louis, who despite finishing nearly bottom of the entire league, made some key moves in the latter part of the year.

So i'd just like to add in my personal experience and i hope to see some of your joining online EHM soon. :-D

Here is a quick update on the NBHL for those who are intersted in joining...

We recently completed our second season and the cup went to the Anaheim Ducks, who fell short in game 7 in our first season.

Following the Stanley Cup playoffs is the day that everyone who plays EHM Online lives for...the NHL Entry Draft. This year the draft was a lot deeper than most 1st round drafts, and there was not a huge difference from 10th overall to 35th overall...

Draft Results

Team.............................Player........(ISS Rank)

1 Rangers.......................Karl Alzner (1)
2 Kings..........................Thomas Hickey (6)
3 Leafs...........................Kyle Turris (8)
4 Panthers......................Oscar Moller (7)
5 Canucks......................Jakub Voracek (5)
6 Oilers..........................James Van Reimsdyk (15)
7 Islanders......................Joakim Andersson (2)
8 Oilers ..........................Keaton Ellerby (11)
9 Canadiens ....................Patrick Kane (14)
10 Devils.........................Ian Cole (29)
11 Hurricanes.................Mikael Backlund (10)
12 Wild..........................Colton Gilles (19)
13 Avalanche..................Max Pacioretty (43)
14 Penguins....................Brandon Sutter (11)
15 Bruins .......................James O'Brien (45)
16 Wings........................Sam Gagner (38)
17 Blue Jackets..............Angelo Esposito (3)
18 Kings .......................Drayson Bowman (28)
19 Panthers....................Michael Repik (24)
20 Devils .......................Kevin Shattenkirk (34)
21 Leafs ........................Logan Couture (21)
22 Senators....................Ryan Kerr (69)
23 Coyotes....................Zach Hamill (4)
24 Panthers....................Nick Petricki (33)
25 Leafs ........................Eric Tangradi (23)
26 Bruins .......................Tommy Cross (51)
27 Wings........................Ryan McDonagh (27)
28 Oilers ........................Lars Eller (20)
29 Hurricanes ................Bill Sweatt (40)
30 Blues ........................Colby Cohen (46)

You will notice that many of these names are not normally found on the 2005 database, even some are not found on the 2007 database. We have updated the database to present day, so tones of NHL players have been upgraded, while we have added 100's of prospects from Fabian Brunnstrom all the way to Taylor Hall and Victor Hedman.

We are about to start training camp and hope to kick it off the third season with a Live sim hopefully Monday night.

If you like what you see, and think you can compete with the best sign up @ http://s1.zetaboards.com/NBHL/topic/1693808/1/

You will love the community, with a great mix of Canadians, Americans and a number of Euro's from a bunch of different countries.

End of October 2007 now. The Anaheim Ducks need a GM. They lost in the SC finals in Season 1 in game 7 to a dominant Flyers squad and won it all last season. They have tons of talent.

Anaheim Ducks Vacancy!

Post by getzlaf15 »

The NBHL are currently looking to recruit a new Anaheim Ducks GM!

The Ducks have been having some high times lately. After winning the cup in the 2007. The Ducks are still searching for another shot at the promised land! With a young and talented roster, many feel that won't be far away!

The Ducks' hugely talented roster begins in the goal, with one of the best tandems in the league, which features quite possibly the best goaltending prospect around. In Cristobal Huet, they have a solid, but aging starter who may not have too long left. Waiting in the wings is Ondrej Pavelec, who may even be ready to step up right away!

Possibly the Ducks' best asset is their Defense. After making some drastic changes recently, their new Defense looks set for years to come. In Dan Boyle and Wade Redden, they have 2 of the best veteran D-men around. On the other hand, they have Alex Pietrangelo and Niklas Hjalmarsson to carry the team for years to come!

It doesn't stop at that in terms of immense talent... The Ducks' offense has been shaken drastically. With the depatures of Ryan Getzlaf, Bobby Ryan and Corey Perry brought 3 new faces to the team... A top 6 of Rick Nash, Olli Jokinen, J.P. Dumont, Nikita Filatov, Kyle Turris and Alex Ponikarovsky, the Ducks have a plethora of talent all over their roster!

If you're interseted in taking over the Ducks, head on over to the NBHL homepage and sign up. :-D

NBHL Has two spots open. Carolina and Buffalo. Lina has sold the farm but has AO and Sid the kid. Think you can keep it together with these two superstars?

very fun leauge

i am currently in it since 3 sesons back. we are at end of seson 3 and got 2 teams open.

NBHL uses updated roosters so all players in real NHL are in the leauge no regens or fantasy drafts. draft 2010 is hall and seguin and so on.

The core of the GM s been playing online for several years and can be quite tough to bargain and trade with. Its highly challanging and very fun in the long run. We do live sims north american afternoons or late euro evenings almost everyday. Currently Islanders and Blue jackets need a GM to drive em to succes.

Jackets got Berard,Nash, Bertuzzi,Zherdev and veterans Foote and Fedorov with a nice crop of young players coming up Brule,Pickard,Fritche,Leclaire,Petrecki. Jackets is qualified for playoff and are strenght wise at least an mid team.

Islanders got Bergeron, DiPietro, Regher, fisher. York, Sturm and Jokinen. Islanders got a stronger team but less talent and picks then Jackets.

Come join us and sign up for a team
