The main problem for them is that the Ducks have their pick which at the moment gives them 2nd and 8th overall. :-D

Beyond that, i don't have the foggiest Batman. Maybe this Carter/Hartnell/Hartnells wife love triangle really has divided the team so much. :dunno:

I have a source that says that is completely untrue (fairly reliable guy from another site I know a bit, who knows a few guys here and there). Nothing Hartnell-Carter related. More like Richards-Pronger issues. And no...not Pronger involved with anyone, nor was his wife seeking revenge. Just a Type A battle.

Yeah I usually always want to as well. However I love the Dane Cook rendition of The Price is Right.

So the Caps drop Jurcina and Clark to CLB for Chimera. The trade sounds weird to my ears, maybe just to save some cap? So who's gonna be the new captain of the Capitals? I don't think Ovy is ready for that.

I just saw the CBJ-Caps trade and I agree with philou, just sounds weird. The Caps get some breathing space cap-wise, but what does this give the Jackets? Leadership and another middling defenseman? One of the guys on Versus quoted Howson as saying they needed a top four d-man, but Jurcina is not a top 4 guy (I would agree) so maybe another deal in the making? But other than financially, this deal doesn't make a lot of sense for either team.

I think Caps next captain is Tom Poti or Mike Knuble. Ovie's not a captain.

Maybe the jackets will be going after Schneider since he wants out of van so he can get more icetime.

Or that Alex "purple t-shirt" Semin :-D
On Capitals web page, Ovechkin leads fans poll for the next captain.

Hopefully Caps don't take those polls seriously. I don't want to see Ovie with C, Caps have better captain candidates.

Knuble for captain? Only way I would endorse Ovie for captain is if it's what the players wanted. They hopefully will go by a team vote.

He has a lots of NHL-experience. My own favourite is Tom Poti, Ovie and Knuble would be alternatives.

Ovie will be the captain. No question in my mind. He is the face of the franchise. I mean, other than die hard hockey fans who the heck would have thought Chris Clark was their captain.

IMHO--Caps made a HORRIBLE trade. Clark is a great character guy. Chimera is fast. End of story.

At 40 I wouldn't call Schneids a top-4 d-man either. Plus, I don't see Howson dealing for an old player like this. His trade style leans heavily towards young 2nd tier talent :D

Certainly, being the face of the franchise and it's difference maker will go a long way. I'd protest more if they had a stronger vet who'd make a better captain a la Dave Andreychuk.

Miroslav Satan goes to Bruins. That means that he will go to Olympics in ok condition.

Or maybe not, if Satan plays like last year, the most likely for him is to join the 4th line.

You can't put him to checking line, he is awful in defense. Better to use him in 1-2 lines and pp units or give him free tickets to Bruins games.

Considering how poor the Bruins are on the wings so far it is worth the gamble.
