This whole Ovechkin captain story makes me think that the only reason was they traded Clark was because they wanted Ovi to be captain. And it's just a nice way of stripping the captaincy to make way for Ovechkin.

Nope. 2 years ago George McPhee , Ovi and Clark were asked about the captaincy. Ovi said someday...McPhee wanted to give it to him back then. Ovi said no....I want to make my English better first. Clark took it and said he knew dang well he would be giving it up to Ovi one day. Guys make more out of this than need be. It was a trade of two guys to CBJ For a hardworking speedy winger. Notice something about the Caps Lots and lots of speed. period.

The transition of Ovi to captain has always been coming and the Caps and Clark always knew it. Clark knew he was just holding the C for Ovi. Ovi has always been their leader.

Enough from me: off to find another thread to tell Getzlaf he is wrong in...heh,.

I'll do one and start it off with a sentence. (I bet all my cash that batdad wins this argument) : Pat LaFontaine is the GM of 'Hawks. Do they win the cup?

No. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

The Hawks have already had enough brain dead people running their organization in the past. No way they hire Captain Concussion to do anything except hand out helmets to the disabled as they enter the rink. So becuase they don't hire La lal la la fontaine....they do win the cup. way before the loafs or ducks get it again.

Oh and Schremp can only score sick goals. Tell me when he scores on a play where he just stands in front of the net takes a few hits and bangs home a garbage rebound goal. that I would be interested in. He is such a pretty boy,

Phoenix Coyotes will retire Teppo Numminen's jersey at 30.1., when they play against New York Rangers. He will be 4th Coyotes/Jets player, whose number will be retired. Other 3 are Dale Hawerchuck, Bobby Hull and Thomas Steen.

In the NHL...the last guy to do it was Kovalchuk in November 07-08.

For the Canucks two guys have done it

1987-88 or something...Petri Skriko

1970s Bobby Schmautz

What is interesting is both those guys scored 4 goals in one of their two games. What is also interesting...the media asked Vigneault about Skriko last night and he laughed and said he had no idea who that was. :-D

One other interesting point...when are people going to stop talking about Alain Vigneault and the trap. Right now Vancouver is in the top 5 in goals for in the entire NHL and they have

1. The leading point guy in the NHL (H Sedin)
2. 3 guys in the top 25 in the NHL in goals (Burr, H Sedin, Raymond)
3. Daniel Sedin with 11 goals and he missed a bundle of games.
4. Kesler and Samuelsson with I think 12 goals
5. A top 5 power play in the NHL.
6. One of the top defensemen scorers in the NHL.

Trap my arse. These guys are run and gun :-D (joking about that)

This is one heck of a team right now...offensively and defensively. I wish the Nucks and Hawks had a game coming up RIGHT NOW.

He was Capitals scout in last season. I remember when he was commentator in Finnish tv at Canada's WC in 2009 and in one intermission he told about scouting. But i don't know what he's doing todays.

And about that hat-trick-record, Skriko score 3 hat-tricks in 8 days, and he was first Canuck named NHL Player Of The Month.

This may be a stupid question, but... If you throw your hat onto the ice after someone scores a hat trick. Do you get it back?
