It makes good sense.McQwak wrote:The next season will start with BOS-PHO double game in Prague!
Chara, Krejci, Sobotka, Satan, Sturm vs. Lang, Vrbata, Prucha, Hanzal, Michalek
(not that all will be with the teams next year, but still)
I also read somewhere that Minnesota will play in Finland (Bäckström, Koivu, Miettinen)

(I don't get the Dirk Southern joke though, i just know that the Ducks had his rights a while back).

He was very good defensive center. I don't think he was "retired" last 3 years, he had minor role in Blue Jacks, just pk and against 1st/2nd lines. Those things (^) depends on team, tactics coach and team-mates, not just player himself. Maybe Sabres was team he likes, they played very defensive years ago.

Anyone has noticed Pechursky's debut? I've just translated an interview with him: http://www.russianhockeyfans.com/nhl/al ... l-114.html

I think he had a real good game. He seems like a promising goalie.Alessandro wrote:Anyone has noticed Pechursky's debut? I've just translated an interview with him: http://www.russianhockeyfans.com/nhl/al ... l-114.html

HE played well for the situation he was in. Pechurskiy. However...one thing to note...the Canucks shot an awful lot at his midsection. Salo had a wide open net and even changed his body angle as he was shooting...and pushed it into Pechurskiy's belly.
Pechurskiy is an okay goalie and will be an okay goalie. Will he be a starter in the NHL? I dunno, but he will be okay.

Anyone see Price get run over by Cam Janssen yesterday? Tsn afterwards had a debate about whether goalies who leave the crease should be free to be hit... Was wondering what others thought on this? Having played briefly as a goalie a few years back, I think it should be allowed. Price was a long way out of the paint.
Anyone else?

He's very young. Although he doesn't have Varlamov's-like potential I think he'll be a good NHL starter if the Pens handle him well.batdad wrote:HE played well for the situation he was in. I'm not sure about this one. I agree that the goalie take a chance and take a risk to be hit but a goalie is still a goalie. Maybe if the goalie isn't in is area behind the net, then your autorize to hit him, but not as hard as a foward of defensemen.getzlaf15 wrote:Anyone see Price get run over by Cam Janssen yesterday? What I find strange is that they will pay his salary this season and buy him out in the summer. why not buy him out right away? Did he even get waived? The fair thing would be to let him go to another team(not that anyone would want him, he does not enforce anymore and can't play, much like Huggy bear in NY)
