Just read something on RDS about that Don Waddell have met Kovalchuk to told him that maybe in the next hours OR in the next days he could be trade. Rangers, Hawks and Boston are the most interest team that Waddell said.
I'm not sure about the Hawks and the Rangers though. Can the Hawks will be able to get rid of Campbell in a trade to land Kovalchuk? And what the Rangers can give to have enough cap space for him? Redden? Jokinen? Drury? That's the kind of news that excite me.

I really don't want the Bruins to get him. He'll cost too much (both in salary if they can re-sign him and in assets to acquire him) and he won't solve all of their problems. Too many people in Boston think acquiring him means a Stanley Cup in Boston. They're just not that close.philou21 wrote:Just read something on RDS about that Don Waddell have met Kovalchuk to told him that maybe in the next hours OR in the next days he could be trade. I read an interesting article discussing possible deadline acquisitions for the Bruins. I really like the idea of them acquiring Barker from Chicago...

Barker has been absolutely horrendous. He cannot hit the net with his shot. His skating is below par,and lately he has been making Brent Sopel look good. He has really fallen off this year. Concerned he may continue to do so. Just not looking good in any way.
And not playing physical. Skating is not good enough. He is not even on the PP very often any more, which is where he was supposed to succeed.
That said...someone will take a chance on him. Barker and Versteeg, Sharp and/or Byfuglien are gone next year. Noone thinks that the Hawks can move CAmpbell or Huet. But one never knows...Giguere and Blake got dealt, albeit for each other...and so did Gomez.

Well there's the solution. Just trade Huet/Campbell for each other toobatdad wrote:Barker has been absolutely horrendous. He cannot hit the net with his shot. Barker would be a good fit in Boston...not living up to the hype. Wonder if the universe would explode if you paired him with Wideman.
