I was bummed that the B's didn't sign Lucic. I would have loved to have traded for him. Instead, he's in he "unsigned prospects" queue. The B's don't have Thomas in my game anymore though. I have a feeling that they wouldn't part with Rask for me.

I decided to go ahead and take that Detroit deal. I'll probably regret it but I don't care. I'm interested in seeing how it works out. I also signed Toskala as my UFA. He signed for a $1.645M cap hit. I tried low-balling a few of the big name goalies that were available as UFAs but they had teams willing to pay. I think I'll have a better team moving forward in season 2.

How did she exit without saving? Unless she just turned off the computer or killed the program with Ctrl-Alt-Del, it's going to force you to save it in some way.

When she goes to bed and there are things up she just ctrl-alt-del alot of the time. I guess I forgot to save and exit before I went down to TV to watch Rus-Slo.

I know she has done it before, but never in a challenge game. She hates EHM. I think she is trying to break the game. :-D

Ookay, quarter 3 from season 2 is done.. Where to start.. :-?
Goalies of course. Soo.. Conklin has been spectacular in net and won defencive player of january award. JDD has fallen so I really have to start looking for a new goalie again - Conklin is not here forever.
Checked some goalies and noticed that Atlanta is ready to toss Lehtonen and Little/Schultz/Savard. Too bad that they traded Lehtonen and Schultz before tradeline. Good thing is that Roy has been developed lately and currently scouts rates him to future range Vokoun-Niemi. Maybe there's change to safe my future goalie situtation.

What comes to my lack of scoring ability I think that I solve that for a while. Scratched Cogliano and called Nilsson up. Well Nilsson has played rather bad, but rest of my 1st line plays well. Again I have to take closer look in my tactics if I could do something to end falling streak.

As I have no idea how to play defensive, goalies always have bad stats on my team. But - Biron has been better than goalies usually are on my teams - a huge upgrade from JDD.

Slowly my team is starting to come unglued, just like everyone else....in my last 8 up to 60 games mark I went: 3-1-4. Barely eked out those OT points too.

Horcoff is slowing a bit, only getting a point per game in last 10. Comrie has disappeared. Visnovsky has 2 goals in last 10 (still he is at 19 which is outstanding for a dman for me).

You can add Cogliano, Petry, Chorney and Plante to my up and down list. Starting to see some injuries. Smid out for 2 weeks, Brule just back from injury...and the farm team has 6 guys out (Petry, Stone, Peckham, Wild, Mindard and Plante just back)

Just so you know....

Here is my record with Roy in net now:

5-4-2 2.57 .905 7.92 av rating.

Finished season 1 in 10th place, I was one point out of a playoff spot going into the last game of the season. Still its tough to be too disapointed considering I thought the team would finish near the bottom of the league.

My top line (Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky with Souray and Visnovsky on D) was amazing and was really the only reason the team was competitive this season.

WOw. Twice I call Jeff Petry up to get him in a game. Both times...he gets injured in his first practice. Talk about bad luck. Back you go to Springfield. Beneficiary of your ability to not stay healthy....Taylor Chorney.

I'm so widdled off at my team right now. My computer mouse just flew into the wall, they are just that bad.

I don't understand why though as I got pracally the same players as last year with an uppgrade on the second line ang in the net. :dunno:

It doesn't matter how defensive I put my players, they just let through breakaway after breakaway and even worse is the man-marking. I've fined half the team after the last game and got five of them asking for a trade, but I just stopped caring...

LOL - awesome! hahahahaha!
Sorry, couldn't help myself.

For my gripe - finally back to my game :joy:

4 games into the regular season (with Hemsky still out), just getting Comrie back, Pisani is injured and out for 7 months :-o with an MCL tear! ](*,) Yikes!!! My replacement options are...

...

...

...

:help:

We are 1-3, doing much better than I thought, though - 9 GF, 10 GA. Happily, Comrie came back from injury on a mission to win us a game!

Welcome to the EHM Challenges indeed.

You say it!
In season two we slowly falled below playoff line and ended 10th position in west conference. ](*,)
Like last season we got 85 points from regular season. PK, defence and goalies was slightly better, but PP and offence
Now waiting that Conklin is nominated as Vezina candidate.. JDD wow.. 4 Shutouts and like 31 games.
Visnovsky's cannon scored 18 goals but even Jackman didn't save Visnosky from -13 +/- stats.
And my young guns.. no one didn't play an better than last year.
For the next season I have to start looking for 1st center. Gagner is not yet good enough to play as leading center.. Stone played somewhat good as 1st line center, but not good enough and he is not gonna develop any better. Or if I just trade Hemsky for physic 1st line winger.. that should do it.

Only 11 games left in my 2nd season and after struggling extremly beetween games 55 and 65 I made some important changes....

With 82 points and 11 games left normally it should not be a problem to make the playoffs but the werstern conference is really tough - currently I am tied for 7th with the Minnesota Wild, 5 points ahead of the 9th, the Coyotes - and besides I'm last in the north-western division and have more points than the Kings placed 3rd :-k... quite weird

I am quite happy that FINALLY Fleury is getting really hot in these important games after dropping out of the playoffspots.

I expected Fleury to figure out a little bit better but the improvement to the last season is a big one!
I don't really trust JDD, even less after his terrible season last year (only played 7 games this season, his stats:
4.32GA 0.840 S% and 6.43 Avg. =D>) Fleury otherwise is playing really fine (69 Games of 71; 2.82 GA 0.912 S% and 8.43 Avg <-- thats what you expect from a goalie  )

A really important move was to call up Svensson-Päjäärvi who is devastating the AHL in his first year (62 games
53G 52A +27 9.02 AVG, he is playing on the 1st line with Brule and Cogliano, who is even better)

Päjäärvi played additionaly 22 games in the NHL on the 4th line (Brule - Penner/Nilsson) and 1st PP and he is having incredible numbers (22 games 10 G 11 A +16 8.05)

Also Smid and Plante changed a lot on the defensive play (Staios and Strudwick are simply a desaster!!)

The only problem that I'm having is that the president wants me to fire once again after rejoining already once

It's really strange: I fired the headcoach sometime ago and wanted to promote John Tortorella to my new Headcoach but I am not allowed to pay more than 450.000/y for a headcoach and another strange thing is that none of the staff wants to renew his contract as headcoach!?!?

In the staff screen I'm not only GM but headcoach as well

Does anybody know what i can do? I cant rejoin again or I will lose all the scouting reports and the draft is coming :help:

I also wanted to ask you how Cogliano is performing on your teams and on which line he suits best for you?

The team fell apart at the end of the first season. They are just too inconsistent. Now it's on to the off-season and the quest to find a strting goalie!

I got pretty lucky in the offseason while trying to fix my goaltending problems. Colorado signed Nabokov so Craig Anderson became expendable and I was able to pick him up for Dubnyk and Pouliot.

As for free agent signings, I used tier two and signed Landon Wilson and Brad Lukowich. Both guys will add a bit more depth, grit and leadership to the team. Lukowich will probably be my #7 defenseman while I may try Wilson on my third line

It seems I've got some good prospects for this team. Olivier Roy and his Cape Breton won the Memorial Cup. IN the final they faced Brandon, for which Toni Rajala scored 21 goals in 19 play-off games. I signed Magnus Pääjärvi-Svensson and drafted Cam Fowler and Mikael Granlund

I couldn't do it. But Halak was a RFA so I wasn't able to offer anything for him. (Many goalies were like this for me)

I got my goalie! I dealt away Staios and Nilsson and acquired Ilya Bryzgalov and Jonas Ahnelöv from Phoenix. Great trade for me as I was looking to get rid of both Staios and Nilsson

Not to sure if I read the date right, but doesn't that say 8/1/2010?
July 15th is the deadline for trades is it not?
