10 is a great number. But I don't think it would happen. :-k

Cam Janssen got 5 games, if they want to send a message (That magic word, if) then Cooke's got to get the same amount at least. It looked to me like he aimed right in to get his shoulder in on Savard's head, so I guess that makes it accurate that he was finishing his check. Never liked him, what a puke.

Now Colin Campbell is saying that it wasn't an elbow. He says it was a shoulder. He compared it to the hit Richards put on Booth, which got no suspension. I'm reading a lot of things now saying not to expect a long suspension or any at all. Campbell is just brutal. ](*,)

Wow.....I'm speechless, does the player need to bleed or anything else to got a decent suspension? This is a joke. :bs:

I guess somebody needs to end up brain-dead for Campbell to wake up.

I think Cooke will get suspended because he's a repeat offender. This is worse than the Richards hit on Booth. Anything above a 5 game suspension would be good.

I think the NHL should just implement automatic suspensions to hits to the head. It's really getting out of control.

Headline for the NHL in the near future:

Player draws gun, three game suspension.

Just a quick point on this. Tam is back playing. well he was. then he got suspended for a check from behind.

I don't know. I didn't see the hit though. I never heard that Tam as a reputation of a jerk. It's still if first suspension I think. :-k But I admit that it's really stupid that you almost died of a dirty hit then you make one to an other guy. :dunno:

There is the hit. BRUTAL. One of the nastiest type of hits. Don't care if first, twentieth or four millionth time. Tam could have killed this guy, just as Cormier could have hit him. Tam had tons of time (since the guy has his back turned the whole time) to stop himself from making the check. Suspension is 2 games. Weak, lame and dumb. Should have been 20.

I thought it would be worse, still not very bright. They weren't go that fast and it's maybe what save the other guy. Weak, lame and dumb? Yes, that's the QJMHL. :-D

I didn't know that he was a jerk. I still will never agree with Cormiers hit. Hit's from behind (just like Tam's) are disgusting. Hit's from behind are just as bad as head shots. Hit's from behind is a cowardice attack and need to be stopped just as much as headshots. What's the diagnosis on the player he hit?

I agree Philou, the NHL haven't set a precedence for head-shots by not suspending Cooke. Especially with the talks ongoing about trying to outlaw them! That's just plain hypocricy!

Sadly I think it's going to take a hit to the head to someone like a Crosby or Ovechkin for the league to stop turning it's back on it.

Bull-Sh!t.

I hope the Bruins take some sort of revenge when they play the Penguins next week. Honestly, they need to send a message. I'd even go so far as to sign some minor league goon (or two or three) to a contract and bring him up with the clear purpose of causing trouble. Let them get instigator penalties. Have them go after non-fighters on the Pens and just pummel them. Who cares if they get suspended? More realistically, the "tough guys" on the Bruins need to go after Cooke. If he won't fight (because he's a coward), then they need to push around the Pens' stars. Let them get physical with Crosby and Malkin. Goon it up. Make it very uncomfortable on the Penguins bench. Make Cooke unpopular with his team.

Even if I'm not a Bruins fan I wish that Chara, Lucic and Thornton will follow him all the game. Hit him, push him to the limit guys! :-p

Have Chara fight Cooke after the opening faceoff (or the first time they're both on the ice) and keep playing tough against the Pens the whole game.

Just don't go overboard with a sucker punch from behind...remember bottom line Bruins, you still need to get 2 points!
