Haven't really thought about it before, but now that you say so, yes.Alessandro wrote:Is anyone finding that stickhandling is too low in most of regens?

Re: Player attributes and development
Hi there, I'm new to this game. Have been playing FM Series for years.
I do not really get along very well with practice and player development. First of all: Is there any possibility to track a player's development over the months and years? In FM, you have arrows up or down that show you the player's progress. In EHM it seems, there is nothing like that.
I am playing a WHL Team, the Red Deer Rebels, right now, and after five months of the first season, it seems that really no player has improved one point in any ability. I hired 5 pretty good coaches and a very good assistant manager whom I advised to lead the practice in the GM Options. Interestingly, he mostly used the "General" practice for every player, without changing anything (only 2 very young players were trained in "skating" and one in "off. skill"). I watched this for about three months and then I took over the practice and changed almost everything to "intensive". Seems that the players are not any more fatigued and - different to FM - not in any ways unhappy about their current training intensity. But no one is getting better. I made some screenshots for some players that show me they have improved absolutely zero. Because I can't keep players more than a few years (until 19 years of age) and have to bring up new young players, I expect some serious disadvantage to the AI teams that will become worse every season.
Anyone experiencing the same? Any solutions to that?

Re: Player attributes and development
Player's development is much slower than in the past (I mean in EHM 2007..), but practice still does have impact.
I would recommend to read relevant article on EHM wiki carefully - http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/inde ... tice_Guide
However, I have to admit, that I am facing quite big issues with development of following attributes:
- Positioning (even when using Goaltending on "Intensive" for Defensive area and on "Medium" for all other regimen)
- Pokecheck
- some physical attributes - e.g. for several players I have experienced issues with almost impossible progress of their Strength attribute in particular (no matter if they were young or not)
As for using "Intensive" on all practice areas - it did not work for me. Have to do more testing, but I see as key factors switching between regimen individually for each player (each player is different) and good mixture of coaches and their assignment to specific regimen. Also seem to me, that in contrary to EHM 2007, where I was able to improve player's attributes almost on constant basis for everyone, in EHM 1.0 I am able to reach full potential only with some of them. Zero effect of above mentioned fatigue is reported bug and I hope it will be addressed in the future. But as I said, I have not noticed any positive effect on player's development in driving all their practices constantly on "Intesive"...
I would like to see as more important factor player's line mates (their Influence attribute to have bigger impact).
As for tracking - you can use spreadsheet published here: http://1drv.ms/1GOtCmQ
it requires some work, but it is worth it.
It would be nice to have that individual graph for each player and attribute like in FM, but we have to be patient.
Also that new player role system is "grey" area for me so far - I did not have enough time to check and test on this (impact of different practice approaches for each role and the player's utilization during games on development as well). Unfortunately the current challenge has to be played with hidden attributes and I haven't got enough time to play other saves during last months.. I have noticed, that scouts tend to change player's comparison after some time (which is good thing).

Re: Player attributes and development
They should just move Positioning to be under something more general that would be trained by both Goaltenders and Skaters or duplicate it. I'm pretty sure it's under Goalkeeping and something else in FM - or at least it used to be for the very reason that both need it and nobody in their right mind would set their skaters to practice goaltending as it's filled with useless attributes (and vice versa). Not really down to us to pick a crazy training schedule.Primis wrote:This has been the case going back to at least EHM 2005. Nobody has ever been able to come up with a better idea for how to handle Positioning, since it's shared between Skaters and Goalies and important to both. Just make sure your defensive practices have Goalie set to at least MED. It's a minor thing to fix only one time when you start a game.lemming3k wrote:Please someone tell me that this isn't true, that's the dumbest game mechanic possible. EDIT - It could be covered under Defensive Skills for skaters; if you check the Attributes drop down in practice you can see which stats correspond to Physical, Mental, Goaltending, Defensive, and Attacking. Positioning is listed under Defensive, and Goaltending.
I'd expect this to mean it will increase under either schedule and may be bugged if this isn't happening.
