Hmm couldn't edit.... Do you base you pick only on the fact that spahel was drafted one year earlier or there is something else to it ? Do you think i can bring him up to the NHL despite his woeful stats ? Or should I let him in the AHL? Never been good/patient enough developing goalies :D

Also is there a Steve Yzerman regen in the game? And another thing Mats Sundin is just about to retire can you point me what to look for in a prospect to recognize him as Sundins regen?

Regens keep flair, consistency, injury proneness, size, def/off, positions and of course potential.
Flair is the only mental attribute there.
Any other mentals and the physical/technical attributes are randomly created
but of course those regens who start with a high current ability often have
above avarage technical skills and anticipation/creativity.

So, to get this straight:

Say a bunch of people retire on Sept. 1 of 09... if they are canadian they will enter the draft in 13?

And euro -- 11?

But does it matter WHEN in the year they retire? IE: If the player retures right before the 09-10 season vs. right after the 08-09? Or is it safe to say that if they retired at all in 09, they will be regened as juniors in the 09-10 season?

The only Russian defenseman that retired (that I can tell... only have the HoF to go by...) was Zubov, and he's definately not 6'4"...

But this kid is a beast, his attributes have been going through the roof and he's getting first star in every u-20 game he plays...

I was going to say Gonchar, but looking at the stats, and indeed the size, i now think not. Must be someone from a European league, can't think of any NHLers, but hes darn good.

Yeah, I really can't think of anyone that crazy good that retired... since he was drafted in 09, they original had to have retired in 07, right?

Any guesses on this one?

Was thinking Forsberg... the position, height/weight, etc all pretty much match but the Flair is off...

is there a way to see everyone who was retired?

Don't think so... Someone may be able to tell you more on that though.

I'm quite sure it's Foppa though, does the flair have to be the same? There's probably been a decline in his attributes. Sundin and Nylander are 2 others that are good, swedish and nearing retirement. Don't know their stats off hand though. Does the regen have the same handedness, if so... It aint Sundin.

Also... Which DB are you using.

Lidas.

When everyone retires with Lidas' DB at the very first day of the season, Foppa doesn't go into the HOF like everyone else.

My understanding is Flair stays consistent. It COULD be Nylander... I'll open the DB with the editor and check it out.

So that insane defenseman up there just spent his rookie season with my team. He finished playing second pairing and got ~40 pts in ~70 games and a 8.1 avg rating. I got offers from EVERY team for him, including straight up trade of Vinogradev for Gaborik and Vinogradev for jeff Carter.

I said no way both times.

Late answer but if I remember correctly all regens (or atleast the vast majority of them) are generated and added at the same date, in between the seasons.

I don't think it's one of the top players because his defensive characteristics are way to close to the offensive ones. :-k

Solved this one, Vladimir Malakhov. I have him too, his technical and mental stats are pretty much the same but unfortunately my guy is a poor skater. But he'll still a good 3rd pair defenseman.
