Biggest surprise has been Sharks :-D They have dropped out at first or second round since 03-04 when they played at conference finals.

Not the "biggest" surprise but I was really hoping the Avs will pass them, I was thinking maybe in 7. But the Sharks finally played some decent hockey. I think maybe the addition of Boyle and Heatley will help them a bit for the playoffs.

WOW! What a game between the Habs and the Caps. Halak just stole the game, completely! Outstanding performances.

Buffalo are out too, another surprise in the east. If the caps, I said IF the Caps lose in 2 days, the 3 division leader will been eliminated and the next series will be 4 vs 8 and 6 vs 7. We don't see that really often. The 09-10 playoffs are full of suprises, that's exciting! :-D :joy:

Hey I called the Bruins beating the Sabres. You should listen to me more often :-p

btw the Sabres were not the best team in their division, they just didn't have as many injury problems as the Bruins and the Habs during the season.

I never said the Bruins cannot beat the Sabres, just not in 4. :-p Even if their was injuries the Sabres are always a surprising team with the line-up they got but the got a great head-coach too.

IF the Habs are able to win, the Flyers will dodge both the Caps AND the Pens. They match up much better against Boston.

It was great seeing Boston and Buffalo meet in the first round, old school division hockey. All that was missing is Montreal facing Hartford :-D

Great playoffs so far, in that every team went down fighting and had a chance to take their respective series. Here's hoping for a repeat of last year's Vancouver/Chicago series for the sake of peace and quiet on game nights, and no Canucks games interfering with other local business ventures :-D

*Edit* I can't see PK Subban NOT making the Habs next year. I just hope the team puts a ban on afro wigs and blackface paint

Oh rats, I was thinking it would be Bos-MOn next round if Montreal wins. I don't think it is...It is Pitt-MOntreal. Boston-Philly. Oh well.

You're not alone, plenty of Bruins fans rooting for the Habs. I'd say 50-50 at worst.

It might be interesting to see them match up against the Penguins though... especially if Savard is back.

IMO both Pens and Flyers are clearly above Buffalo and also better than the Bruins. I felt the Bruins were favourites against the Sabres, that's gonna change regardless of who they play in the semis. It almost doesn't matter. Did you watch the Flyers/Devils series ? I was surprised about the lack of discipline shown by Philly, tons of absolutely ridiculous penalties. There were games where the Devils had 2 or 3 powerplays already halfway through the first period. Of course Boucher was standing on his head and the Devils didn't make them pay most of the time but still. On the other hand Philly forechecks really well and aggressive and the Bruins D strength isn't exactly moving the puck. They won't be dominating the boards as good as against the Sabres midgets either.

Nope. I didn't watch any other series besides the B's/Sabres one. I've barely got the time to watch that one. So you think we're in trouble either way? I hope the B's can manage to surprise everyone again!

Against Pittsburgh--The Pens have the advantage at all positions.
Against Philly--Even without Carter and Gagne, FLyers are better up front and in particular on the blueline. But Boston is much better in net. I would think, but everyone thought that last round. That 4 straight shutout waterboy seems to be back on top of things. Oh Oh,

Don't see either Philly or Pens blueline as superior really, it's more or less even. The way they have played in the playoffs anyway, because Wideman and Hunwick have really elevated their game. If they go back to being their regular season selves then yes, Bruins D is in trouble. And I'd not take Fleury over Rask. But both Philly and the Pens have a way better forward group, the Bs best wingers are Recchi and Satan and Savard's form, eventhough he will play, is questionable. Hate to say it but if it's Pens the series is over in 5. Against Philly, really depends on how strict the refs are. As I've said they've been very prone to take absolutely stupid penalties. The Bruins PP seems to be clicking much better than the Devils man advantage, even without Savard. It could go either way. But as I said, both are a completely different challenge than the Sabres who are small and soft and don't really have any superstars upfront.
