Dipietro has started of well with a 47 save victory over defending champs devils.
Dude, you are into season four AND you're also producing face-packs!
Where do you get the time? Don't you have a life?

Just kidding, I wish I had more time to play. I am only in week one of season one and I started before the challenge was announced!
I have vinterbreak and just broke up with my girlfriend. And I myself think I had have little time to play and make facepacks the last weak due to new year and stuff. Also i'm on a useless computer with 500mb ram because my computer is in on repear. If I had my own computer I would probably likely to produce five facepacks and two seasons EHM a day. But school is starting on tuesday so I dont have that much time after that.

I know it doesn't make much difference overall, but the loss of reality is a bit annoying.

Or is there something wrong with my game ?

Thanks for your answer....
Mine is at $59.9 using the Lida 3.0. Im not an expert but sounds like something is wrong with your database
Hmmm, I just looked at the challenge stats and it looks like no one surpassed the 46M mark, which is the cap max in my game as well. I guess it's ok then. Thanks for your answer blueshirtnParis. It would be nice if anyone else could confirm that the salary cap is around 46M in your game? I already started and it would be annoying to start again with signing scouts and so on. And I managed to sign Joe Sakic as assistant coach - he is above 17 in every single but two, so I don't want to lose him
The salary cap is $59.9M. I'm guessing what you're seeing in people's stats at around $46M is what they're spending on contracts currently. Those are two totally different things. If the NHL Salary Cap is not $59.9M in your game, you're using the wrong DB and will need to start over.

I didn't look. I just went with the figure stated in another post. I know it's $59M but didn't pay attention to after the decimal.

Thanks bruins72 and Círyatan!!

I am a bit embarrased, honestly. I installed the game on this laptop long ago, when i started to play EHM and obviously played with Euros as currency then. That's the reason for the tweaked salary cap. NOw it's 59.5/59.6 depending on the screen, I guess that's right now.

Sorry for the disturbance, I'll try to figure out future problems by myself

THanks for your fast replies, good luck for the challenge!

So its not going to well right now.. 3-6-1 last 10. Switched formations a little bit and now they looks like this:

Klingberg - Kopitar - Little
Olesz - Burmistrov - Bergfors
Fedoruk - Bubnick - Eager
Slater - Stewart - Boulton

Hainsey - Bogosian
Oduya - Mayfield(1rd pick 2007)
Enström - Boynton

Dipietro(Mason)

Traded Dipietro for Pavelec 2 months in, now I have a franchise goalie, also drafted Hasek's regen 2009. Going a little better with 3-1-0 since ive put Klingberg on first and moved Slater down. Klingberg is putting up some decent numbers and having 7.90 despite playing on third most of the season, really a beast on PK and clinched a SH GWG at bruins last game.

If only I could dump Mason. He is not they best goalie for the system I am playing. But I had to sign him to a contract extension, I dont have a lot of trust in Pavelec and didn't want to enter the off season with no goalie. Though not sure I would go with DiPietro..;I would be afraid he would get injured all the time lol. Wonder what his injury proneness is.

He has only been out once for 10 days since I started this save. And he has ben outstanding for my team with an avarage rating at 8.68 after 34 games.

Cinderella story in the making?

Went from 2nd worse in the entire league the first season and now at 60 games into the second season I am 2 points out of the 2nd best in the league.

If only I had a goaltender that didn't turn into Swiss cheese every few games.

:-D

Am I the only one who actually likes having Mason? In my game he's leading all goalies with a .896 Avr R. He is 3rd in SvPct, and 10th in GAA. He's been very solid for me.

Well kudos to you, he has 3.50 and .88 in avarage for me in 4 years. And Dipietro had 2.70/.92 in his first season for me.

Well after much debating I'm going to attempt the challenge :) Looking forwards to getting my ass kicked so far.

Only through the pre season thus far, hired a new AGM and acouple scouts... signed a few of my prospects... we'll see how this goes.

My biggest concern is screwin up one of the rules and getting DQ'd haha.

Neither Goalie has been inspiring forme so far. I played little as a right wing the first two seasons, he did good scoring 146 points in 150 games. But then i traded him for Ehrhoff.

Don't worry. We are pretty lenient(maybe too much) on first-year users

Eh I'll try my best. I'm just referring to the cheat sheet mainly... its pretty hard to mess up the first year I think, no trades no UFA and no waiver pickups... so basically working with what I got haha.

And the Thrashers win the Stanley Cup :-D
Credit must go to Getzlaf for carrying the team on his back. Pavelec absolutley shined in the post season going 16-5 with a 2.58 gaa and a .914 SV% and 2 shutouts.

Congrats!!

Maybe I should reconsider Pavelec. I had sent him down to Chicago to get him some playing time and was going to focus on trading for goalie in the off-season.

Uh oh!

'Team is in financial crisis. You can no longer sign any contracts'

Ive never seen this before as I always play the Rangers.

This after I more than doubled season tickets sales and 4mil under budget.

This is gonna suck!

Now I got:

Thrashers a financial mess media report.

3rd last in league attendance, while being first in the league overall. I'm $22mil in the red even after adding 9mil in income and 9mil less in expenses with season not over yet.

Not much I can do other then waiving all my players.

$34mil cash infusion: The owners have paid off $34mil of the teams debts to keep the team from falling into receivership.

Whew!!!!

But I have an unhappy player (Nick Boyton) who says he "doesn't think a team in this financial crisis can fulfill his ambitions"

Somebody might be getting waived after this season!!!

He was solid for me, but I got a chance to trade him for Nabokov, so I did. Of course, Nabokov Retired on me at 36, now I've gotta use Pavelec, but he's looking about as good as Mason was now in the third season.
