I heard Savard had a list of like 5 teams, almost entirely in the East, that he would be willing to move to. Toronto, Ottawa, Buffalo, Chicago, and another, if I remember correctly. That makes it quite tricky to trade him since most of those teams really don't have room under the cap or do have the assets to send our way.

I hadn't heard about a list of teams on Thomas' part but I keep hearing Philadelphia as the main team interested. I guess they were working on Nabokov but word has it that those talks weren't going well, he wants too much. I've heard Hartnell suggested as coming in return for Thomas. As much as I hate the guy (when he's on another team), I think I'd do that deal.

I hadn't heard anything about Thomas and Savard ONLY being dealt together. That would make trading them especially difficult.

Chiarelli is in NHL10 mode.
I've heard that he's been compared to a poor man's Rafalski. He plays college hockey in Boston, so the team has had plenty of opportunity to see him play. Maybe they really saw something they liked? Still, like you, I'm skeptical about trading for a 5'9" defenseman.

I heard that too but also heard that they haven't had much luck negotiating with Nabokov. He's talking about testing the UFA market and maybe even heading to the KHL.

The Flyers sure do like to make their deals for negotiating rights. They that with Hamhuis, who they had no luck in signing, so they traded his negotiating rights to the Penguins (or so I heard).

That'S what happen Bruins. Like I said before, Nabokov wants to test the market and it seems he tell to Holmgrem that he wasn't interested at all to negociate with him. Plus, Flyers cap is too tight to sign Nabokov. If they got a chance to sign him they're gonna trade someone with a big $$$$$, like Hartnell.

I believe teams must waive players before buying them out. Kotalik,Vandermeer and Koistinen was waived as well

That's true, need to clear waivers before being bought out.

When he was put on waiver in the season does that count? Anyway, we all know his contract will be buy out, nobody wants to pick him.

Not a bad trade, I don't mind Winnik.

Turco turned down a 3 yr, 6 million dollar contract from the Stars, will test the FA market.

The Stars have made an offer to Turco? They clearly said they wouldn't re-sign Turco in the season and the contract of Lethonen was a proof. :dunno:
