Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
Johnson leads his own line which is now Tampas #1 line so yeah, Stamkos has almost nothing to do with Johnsons success here. Johnson has been Tampas MVP so far by miles. Tavares is a great player, not questioning that but to have him as a midseason Hart contender over Malkin, Nash and Tarasenko this season is just plain wrong and makes me think he doesnt even watch the NHL. In Philly Voracek has been THE man this season, he is the one making it tick no doubt about it, watch their games urself and u'll see it. When Malkin has clearly been the best player on the team ofc he should be there, not saying Crosby shouldnt be named either but to not have Malkin even named as a contender is just stupid.
As for the Vezina thing i thought i read Halak but point still stands, even naming Bernier or Bobrovskiy as Vezina contenders right now is just stupid, they are nowhere close. It's a really bad list of contenders overall and makes me really question his knowledge about hockey, i actually think he has none.
I already know LeBrun hates Rangers but to not have Nash even mentioned anywhere in that article is retarded since he has been one of the best players in the league.
Just noticed that you called Malkin a #2 Center, he is playing as it but he is clearly not a #2C.... And he has been the MVP of the team this season together with Fleury, not Cindy...

Palat - Johnson - Kucherov is the miracle line in Tampa this year. That line is +70 this season together and 118 points/42 games.

He's not saying that Malkin is a #2 C. Just saying that he plays on the second line.Peter_Doherty wrote:Just noticed that you called Malkin a #2 Center, he is playing as it but he is clearly not a #2C....

Connolly was sloppy, he thought he had it easy and got rekt. He could've pushed the puck harder or wait just like 1 sec to go a little further with is stick and he would've scored.

Re: Official NHL Season 14-15 Thread
The NHL have announced who will be at the all star game. The line-up is pretty spot on IMO. Only thing I wonder why is, Nugent-Hopkins, Foligno, Faulk and Byfuglien.
Hopkins as a pretty ordinary season. No Oilers players should be there!
I just checked Foligno stats, well deserved after all. I always thought Faulk was more of a defensive d-man but seems like he deserves his place, would've prefered Karlsson over Byfuglien.

It looks alright, i would probably change a few but with every team having to be represented and everything it looks fine. It's just a ploy thing anyway, it really is for the best players in the offensive zone, not the best players, but thats fine... It's a PR/fan thing anyway so it's kind of w/e who's there

I think the NHL always takes someone from all teams (hence RNH and Faulk)
Foligno is there to please the home crowd

Foligno is still having a pretty good season though but yeah, would pick Hall before RNH and even Skinner before Faulk.

The thing i find weird is that alot of the flashy players wasn't chosen. ASG is a show, why isn't the showtime players in there? Thinking about players like Karlsson and PK for example, seems counter productive from the NHL.

The review office in Toronto must hold the most incompetent group of people ever collected in the same building. They are robbing everyone left and right, especially my Rangers. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 82cc16d5c4

Nice ceremony for Teemu yesterday, even the Jets players had their old jersey with Selanne's name on it.

Yes, a really beautiful ceremony! I watched it at 4 a.m. last night.
The Finnish TV channel Viasat showed the ceremony and NHL game for free in the honor of Teemu (we need to pay for the channel otherwise). That was a really nice gesture!
That tells you how big impact the guy has here in Finland, our National Hero!!

Selanne's retirement makes me feel the same as when Sakic retired. An awesome player that I grew up with is now gone and it leaves a big empty space.

If the playoffs started today then the Rangers would meet the Islanders. That would be so cool! Do we have any Isles-fans on the forum?
Today they play a regular game
Let's go Rangers!

Guarandamntee ISLANDERS in 6
I know JOhnson not playing with Stamkos. Point was.... Stamkos on PP with him, and Johnson not getting the best checkers at even strength, because noone is going to take the big guns off Stamkos. But yeah...he has been darn good, and well beyond expectation.
2. Again on the goalies 1/3 of them are listed and in no order of relevance to who the top ones are. His pick for the winner was spot on. And for 2nd and 3rd.
3. Malkin-philou made the point already. Crosby is still MVP of that team over Malkin, and Crosby finishes 2nd in my mind at this point to Fleury. So 3rd MVP on his own team..... cannot be MVP of the league. Not in the running.
4. Really not as horrible list as you had made it out to be in any of the categories. QUite honestly there are 2 candidates on NAshville for league MVP that rank above Johnson and Malkin by far and away. Just that they are a Dman and a goalie. But those two leading Nashville to 1st overall in the league. Pretty clear who MVP should be.

Minnesota got Dubnyk for a 3rd round pick.
The trade was good for Minnesota to get him for a 3rd round pick but what are they gonna do with all these just "ok" goalies.

batdad - My point on the goalies was that its just stupid to even mention goalies that have no shot at it in the end anyway. If you must mention 10 goalies then atleast take the "91.5SV%" that actually has a shot in the end with a monster finish to the season like Hank, Quick and Rask or something, not McDavid-ing Bernier.
And no, Cindy has not been the MVP of the team, it has been Fleury and Malkin by far. And i still think it's a horrible list, especially for Hart. Nash and Voracek are two of the main contenders behind Rinne and aren't even mentioned anywhere, .

Fleury is having his best season in his career. Crosby and Malkin are both great as they always are.Peter_Doherty wrote:batdad - My point on the goalies was that its just stupid to even mention goalies that have no shot at it in the end anyway. It's VERY hard to compare a goalie with a D-man/Forward (when we're talking about the Hart Trophy)
