Both draft Logan Brown (him 15, me 20), both draft Visuri (him 105, me 195), both draft Palmu (him 135, me 155), both draft Bison (him 195, me 165).....INSANITY.

Edit: as for staff who retire...I never sign any staff members older than 55. And that is why.
So I beat you for Bison? ;)

NAh, you drafted him too late.. LOL

Edit: Mentor???? I am NOT THAT OLD!!!!!

And someone else (last post page 8) has 4 picks the same as me too. Everyone loves that Finnish center. He is the new Eriksson-Ek

Pre-season is going fine to say the least, my biggest enemy is game crashes, not the opposing team.

I've a doubt.

Having Marchand 28 years and since we need to trade at the end of the season players over 28, his contract is ending in June 2017. It's possible to trade him before the end of contract or we need to let him go for nothing as happened with the first 3 players

After the first offsesason, you can keep players as old as you'd like.

The game keeps claiming Lee Stempniak on waivers. i'm not even looking at the waiver wire. Am I ok to just waive and release him?

I get the exact same errors as visualdarkness. I have a back-up save that I'm gonna try, the problem, though, is that I've only played 39 games on that and I've already reported for 40 games.
I guess someone (archi?) can edit my report so here's the stats after 40 games on the second try:

Wins: 14
Losses: 19
Overtime Losses: 7
Conference Rank: 14
Goals Scored: 102
Goals Against: 121

Powerplays: 213
Powerplay Goals Scored: 36
Times Shorthanded: 174
Powerplay Goals Against: 33
Penalties in Minutes: 388

Payroll ($US Millions): $40m

Player Stats • Total as of 40 games

Most Goals: Number: 15 Name: Dylan Larkin
Most Assists: Number: 21 Name: Connor Murphy
Most Points: Number: 25 Name: Brad Marchand

Most +/-: Number: 5 Name: Zac Rinaldo
Most PIM: Number: 46 Name: Dylan Larkin

EDIT: Getting the errors again on the same date as the first time. Think I might give up on this challenge unless there's a fix coming soon.

Finished my first season regular season in last place with 68 points, three behind Panthers and Coyotes, both with same.
Surprise for Lightnings winning 67 games and had one 15 winning streak and other with 17.

Isn't an excuse but I had Marchand, Zboril, Kemppainen a lot of time injured. Spooner wasn't so bad :P and i enjoyed Pastrnák but unfortunately he doesn't want to renew contract :/
Now i'll wait for the end of playoffs and hope to get 1st draft pick.

Uploaded mine stats and saw this in assists :P

I have the same problem, maybe it's because I have not that much players left in the organization. I immediately put the player on waiver again, and release him if he's not claimed

After 41 games in 2nd season

STANDINGS

STATS NHL

STATS BRUINS

TRADES
________________________________________________________________

I think that I can be happy with our position after 41 games.

First line: Khokhlachev-Matthews-Toffoli is unveliable. Matthews and Toffoli are beast, seriously. Pastrnak is very good, but Fabbri and Senyshyn are OK. But I know that they are young plyers and I believe that they will be better in next season. And my third line is solid, yeah! Last year my third line was very, very bad... 4th line? Spooner - what a shock. After very bad last season he is very solid now.

First pair (Krug-Larsson) is beast. Maybe Krug will be between three finalists for James Norris Trophy. Zboril was out with broken leg, so he was playing only four games, he is in second pair with Joe Morrow.

LINES:
Khokhlachev - Matthews - Toffoli
Pastrnak - Fabbri - Senyshyn
Connolly - Phillips - Hayes
Griffith - Spooner - Randell

Krug - Larsson
Zboril - Morrow
Cross - Carlo

Mrazek
Subban

Anyway, Carlo re-signed for 4 years with 1.2M per year.

It could be because you're below the salary cap floor and claiming some higher contracts would put you above it. I had the same thing happen to me during the Canucks challenge.

I sent Pastrnak down for 5 games in Providence. During this time Skinner started producing. I brought Pastrnak up, but he still struggled, so I sent him back down again. Then Connolly got injured, so Pastrnak got called back up. I think the experience of being sent down twice has woken him up as I now have both Skinner and Pastrnak producing. And because of this, I have Marchand and Bjugstand producing as well.

And with offensive production comes wins. The Bruins are 6-3-1 in their last 10 and are now 2 points out of 8th. Lawson Crouse and Rasmus Andersson are also tied for the rooking scoring race with 14 points each. Yep, things are looking up and the fans don't seem so upset with me quite as much. We'll see how they feel at 40 games. ;)

I finished the 3rd season, ended up 14th with 71 points. Flyers and Pens also got 71 points. I discovered I played all three seasons without any tactics (just the default), which explains the bad results. I usually never miss the play-off and now I finished bottom three seasons in a row.

I decided to quit this challenge, but keep my team and play on without restrictions. Now those absurd contract for youngsters to keep up with the salary floor are a bit a pain in the ass...

Just an FYI- it does not good to overpay to get to the salary floor, the fines are equal to the salary that you are below the floor.

Sorry to hear the challenge didn't work for you! (Granted, I'll probably get frusterated about two seasons in as well)

Image AFTER 2nd SEASON Image

What a season! It was very hard season for all teams in Eastern Conference! Seriously... for example: NY Islanders had 101 points and they were on 9th place in conference!! Yes, they went not to play-off. [-X And Sabres ended on 12th place with 94 points!!

And Boston Bruins? YES! We were in play-off in our 2nd season with rebuild (this challenge)! We had 103 points and we ended on 2nd place in Atlantic division behind Tampa Bay.

And play-off? We are very, very happy because we were in the Eastern Conference final! :joy:

Very great season for Auston Matthews (after season he won 5 awards!), Tyler Toffoli, Alexander Khokhlachev, Torey Krug, Adam Larsson, Petr Mrazek and Jimmy Hayes.

Image STANDINGS
Image STATS NHL
Image STATS BRUINS

Auston Matthews won Hart Memorial Trophy, Art Ross Trophy, Maurice Richards Trophy, King Clancy Trophy and Lady Byng Trophy. :notworthy:

I will resign him this off-season and I hope that new contract will be for more 8 years about 7M-8M per year.

Image OFF-SEASON Image
We traded Jimmy Hayes and Tommy Cross to Anaheim Ducks for 1st round pick in 2019 and 2nd round pick in 2018.

And I decided that Matús Kovác (6th ovr pick in 2017), Logan Brown (20th ovr pick in 2016) and Alexander Leandersson (53rd ovr pick in 2016) will be in Boston Bruins roster for next season. And Robby Fabbri was sent to AHL for next season. His deffense is really bad...

Image Probably lines for 3rd season: Image
Kovác - Matthews - Toffoli
Khokhlachev - Brown - Senyshyn
Connolly - Phillips - Pastrnak
Griffith - Spooner - Randell

Krug - Larsson
Zboril - Morrow
Leandersson - Carlo

Joining in on my first ever challenge. My Stanley cup final in year one was the Lighting vs the Blackhawks with the Lighting winning it in 5 games.

http://i.imgur.com/6CgbrCx.jpg Here's the results, it helped me a lot doing my lineups and many rookies earned their spot on the lineup: Emil Johansson was splendid, he was even better than Krug so I gave him 3rd pairing time and he still did well. Morrow is such a let down for me, he's very average. I'll be rotating him and Trotman on the 3rd pairing RD. I've also added 4 forwards, Blidh was able to fit on my 3rd line and can sub out for the 2nd line when needed. Crouse dominated the first 5-6 games then went on a streak of 7s with no points so I've kept him on my 1st line because my LW are very weak for now. I have also traded for Fabbri earlier this season and he slots well on the 2nd line RW. Last but not least, the very surprising Cameron Hughes! I've had him on the 4th line every game and he always puts up 7s and he managed to get 3 goals and 3 assists and he's a +4 with no PP or PK time. He's only 20 too!

Sadly I had to send Senyshyn down because Pasta and Fabbri are taking #1 and #2, Senyshyn was my captain last year and was my best forward with Marchand. However, he really sucked in the preseason, so hopefully he picks up his game and I can put Pasta on the LW. I haven't been able to find a good center yet, it's a pretty big issue for me since Khokhlachev is my best C but I had him Lw last year and he was a beast, I want him back on the LW.

Edit: So Johansson was given a suspension on his 3rd shift of the season... Great start! At least we beat Montreal
