I think there are some young players in Russia that could do with some attribute upgrading, the first of which is would be goalies, such as:Sergei Bobrovsky, Stanislav Galimov, Sergei Gayduchenko and Ilya Proskuryakov. Then there are other players, such as Glazachev, Perezhogin. Overall, if you have the time, a number of players need reworking, most of them up, some of them down(such as Jagr's physical attributes, they are too high).
And btw, congratulations, and thank you very much for the hard work you have put into this, it really gives the game a new and interesting look.
I'm glad you like the DB. I dont know very much about these players, but if you post some suggestions, I can work a bit on them. \ Lidas

First of all thanks for listening. I will post some stats for the above-named and others:
Stanislav Galimov of Ak Bars Kazan has a 1.77 GAA and a 92.7%SVS in 20 games this season
Ilya Proskuryakov of Metallurg Magnitogorsk has a 2.27 GAA and a 91.4%SVS in 28 games
Sergei Bobrovsky of Metallurg Novokuznetsk has a 2.70 GAA and a 92.2%SVS in 22 games
Sergei Gayduchenko of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl has only played 3 games but he has an astonishing 94.1% SVS and 1.61 GAA
taking into account that one of the most talented goalies of the world right now, Semen Varlamov, had a 90.9SVS% and a 2.45GAA, it tells something about these youngsters.
I think that one of the most underrated players in the game might be Alexander(Aleksandr) Eremenko, who is viewed by many as one of the world's premiere goaltenders. From my point of view he's great all-around, with no real weaknesses. He has had two great seasons both for Salavat and for the National team, for example, at the 2007 WC he had 0.98GAA and 95.7SVS% in 6 games, which tells you a lot. For more info about them i(at least stat wise) i reccomend you www.eliteprospects.com, www.khl.ru or www.eurohockey.net . As i said there are a lot of players in Russia that need re-rating. If i can help you any forther, just mention it, I'd be glad to help anyway i can.
P.S.:Forgot to Mention Jan Marek, definitely one of the best centers in the world, who has reigned supreme this season.
Ive done some upgrading to the keepers, but you cant really compare stats from different leagues. I'm open for any other suggestions to attribute changes, but if possible, please suggest solid numbers for the changes. \ Lidas

all it says to be honest is that those goalies are doing okay in a league noone knows anyything about. If the guy who knows the Russian players better than anyone has not updated them...then I think they are fine. I am referring to Alessandro (kidhander) here.
As for comparing hem to Varlamov...you cannot do that at this point. Two completely different scenarios. If you want to use those numbers, then you need to take a look at Corey Schneider's in the AHL...they are better. And you need to boost Schneider as well. But then look at Schneider in the NHL this season vs Varlamov's,and show me whose are better right now, and is a better prospect. Varlamov does not get mentionned in the same sentence as Schneider in terms of potential ability, yet he looks like the better goalie if you use the NHL stats. Sample size is simply too small. The Russian's are in the same boat.
At this point, IMHO we leave these Russian goalies mentioned alone. They don't belong in the NHL at this point, and if you upgrade em in the game well...

There was an incredibly arrogant statement. In the KHL there a lot of good players, that would handle themselves quite well in the NHL, but don't go there because ofr good conditions and good pay at home(very good, actually). Shall I exemplify Radulov?Jagr? These 2 are great hockey players, but none of them is top of the league when in comes to points. You have a talented goalie like Emery(had a bad last season, but it didn't have much to do with his skills, rather his attitude) who is below these guys.
And to say that the KHL is a league that noone knows nothing about, that is just.......... Maybe you don't, few North Americans know anything about leagues outside their own area(NHL, AHL etc.), that doesn't mean that others don't. Take a look at the fact that the Czech Republic roster for the last WC was half made up of players from the KHL, with a player like Marek being first line center. Even Canada and the USA had players from the KHL on their rosters. KHL/RSl clubhs have been dominating European club competitions for the last 4-5 years, and last autumn Metallurg Magnitogorsk did a great job against the Rangers, losing 4-3 after a very close match. And my arguments could go on and on. You should just read what Jagr, Yashin, Radulov, Morozov say about the league, hey, since you mentioned why don't you ask Alessandro yourself, see what he has to say about what you just stated, and about those boys.
P.S.:I happen to talk pretty often with Alessandro...

Not arrogant in my post. Just pointing out that the guy who knows the league the best....has not changed em. If he does then fine.
I never said there is noone who can play in the KHL, and this was not to move to a debate about the KHL. Period.
It was a post to point out that well...these goalies you mentionned are not even close to being equal to Varlamov currently, nor are they in need of big boosts. Now if you are planning on suggesting moving them from 1 ratings to 2 ratings fine. But they are not NHL calibre goalies at this time...
And the sample size you are pointing out (in particular with 1 guy) is WAY TO SMALL to make any kind of judgement. I mean, even Andre Racicot had a shutout in his life.
Oh and BTW I edited out my comments about their being some good players in the KHL such as Jagr and Radulov. The reason I did that was because it was in conjunction with a point I was making about Schneider vs Varlamov and the AHL league. Why did I do that? Because I did not want to get into a debate about which league is higher calibre hockey...AHL vs KHL. I honestly believe that today the KHL is well...a bit better than the AHL with a little bit of a chance to be much better than the AHL in the future should more players like Radulov opt to stay home. That is not what this thread is about, nor will it become about that.
It is purely about whether or not a player needs to be edited, and issues with Lidas's database. So let us stop discussing the merits of stats for players in a 20 game stretch. It is not enough. Stats alone are not enough. Tell me where these Russian goalies went in the NHL draft? Anywhere near Varlamov/Schneider? What do NHL scouts say about them? are they projected to play in the NHL? If not...then their ratings should not change.
Oh, and in my comments above....please read the IMHO part again. Cause that is what it is. Not arrogant.

Man, do the names Martin St. Louis or Fabian Brunnstrom tell you anything? The NHL scouting system is not as good as you make it, and there are other problems to take into account, such as NHL clubs being reluctant to draft russians lately due to the conflict between the leagues.
KHL is not just "a little better then the AHL", it's a lot better. You argue a lot with me, but can you even tell me some contract figures from the KHL, or tell me (from memory) some player names, other then the well known ones?

Fact is that what I said i think is correct, a player like Bobrovsky has been constantly over 90% over the last season and a half, and for KHL that is trully good. His attributes in the game are worst then Stefan Ridderwall or Markstrom, and that certainly isn't the case.
Another thing, many of the russian prospects that are eligible for the 2007 draft have kind of too low PA.
I think we should ask for Alessandro's advice on this too, see what he thinks.(though i am pretty sure he will agree with me)

Nightmare---Tis what I said already. If Alessandro knows these guys, and knows what they are and will be, I would think he would have already made changes in the unfaking db. But if somehow he missed a Russian prospect (which I find hard to believe, as he is usually onto them as fast as a fruit fly on a rotting banana.) then it would be great if he were to look into it.
if he does make a change to them, he will do so in unfaking, and Lidas is already in touch with the team on that, so all will be good. Therefore at this point, the Russian prospects can be dropped from discussion.
So you know: To my knowledge, Lidas updates the players from unfaking as he gets a chance, so changes implemented there, get input into his version as he goes.
Lidas: IF I am mistaken here, please let me know. That was my understanding.

Man, try to understand that Alessandro has made NO attribute changes to russian players. I have used the original database and his, and a number of other databases, and have, on purpose, compared them, and have seen no such changes, that was what i was trying to tell you. The first changes i have seen to attributes were indeed made by Lidas.batdad wrote:Nightmare---Tis what I said already. If I am wrong, I am sorry, but to the extent of my knowledge that is the truth. I am not trying to mislead anyoane here, just trying to be helpful.

Interesting, because when I look at the unfaking thread on another site...there are changes made everywhere. And I guess if he has not changed the attributes, since he is the one who is at the top of the food chain for unfaking..he feels comfortable with his original evaluations. Or...it just is not important.
Oh, and Radulov was certainly changed by him...a long time ago.
Anyway, enough about all of this. This is not going to turn into a thread about 3 players. So..if it is deemed that these guys atty's change by Lidas and Alessandro then fine. If not...forget it.
Never said you were trying to mislead at all. Don't know where you got that.

JUSTIN Morrison plays in Hamburg Freezers, but MIKE Morrison (goalie) now plays with Modo.
Ouch! Mixed up the Morrisons. Already have them both in their correct teams though.
Some things:
Mathias Johansson (spelling?) plays in Malmö Red Hawks like he should. The problem is that Malmo is one of his disliked clubs - so he always leaves the team.
Removed FBK as a disliked club
Färjestad almost always releases Jonas Gustavsson (g) for some reason. He is their starting goalie and have signed for two more years.
Dunno why they release him...
KUTGW Lidas!
Will you keep updating this roster for coming seasons too?
I'll keep updating until I get tired of it. Maybe not as ferociously as before though /Lidas

Last time I checked Dustin Penner, he didn't have his NHL rights listed there. Don't know if it's supposed to be that way, or if it was repaired already, just a random thing I spotted the other day.
Not sure what you mean. Player in NHL automatically get assigned NHL rights to the team they are playing in.\ Lidas

Hey, just wondering if in the new update will WHL teams have their real life prospects, such as Ty Raddie (Portland Winterhawks), Brent Benson (Saskatoon Blades), Tyler Borstmayer (Regina Pats), Duncan Siemens (Saskatoon Blades), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Red Deer Rebels), Laurent Brossoit, (Edmonton Oil Kings) etc.
Also, the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League should have a higher rep...maybe a four considering the SJHL is a 6.

In my research I sent Lidas, everyone that has played this season in the WHL is added. I'm currently working on unsigned players for the OHL and will then get on to the WHL prospectsMo9 wrote:Hey, just wondering if in the new update will WHL teams have their real life prospects, such as Ty Raddie (Portland Winterhawks), Brent Benson (Saskatoon Blades), Tyler Borstmayer (Regina Pats), Duncan Siemens (Saskatoon Blades), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (Red Deer Rebels), Laurent Brossoit, (Edmonton Oil Kings) etc.

Whitney and Gonchar could have their injuries changed.
Ryan could be reduced to 5 months and Sergei could be taken off of Torn ACL (so he doesnt retire) and could be given a 6 month injury like Whitney currently has. This would put his return in to Feb/Mar, which looks to be about right since he is currently practicing.
It is a shame the injury lengths are partially hard coded as it would make things much easier.
