HC Franzen is in it to win it! I've got the keeper thing figured out too (last year was embarrassing...)Manimal wrote:I like this league and do not wish it to fade away. Let's make an effort to revive it.

I got your trade batdad... hmmm, I'd rather have Ryan Callahan than Brandon Prust. Other than that one change I guess I would take Luongo from you. If you really don't want him anymore.

Cannot give up Callahan. Sorry.
Options are O'Reilly and Visnovsky, or a weaker forward and Seabrook.

Let me think about it a little bit. I'm hesitant about giving up Kane

And it does not have to be Kane. There are other forwards you have I would be interested in: Couturier, Henrique, Ovechkin (hah), Zetterberg (hah), Cole....but then it would have to be lower than O'Reilly and would may be lower than Vis as well.

Just tell me who you want and I'll propose a package that's somewhat balanced. I add up all of the fantasy categories and you seem to want more than you give...batdad wrote:And it does not have to be Kane. HCF traded Jonathan Toews, Chi C to Sloppy Slippersvisualdarkness wrote:I regret the Zetterberg trade after his strong finish last season.
HCF traded Dennis Wideman, Wsh D to Sloppy Slippers
SURA traded Henrik Zetterberg, Det LW to Franzen
SURA traded Ryan Suter, Nsh D to Franzen
I think it would have been a good trade if Toews wasn't hurt. That's what killed it for you. I think Wideman for Suter worked out because Green was hurt. You want him back?

Luongo, Seabrook or Visnovsky, and a forward (not Callahan, Carter, Marleau, Burrows) for the two players I have been asking for plus a goalie.
If you want Doan or Selanne as the forward...I cannot give you Seabrook.

Retaing Champion will try again next season
This is a great league, hope next season players wil be more active.
By the way, Eric and others. I have good D-men to trade and if possible I want to make some improvements on my roster.
Check my roster and who know... we could make some deals...

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
I'm hoping that Toews takes one mre step point-wise next season due to being young and his team getting better. The D trades though didn't play out as planned. I saw Suter going for a lesser role if switching teams and Wideman going to an all-offence team, niether did happen.timmy_t wrote:Just tell me who you want and I'll propose a package that's somewhat balanced. I’m now in! The Philadelphia FHC are now the WestCan Canucks…
FYI - I see five forwards I’m keeping for sure (Daniel Sedin, Joe Thornton, Patrick Kane, Mike Richards and Vinnie Lecavalier) plus I’ll be keeping goaltender Kari Lehtonen and defenseman Kimmo Timonen…..after that I’m not so sure

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
I don't see a deal happening at this time, as only Jeff Carter on your team interests me, but I wouldn't move any of my already mentioned players for Carter (and I already have 5 keeper forwards, so my "need" for Carter right now is not high)...maybe after the Draftbatdad wrote:Tried for 2 years to work a deal with Stinson. FYI I really try to have players I personally (subjectively) like and/or players I can watch on TV more often (Oilers)...i.e. I don't like Luongo, wouldn't want him regardless of how good his numbers might be (not saying you were offering him to me, just using him as an example of my "trade logic" or lack thereof HaHa)

Batdad, I really respect your online presence here but I don't think your being fair. I understand if you think that Ryan Callahan is worth more than Evander Kane. But how is Evander Kane worth the same as Brandon Prust? Yes, this was a six player deal but you're giving more value to Luongo than I have for him.
I'm sorry if I think that Evander Kane and Ryan Suter for Ryan Callahan and Brent Seabrook is a good trade. I told you before that your goalies don't interest me because we're all going to lose one before the draft anyway.
So please explain how I'm being selfish. I'm looking through all of the proposals you sent last year and you were asking for a lot. Evander Kane and Ryan Suter for Ryan O'Reilly and Antti Niemi? Please tell me how that's even slightly balanced. Here's another one: Evander Kane, Ryan Suter, and Joffrey Lupul for Ryan O'Reilly, Lubomir Visnovsky, and Roberto Luongo. Please tell me how Visnovsky is worth any of my defensemen that you are asking for?
I didn't grow up on hockey, play it, or coach it. I'm just a fan. I know that you have forgotten more about the game than I know, but I look at it like EHM, and a lot of the guys you're trying to give me are 2 to 3 star players and you're asking for 4 and 5 star players. It's all relevant, right? We each have a certain value for our top players and I just want more than you're willing to give.
Let's just take a break until the draft and see if we can work something out that makes both of us happy.

Re: Minstrel Hockey League 2011-12
Timmy--I do not think you are selfish. Just looking out for what you feel is the best for your team. No issue there.
That being said--I am growing tired of this league. People are valuing players based off media reports and not fantasy stats. People who finish well below me in the standings each and every season tell me I do not know what I am doing, and I overvalue my players and undervalue theirs.
This is insane==My horrible players do well ... clearly ....since I have finished in at least the top 4 each and every season I have some idea of what I am doing. Clearly, I value players for FANTASY hockey...not EHM, not hockey pools....etc.
There are some in this league who know what they are doing, but others (too many) who REFUSE to learn and adapt to what it takes to win a fantasy hockey game.
Therefore...I am leaning towards not playing next season. It is not fun any more.

Relax Batdad, when you bargain hard (a good thing for winning) you will make some enemies just like in real life. You are this leagues Brian Burke,
