And the Coyotes circus continues....
The deal with Reinsdorf died, so the NHL is going back to Ice Edge, whom they snubbed for Reinsdorf in the first place.
If the city of Glendale doesn't want to meet the criteria for keeping the team, from what I understand they will move the team to Winnipeg. Ice Edge would then move the Manitoba Moose to Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Shine on, you crazy diamonds!

As per TSN this morning:
NEW YORK -- Mets chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon has talked to New York Islanders owner Charles Wang about building an arena for the NHL team near Citi Field.
Wilpon told Newsday for its Wednesday editions that he spoke to Wang about trying to develop something "synergistic with Citi Field and a hockey arena."
The Islanders have been trying to get local government to approve a development plan that would give the team a new arena to replace Nassau Coliseum. Wang has become frustrated by lack of action on his proposal and said last fall that he would explore all options -- including relocation.
Wilpon says he also talked to Wang about the possibility of buying the team

There are rumours running around in Vancouver that the NHL is actually running the Islanders right now. Just like in Phoenix.
Oh, and it appears Coyotes returning to Winterpeg is shut down for now. Glendale voted 7-0 to cover something like $25 mill in losses of the Yotes...who knows?
There is apparently a schedule already being set up with Winnipeg in for next season..in the North West Division. Under this sched, Colorado is moved to Pacific with LA, SJ etc.

Willie Mitchell spoke to journalists for the first time since January. Pretty interesting stuff. He talked about his injury as well as his disappointment with Colin Campbell's handling of the situation.
Here's an article from the Vancouver Sun.
Here's the audio.
Video should be available somewhere on the Canucks homepage.

That would be DALE Tallon.philou21 wrote:Dave Tallon been named Panthers GM......well, I'm curious what contract will come in Florida.

Since he put together the current Hawks lineup, I expect the Panthers will be getting semi-respectable in fairly short order.

Not sure about "great". One could also say tanking for years helped a bit with the "building" process. It's really hard to fail when you're being given guys like Kane and Toews as a reward for being a loser.philou21 wrote:Yeah he done a great job at Chicago until the Hossa contract's......Hope he wouldn't do something like this in Florida.

That exactly it. If you're bad long enough and have decent drafting, you should eventually have a nice stockpile of prospects that turn into good young players.Danny wrote:Not sure about "great". tallon did not make the Barker trade. That was Bowman. And it sucked. Johnson has been hurt the whole time. Could have used Barker in Chicago.
But...Tallon gets alot of credit for that Hawks team, but the suckage they had helped alot. He did steal Versteeg and Sharp from Boston and Philly for sure though. We shall see...
