Lost the Stanley Cup final in my second season with the Canucks. An OT goal by Drouin in game 7.
Heartbreaking, just heartbreaking...
Current line-up:
Sedin Sedin Vrbata
Baertschi Jenner Toffoli
Higgins Bonino Hansen
Beck Nielsen Komarov
Edler Myers
Stanton Jones
Volchenkov Tanev
Allen
Markstrom
Toffoli for Kassian was a steal

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
I'm starting with the Devils and through 30 games we're in the mix for the bottom 2 playoff spots.
The team needs some young assets so I'm probably going to add a veteran and try to make a run, then begin a rebuild.
Torts is a perfect fit as my new bench boss.

We were going hard for McJesus with him and Miller in net. Putting Marky in got us on a run, we almost even made the playoffs in the end.

Eddie not well rated in EHM because of poor season last year (at the end in particular). Great guy, but #s in EHM not good. They will eventually improve as long as he keeps playing well.

So regular season with Sharks is over and it's playoff time. Here's some screenshots after regular season:
Top Scorers

D-Men top scorers

Goalies

That 70 goals by Ovechkin is way too much. And from the own team the D-men are a mystery to me. Never have I had D-men put up points like this... Vlasic 61, Burns 59, Braun 47

Yeah, it's quite clear that Forwards have way too high SH% and don't shoot enough while D-men shoot WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many shots and therefore get very inflated points....

Just made it to the WCF with the Coyotes. Defeated the Ducks in 7 in the first round, and defeated the Kings in 7 in the second round. Justin Williams with the empty net to seal it against his old team

Lost to the Sharks in the WCF 4 games to 2. Had a 2 - 0 series lead, but they rallied back with 4 straight. ](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)

Well, still doesn't say much since we don't know his roster, for all we know his 4th line might be Nash-Giroux-Kane =)

First season with Pens. Just finished all my pre-season games:
Bruins @ Pens: 1-10
Coyotes @ Pens: 2-8
Pens @ Bolts: 6-2
Pens @ Panthers: 2-0
Caps @ Pens: 3-5
Perfect pre-season and ready for the season!
Best trade I did: Kunitz + Zatkoff + rights Tristan Jarry for Nyquist + Tatár + DeKeyser (Red Wings)

Going with the Flames for the first run.
1st yr, Mar 19: 71-42-22-7-91pts(3rd West) - 253-217 - 17.7% - 81.8%
Favourite trade so far, Downie to PIT for Bouma. 39GP - 8pt - 195PIM. Haha, awesome.
Update: Finished 5th, beat SJS 4-1 in Qtrs, got smashed 4-0 by LAK in Semi's.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
So I'm busy playing NHL15's be-a-pro mode (in the CHL playoffs of my draft year), but I did manage to spend about 8 hours on this over the long weekend (probably closer to 10-12, but I forgot to set the start date to August the first time so I had a month to get everything in order instead of having to do it on the fly and didn't notice until I'd spent 2+ hours signing and inviting people to my teams).
It has, sadly, once again reminded me that the Brampton Battalion are now in North Bay, but I enjoy playing the OHL too much to not take that team there. Of course, I also have to take the Leafs and the Marlies, (the latter mostly because I hate having a farm team I can't control than because I want to play them), so I have 3 squads I'm managing at the same time.
I've gotten through 6 OHL exhibition games and am about to play my first Leafs exhibition game after cutting my 4 team, 48 player training camp roster to a 2 team, 34 player one (putting McLaren and Trevor Smith on waivers in the process). I've also put half the Leafs roster up for grabs (Kessel, Phaneuf, Lupul, Robidas, Brewer, Booth, Polak and Reimer and a couple others), though I've somehow only gotten one offer (Florida offered Quinten Howden and some B or C prospect for Kessel - I countered with Bjuqstad, Lammikko and a 1st - that was 6 days ago, still no response...interestingly, I was getting bombarded in the OHL with trade offers where I was constantly getting the same offer repeatedly after I rejected them outright, finally had to just put everyone as untouchable).
So far, the experience has been pretty similar to 07, though the interface looks a lot different. I expect the experience will change in the coming weeks and months.

I'm also just starting with the Devils. I thought they would be a real challenge, because in my opinion they have one of the worst current situations in the NHL. It looks like a long rebuild is ahead.peterman700 wrote:I'm starting with the Devils and through 30 games we're in the mix for the bottom 2 playoff spots.

Torts is a perfect fit as my new bench boss.
I originally played the first season as the Leafs, but since that game ended up having a lot of experimentation and learning how things work, I wanted to start fresh.

I'm playing Predators for 2 seasons. James Neal and Filip Forsberg are beast, in the first 2 seasons they got 80-90ish points. Pekka Rinne is also a beast in goalie with Fredrik Andersen deputised him.
But I still need top two Dman after I traded Shea Weber to Arizona for 1st round pick (McDavid!), Roman Josi is great, but still need a decent partner.
However, I got Stanley Cup in the second season

Finished my First full season in the OHL. Finished 22-39-7 as the Windsor Spitfires. Drafted a ton of players and got the Manchurek brothers on my team (since in reality I am related to both). But, can not find ANY signable players for the OHL teams because 90% of players are either Overaged or wanting to play collegiate hockey so I'm screwed.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
Currently finishing my 2019-2020 season with the Leafs. I'm about to call it quit and start over with a new team.
My Lears are way too strong, and it's to a point where it's ridiculous.
My results:
2014-2015 Finish 1st in standings. Won cup.
2015-2016 Finish 1st in standings. Lost in finals to the ducks.
2016-2017 Finish 1st in standings. Won cup
2017-2018 Finish 1st in standings. Won cup
2019-2020 Finish 1st in standings. Won cup
*I've also won the gold medal numerous time with team Canada, including in the 2017 olympics.
In my first 3 lines, all the guys are consistent 1 point per game players.
I usually have 4 or 5 guys over 100 points.
Nyquist, Kessel, Benn, Kovalchuk are consistent 60 goals+ / 120 points + scorer
Toffoli is a consistent 50 goals scorer (100 points +)
I have won all the major trophies every years. (Norris, Maurice Richards, Art Ross, Hart, etc.)
I always score a minimum of 400 goals per season and let in around 200. (While having a ~25% Power Play and a ~85% PK)
Current lines (2019-2020):
Benn - McDavid - Kessel
Kovalchuk - Nylander - Nyquist
Baertschi - O'Reilly - Toffoli
Pearson - Sheahan - Smith/Duclair
Josi - Weber
Morin - Vatanen
Emelin - Pulock
Bernier
Matt Murray
Matt Hackett
McDavid, Nylander, Morin and Pulock have developed really well.
Pearson, Duclair, Sheahan and Vatanen not so much...
I had a bunch of great players I needed to let go for financial reason (and prospect developing..)
JVR and Tavares are the two most notable. Kessel might be the next. He's asking for 10 millions per year.
(He obviously deserve it, considering he keeps scoring 60+ goals per year. He won the Maurice Richards and Art ross 3 of the last 5 seasons.)
But without the cap increasing, I'm kinda screwed.
Weber might also be on the move, as he's also an upcoming UFA and he's asking for about 10 millions also.
(Also deserves it. He won the Norris the last 3 seasons)

What did you do in order to have Nylander develop well? In my game not much seems to happen after almost three seasons playing in the AHL.

Re: How's it going in EHM:EA? What team are you?
I'm currently in my second year and in the western finals. First season Kings kicked us out of playoffs at the 1st round, now we face them in the western finals.
while we were killing each other in the west, the two eastern guys were so comfortable
:

I was not expecting this but a miracle happened. We have lost first two games at home, than we won the series by 4-2. It was incredible.

Now we are waiting for the Kings to take revenge

edit: we won the first game in overtime!
