I'm about to take a look at Espoo Blues and Washington Caps to see if the players are correctly rated and then give my own opinion on them.
Just wondering, what is the policy on players that have had a low season, but who have had better seasons in the past? Do we rate them according to their past seasons or just the latest one?

Sorry bud...Ovechkin sucks. GOtta downgrade him and Green to barely NHLers.

Ah. Good point. The past seasons should count more than the current.

Yeah no. The past seasons were completely out of the ordinary for both players. What they are is what they showed this year. Completely dependent upon a young Swedish centre.
While we are at it...Joel Ward? Um...serious downgrade. Troy Brouwer even more so. And that Vokoun guy is a total sieve.
I mean the Hershey Bears (Cody Eakin in particular) are better than half the Caps roster.

Vokoun's been okay. And I like Joel Ward's energy. I like him. Then again, I haven't seen him before he came to the Caps. I follow the Caps, no other teams. Close to 30 games watched so far. Only if the Caps is out of the playoffs, will I watch the other teams.

Ward compared to last year..horrible. And Brouwer too.
I am also teasing the rubbish out of you. And I just got to admit you have no business rating the Cap players, since you watch noone else and have nothing to compare them to.

Hehe. I know. That's what you always do. With everyone.
I might not know what they've done in other teams but I can compare them to their abilities in the game. The game I've played alot... with Caps.
Also, liking Ward doesn't mean I'll rate him as the next (last years) Ovechkin.

On CA, I used to take in the past three years and have the recent one mean the most and so on. I did not do that last year. That was due to the different members rating the players.
I haven't decided yet how to do with this season.
Remember, when looking at the Caps that nobody is rated on the 11-12 season

Ah, okay. Same goes for SM-liiga then, I suppose. Ratings only from up to last season.

Actually, Espoo has been updated. Them and Ilves, but no other SM-Liiga teams.Tasku wrote:Ah, okay. Same goes for SM-liiga then, I suppose. Ratings only from up to last season.

Ah. Well, I'll take a look anyway. You can use them if you like, or not. Unfortunately, once again, I've only been watching one team: Blues. So I wouldn't be much help with the other teams, except maybe a player here and there.

third off when is the next update coming out?? I keep reading about these QMJHL revamps and WHL revamp but I don't really understand what you guys mean by that. thanks a lot!!

Re: Manimal Rosters 2011-2012; Mistakes, omissions, tweaks e
Hi, a couple very minor things here:
I am a Canucks fan and I have a couple things I want to mention. I put my bias aside, especially here for the sake of realism and this game. I tweaked these attributes myself with the game editor so they're fine for me, but with the update itself...
Cory Schneider. I quick simmed the 11-12 season twice to get a feel for the patch and both times Schneider finished with a GAA over 3 and a sv% barely over .900. Schneider is arguably better than Luongo, he is definitely a #1, and I think his attributes and stats should show this. I edited a few of his attributes like blocker, glove, positioning and rebound control and put then 17/18, or into the green, and then simmed the season again and his stats at seasons end read: 7-3-0 2.30 .926. These numbers are more consistent with his numbers in RL.
Schneider is only 26 but he isn't expected to develop a ton more, is he? I don't want his potential kicking in and making him godly. I see technical attributes that I didn't alter have risen a point or two over the season.
Max Lapierre: In the last simmed season, Max only played 55 games and had 52 hits. In RL, he is currently 11th in NHL hitting and has managed about 2.5hits/per game ratio over the last three seasons. I feel his hitting attribute should be raised to reflect his real physicality level.
Anyway, thats all, it's no big deal though. Just minor things/nitpicking

Re: Manimal Rosters 2011-2012; Mistakes, omissions, tweaks e
1. Based on career past numbers. So Schneider from this year is not taken into consideration. He was NOT possibly considered better than Luongo last season so ratings are not perfect but not bad. He was not a typical backup so may not be perfect rated off last year but not as far as u suggest.
2. Hitting- not just based in hit attribute. Size in play aggression in play strength in play. A 6'4 250 lb guy with a 2 hit rating will have much higher hit total than a 5'11 190lb guy with a 20 hit attribute.
On another note. I love how guys say not homers but then only post things to make the team they are a Fan of better. Like why did u not tell manimal Edler should have lower consistency, or Kealer should have his passing lowered or Raymond be a 2 in everything not skating related, or luOngo should have mental attributes lowered, or...

Re: Manimal Rosters 2011-2012; Mistakes, omissions, tweaks e
Hey now.... Raymond is bad enough in the game already
I've finished one season and Burrows,Bieksa, Hamhuis,Raymond, Hansen all did real lousy. The Sedins were not terrible but certainly not great. Kinda funny that Alberts and Rome did better than Bieksa and Hamhuis. Maybe size does matter
The reason I'm only mentioning Canucks is that's the team i was mostly paying attention to. I actually could load up the game and run off a bunch of over-rated players like Ovechkin, Backstrom, Semin, and most of the LA Kings who came in second in the presidents trophy race and look like they might win the Stanley Cup. My question to Manimal would be how much of what happens is variable from game to game. Do most or all of the established players have set CA/PA's and only the young ones have variability. I know my tactics probably suck compared to a lot of people so that's probably a factor as well, but the Canucks were one of the most inconsistent teams I've ever played. Even the panthers game I played last year was more consistent... just a worse team overall the first few years.

Re: Manimal Rosters 2011-2012; Mistakes, omissions, tweaks e
Again, you can't rely on "quick sim" to give you decent simulation results, sorry. We've had people quick sim a season and Tyler Myers won the Art Ross with 98 points. The database only behaves well if you full detail sim things.C0medyClub wrote:... I quick simmed the 11-12 season ...
Trying to stay vaguely on topic, some players I'd suggest for the next release are:
Michael Del Zotto - led the league in plus/minus for a while, maybe a boost to his defensive side+CA+PA? think he could be pretty good in the future.
Alex Semin - not sure he deserves 170CA, maybe 160CA/165PA, but it's his workrate and teamwork that stick out most to me. Isn't he notoriously lazy and difficult to work with?
Adam Henrique - 51p in 74g as a rookie speaks for itself, better offensive attributes?
Max Pacioretty - similar to Henrique?
PA Parenteau and Matt Moulson - same again? Even playing with Tavares they've put up pretty solid numbers.
Steven Stamkos - I'd give him 20 for movement/off the puck right off the bat; he knows exactly where to be all the time, it's uncanny.
Carl Hagelin - didn't he win fastest skater in the skills competition? I think his CA and PA are about right but his technical attributes are too low for 130/145, an all round boost is needed.
Cam Barker - think the game overrates him, he's done nothing of note in the last few years.
Ryane Clowe - bit better offensively?
Jamie Benn - quite a bit better all round.
Feel free to criticise any or all of these suggestions. Also, thanks to everyone who helped with researching this, great job =)

Re: Manimal Rosters 2011-2012; Mistakes, omissions, tweaks e
I have created a lot of facepacks to the players inthe Swedish Elitserien and Allsvenskan. And I have found INCREDIBLE lot of people in the junior teams that shouldnt be there. Each team had 5-10 people who are too old to play junior hockey and now for example play in the division 1 or have quit hockey.
I really think that the Junior teams in Sweden will get a facelift for next season, there we will remove players who do not play in the team anymore, and add new ones.
I can help if needed.
