We're only 10 days into the first season, but things are going strong ... the first league is filling up, looks like I'll be having to create a new league or two this weekend. A lot of the early glitches have been ironed out and the simulation is running strong.

The first official update should be deployed this weekend, which includes a few little tweaks and improvements. This includes lockable training sliders, player info on tactics editing page, improved message notifications and an updated trade center. If you have any bugs to report or suggestions, please post in the game forum.

If you haven't checked it out yet, come and take a look at the newest hockey management game on the web: http://hockey-dynasty.com

No pressure to maintain that 4-0-0 start to the season

Well that was one heck of a game we had tonight, archanian. It was back-and-forth with the hitting and shots all game long, and then in the third the scoring exploded. I was relieved to see we were forcing you to overtime, until you went and scored at 57:59 to take the 5-4 lead. But then with 8 seconds left, mt defenseman puts on in to tie it back up. Definitely a crazy period.

Oh, and I swear I had nothing to do with Bednar's brawl-inducing elbow in the 2nd :-p ...

Penalty: 20:33
"Bednár delivers a vicious elbow to the head! He knows straight away he messed up, it's all gone horribly wrong and his opponent is out cold on the ice, Brisbane players have come from all over the ice to stick up for their teammate and it's chaos out there! That'll be a penalty for sure."

WOW what a crazy 3rd period! Crazy game all-round really ... 8 goals between us in the 3rd, and you tied it up pretty much on the buzzer, amazing!
Bednar's hit was nasty! Coach's instructions? :)

Then the shootout was epic ... 3rd round, Vang has to score to keep it going, and he does! Then in the 5th round, and who wins it for you? F*cking Bednar! The dog! Hahahaha ... great game that was so much fun to watch. Well deserved win for your guys.

Better yet, we've got two more games coming up on Sunday and Monday. Not a bad way to get a good rivalry going between two division rivals ;)

Which reminds me, I had my backup goalie scheduled to start in last night's game, but it appears that my regular starter got the start. I only have one tactics so far, and always hit 'Save' and 'Make default' after making changes to it.

What time did you make the change? Match tactics get locked in at midnight (game time) of match day, so if you changed it any time after that it would update the tactic but it won't apply to that game. There's a mention of it in the game guide but it should probably be made more obvious ...

I know this is not ideal, but currently the simulation needs to process match tactics during the daily update. Eventually I'm hoping to be able to move this forward so you can set tactics much closer to game time.

Won my first match with my team in OT, so now I'm 5-0-0. :-D

But I know it will screw up somewhere, it always does that in online games for me. :-p

Oh OK, then I'm sure that's what happened. I was tweaking my lines throughout the day right up to faceoff, so I'm sure the goalie switch was somewhere in there, and not before midnight.

I figured it was just my internet, but yeah, I'm getting this, too. It happens in both Firefox and Chrome.

Also, messages aren't being "read" in Firefox. Chrome is OK.

OK the training issue has been resolved, as well as the Firefox message reading issue.

Dani9 to answer your question about contract renewal, currently a player is very unlikely to sign for anything less than his asking price. In the future I am hoping to add some kind of loyalty bonus whereby a player who has been with your team for a while may accept a lower amount.

It's been a busy weekend for me, the first major game update has been rolled out which includes several improvements and bugfixes. This includes lockable training sliders and an updated training interface on the player page, player information on the tactics page, header notifications for messages/matches/trades etc, and a completely overhauled Trade Center. You'll want to clear your browser cache to see these changes. Full details can be found in the game forum.

Also, I'm hoping in the next hour or two the first round of free agents will hit the market.

It's been a hard slog, but I've finally finished a big update - the simulation has now been changed to remove the midnight cut-off for tactics editing.
From now on, tactics will be locked in 1 hour before a match starts. The simulation is stable and I'm happy with the results so far.

Additionally, a third league will be created sometime today as the first two are full, and we are heading quickly towards 100 managers.

There's plenty more to come!

Just been reading through this thread and from the feedback you've given after Stinson recommended changes etc and changed the appropriate ones accordingly, it certainly looks like you are committed to what the users think.

I'll be registering in a short while and will set up my team, just one question though, how does it work with joining during a season? are you placed in the bottom division and take over a AI controlled team?

You will take over an AI controlled team, however at the moment there is just the one tier, so you won't have to start at the bottom. Probably after the first season, I'll begin introducing a second tier and possibly a third, and then new users will have to start at the bottom and work their way up.

It seems quite nice, I like the layout, nothing too dramatic which is great!

Hi foxis, the leagues are full and playoffs have just started, it might be difficult to get a team but check back each day, inactives may be deleted.
At the start of the next season (in a month's time) I will be creating a lot more leagues, should be easier then. Sorry for the inconvenience, hope to see you in the game soon!
