Just after reading your post I read on RDS that he got a fine for that. I wasn't surprised at all, this is so him, we can't change him. It's fun from time to time to see two head-coach getting at each other troaths. We don't see that often now.
Well this is Patrick, he is intense, what much can we say? He showed his colors at his first game and sent a message that even if he is a rookie coach in the NHL he will not let people step on his back. That might not be the most elegant way to do it though but at least he tried to defend his young rookie who got almost injured and even Perry seemed to have started it after the final whistle by screaming things and throwning water at him. I don't blame him for answering back.

Well, fair enough, but keep in mind how conservative the NHL is and dude is responsible for personnel decisions and highly dependant on relations with other GMs besides being a coach.
philou21 wrote:"Conservative NHL." You nailed it and that's why I like he's there now. Breeze of fresh air and f u Bettman if you don't like it you fascist.

That's what you took from that?
I took that he's easily rattled and that if opposing players jaw at him and his bench all year he's going to lose it over and over again, and that he's going to rack up a bunch of bench minors and fines.
That's the only thing you took from my whole post? I think I explained alot of different aspects in my post just after what you quoted. You should re-read it. There was more than just that that started everything. I was waiting earlier a comment from you about that and there it goes. I'm not surprise you're probably going to rant at everything he's going to do this year.

Roy specifically told reporters he didn't talk to or yell at players, and only at Boudreau. This despite the fact there's plenty of footage of him yelling at Ducks players on both the ice and the Ducks bench, with Boudreau not even there. There is nothing to explain or defend. Roy's a fraud, a clown. His own players aren't going to be able to take him seriously after a while, he won't last the year.
I seem to recall another Avs coach screaming at an opposing bench and generally acting like a lunatic, and had all kinds of excuses about why he did it. Remind me where he's coaching now? The Swiss NLA?
I still am shocked that one day after opening night the media got all up tight about fighting in hockey again. They just wait for that sort of stuff so that they can rave on and on about how it has no place in the game. I am so sick of hearing them bring it up constantly. Between that and head shot talks I've lost a lot of interesting in reading about the sport. Same debate for years...

Yeah, at this point I haven't seen a Flyers fan that doesn't want Holmgren to be the one getting fired; people are getting (if they weren't already) pretty tired of his management.
There were many nice goals yesterday. Jussi Jokinens 1-0 goal, really nice! And well Tomas Hertl stole the show tonight with his amazing goal (will be one of the top goals this season if not #1).
