I found it quite easy to trade player+pick for better pick, ie unsigned prospect+10th rounder for 6th rounder, which kept me under the limit and improved my prospect pool. You can normally throw in prospects you're unlikely to play into deals and they seem to add value.

Won the memorial cup! Took down Rimouski, Halifax and Lethbridge! Am going to try jumping to a higher league (although I'm not sure how to turn on the Enhanced ECHL option now that I've started).

Learned a couple of new tricks last night and thought I'd share them. First, 6 or 7 of my players were invited to an NHL try-out. A couple of weeks later 4 returned. I tried to trade the remaining 3. Two had no value (20 year olds in their last season of eligibility), but the 19 year old was worth a second round pick. I hesitated hoping he would return. A few days later his value was zero (not even worth a 15th round pick). He never came back from his tryout. My conclusion, trade a player like this for all you can get on the day your other players return.

Second, I drafted two studs in the CHL import draft but like always - wasn't able to sign them. I found their trade value usually drops to zero after 1 season. This time I decided to try trading thier rights. I was surprised by how much teams were offering for them. I unloaded both of them for future draft picks and some young Ontario based players. I'll be surprised if the teams I traded them to are able to sign them.

Quick question about the AHL. Whenever I briefly check out one of the AHL teams. They always seem to have a roster of about 12 players. Is this a screw up in the game?

Do you run the AHL as enhanced or standard? It may come from that... :dunno: Also, do you have the latest patch, aka 3.0.3? Some roster issues were fixed in it, even if the concerns were mainly with european teams...

Anyhow, i play in the NHL, with the AHL enhanced and the latest patch, and everything looks normal in my game...

Please stay on topic; even if you want to ask a "quick question" if it's not within the original topic you should post it in a new thread.
