canucksfan94 wrote:I'm not sure if this has been tweaked already, but the one big issue I've always had with EHM 2007 was the way players regressed as they aged. It always seemed as though players would last far longer than they should, with your typical mediocre replacement-level player being serviceable until his late 30's, top-6 F's/top-4 D's into their 40's, etc. The game would be a lot more challenging if players peaked earlier and most were pretty much done by their mid 30's, save for the legit top liners and whatnot.
Player progression and attribute modelling has been tweaked. So it should be improved - but I'd say this is something the community needs to test and feedback upon.

This! The more customization, the better.

Champions hockey league
U18 National teams
NLA league (that wasn't in EHM 2007)
Leagues like Magnus Ligue, Belarus Open league, MOL league should also be in the game
Be able to hire coach for NT, I think that wasn't case in EHM 07
Be able to retire jersey (not manually, but that AI recognize club legend that should get that honour, no matter if NHL or some other league)
SPENGLER CUP (Please !!!!!)
I will post more ideas later

I want automatic continuation like in FM where you can choose the game to automatically continue if you dont touch it in 10 seconds for example. Its a little bit tedious to click continue 200 times during the summer.

I just hope that they will make more smaller leagues playable, like in Finland when they had three leagues in EHM07. And that they will make like FM,so you can make minor league for exemple in Sweden playable with a editor.

I would like the finance screen to be reviewed and reworked!
Especially the overview for the salary cap is a bit confusing in the summer (I mean in off-season) as it doenst't display the correct # of wages for all players that are IN your team, because it just sorts all players in organization and sums up the 23 that earn the most! For planing your roster it would be much better if you would see the sum of all wages only for the NHL team players.

Or maybe you should be able to run it with the board via the Board Confidence menu

I'm curious, it would be nice if you can add a button "Exit to Start Menu" where you can exit your save to go back to main menu to create new saves instead of exiting the game then had to start the game again?

I would like to see an Online mode that it is easy to go in and go out of and play with as many people as you want.
the players screen from ehm 07 i miss because when you clicked on it all the options where on the left now you got to go in a drop down list on the top right it is not a big deal just a little annoying when trying to resign call up send down.
another thing i played around for 20 + minutes trying to find UFA and Staff to sign ? any way to add a tab for these features ?
Thanks great job so far and loving the game!!!

I second that. It would be great to finally be able to upgrade online leagues from EHM 05.

Would be nice to have the scouting button in the top row and not just in the gm's dropdown menu.
Edit: this is kinda weird but on my main pc(win8) scouting button is there but on my laptop(xp) it wasn't. Maybe it's an xp or screen resolution thing?

I hope that the status of the teams will be more realistic, cause it was not funny when I played with Nokia and took them to the Finnish Gold. I started in the third league and won the highest after nine years but my status wasn't good , the player wouldn't sign with my team even through we dominated the league the past seasons

When scouting leagues playing NHL it would be nice if it kept the last country used instead of defaulting to USA every time you give a scout orders. That way I can scout the canadian leagues with 1 less mouse click and the switch to usa leagues and do the same..... pretty please

Would be nice if the training camp menu would be available sooner than 2 weeks b4 camp opens. Would then be easier to set up exhibition games, invite players etc. 1 month would be better IMO

I don't necessarily want to see that as an in-game option. I'd rather see that as a database setting. The way the game is running now we're seeing scoring very close to real life. I think it should be kept that way. I'd like to see it be adjustable though so that historical DBs can be tweaked to allow for more or less scoring/penalties. Things like a 1980's database would benefit from this.

Here's an idea... more of a pipe dream actually ... that I'd love to have in the game, if it is at all doable...
It'd be awesome if the game could generate jersey backs to display in place of player photos. Something you'd find at jerseydatabase.com for example.
Example:
In EHM 2007 I created these for my teams manually, and the idea has been with me since then. If my [very very basic] understanding of the game mechanics is correct, than you would need .PNG images for each team, for each of the following:
- blank jersey back template
- numbers 0-9
- letters A-Z, and possibly additional for Euro players
Again, I do not know if this is even doable, or how much work it would require. I just think it would add a great deal of immersion to the game to be able to see what a players jersey would look like for the team he is currently on.

I have seen so many great ideas in this thread and would love to see most of them implemented. EHM 2007 was the best game I have ever played, across all platforms and genres, imho (maybe because I am a huge hockey fan?).
One thing I didn't see here was more interaction and options regarding trades and contracts. I want a player to get back to me and explain WHY he won't accept my offer...too low of salary? Too few years? Too many years? Wants more signing bonus? Wants a bigger role? One of the things that really bothered me in 2007 was the boring and uninformative contract negotiations with my players and free agents.
Same thing with trading...I want the other GM to tell me exactly what he is looking for and to have the option to negotiate more realistically instead of wondering what is going on until he accepts or turns me down.

I like this idea, and could go a step further by assigning each Staff member an attribute that dictates how much feedback they give you during negotiations. Not only would it increase the interaction as you said, it would also add some variety when dealing with different GMs.

i'd like the nhl standings to change. in ehm07 we needed to see the conference standings because of playoff 1-8 seedings. Now that playoffs are divisional what we need is to have the conf. standings show wildcard. something like:
metro
1
2
3
atlantic
1
2
3
wildcard
7
8
9
...
16

I was going to suggest this also. I love that part of FM when you can really negotiate with a player or agent. Brings that GM feel a bit more. Being able to negotiate trades like that would be so awesome too.
I absolutely love the game in my limited time playing it. I suspect I'll have hundreds of hours in this game before I know it.
