It seems I will restart freshly with the TBL 9.0b rosters db, I messed things up it seems, although I didn't experiment much apart from players' contracts..

In order to avoid editing league rules, I decided to relocate Panthers to Nordiques, and keep Hurricanes in the game.
So, I will only edit Panthers => Nordiques stuff and players, no changes to AHL and ECHL affiliation (I'll edit the two teams accordingly).

Could someone provide a quick handout on the minimal things I need to edit ? I'm unsure about players' info and League rules.. (I tried various things ppl posted in this topic, I'm not asking to avoid testing things out but to understand what I'm missing to make it work ;) )

Update :

I successfuly edited the Panthers to relocate them to Quebec.
Affiliates are ok and new game works.

Now the players aren't automatically moved from Panthers to Nordiques, I need to edit each player's data.

edit: and here it is, I edited Roberto Luongo's club contract, and it made his player stat go grey in editor (making him non-player ???) and game crashes..
I don't know what's happening when I edit a player's data.. :(

Tried again to change players contracts, it keeps making the game crash...

It's frustrating and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong ](*,)

I've made a working database with Quebec/Duluth/Portland in for the Florida organization but I can't get the history name change to work.
If you can live with player histories being as Nordiques and them as runners-up to the 1996 Stanley Cup then I can send it to you.

I made the changes with the old pre-game editor so you'd need to import the db. Plus get working logos for your teams

The player data going grey in the Editor is a bug which I have fixed for the upcoming release. AFAIK it's just a UI issue and doesn't affect the underlying data in the database.

My suggestion is to get a working database up and running. Then make a few changes, test, make a few more changes, test again, etc. It's the only way of being able to narrow down the source of the issue. I'd be surprised if editing a contract would cause a crash, but of course there is always a chance I've overlooked something.

I tried again with the new version of the editor, which crashed when I saved for the first time after I created my teams... ](*,)
