i'm new, so it's possible i'm doing something wrong... any ideas?

It should (in fact, it will) work with the Mac. Are you running with the latest patch? You will need the latest patch.

Perhaps someone could clarify this, but isn't there a file you need to delete in order for a roster update to work on the Mac??? :-k

Noob question, where can I find the instructions to be able to change the game startdate for the new roster pack? Currently I have downloaded and installed the DB to the game but when I start a new game the only start date option I am given is for 2007-08 as opposed to 08-09 which is cutting out a whole year of stats.

Thanks in advance!! Great site, forum and files, thank you so much to those taking the time to create!!

Not to be harsh, but this is for like the thousand time or something that this thing is answered. :)

The start date is hardcoded and therefore it cannot be changed how much we would like to be able to do so. :(

Joe is right. This question has been answered many times before. If it's a "noob question" as you put it, chances are it's been asked and answered before. In the future please do a forum search (the little magnifying glass at the upper right corner of the screen) before posting questions.

I'm running it fine on a Mac. Didn't have to do anything other than drop the folder into the database folder.

(ETA: And it's great! Thanks Lidas!)

Thanks for the confirmation that it works on Mac, rogermexico

Cy - in your EHM 2007/data/database folder you should create a new folder and call it something like"Lidas0809". Directly within the Lidas0809 folder you should put the files from Lidas' update. In other words, open the RAR archive file and move the files from within the archive directly into the Lidas0809 folder. There should not be any further folders within the Liads0809 folder, just files.

Then load EHM and start a new game, it will ask you which database you wish to use, select Lidas0809 from the list. This option to choose which database to use was only introduced with the latest patch (version 3.0.4) and so you will need to install that patch if you haven't already done so. Lidas' roster update requires version 3.0.4 in order to work.

The only issue I've encountered so far is that Brodeur started the season with his long term injury, but then decided to retire a couple of days into the year. So the Devils are kind of screwed. On the other hand, there are a bunch of solid regens who will be coming up in the second and third year. :joy:

This is great. This will kill a whole lot of school time. Does this mean I can blame my failing school on you? :-)

Any timeline on the QMJHL and WHL?

Yes, Ive noticed the problem with injuries too. Ive had Brodeur and Gonchar retire due to injuries in the game Im playing/testing now. It would screw up team budgets, but I'm considering removing the injuries to avoid the eariy retirements. What does everyonr else think about this?

Sure, you can blame it all on me.

No timeline on QMJHL and WHL yet. Racicot is working on QMJHL and Manimal is currently improving the WHL research. As soon as they are finished I'll squezze it into the database.

I just finished updating/changing the Swedish league system (Div1, Div2, Lower divs, and five junior leagues).
Now I'm updating DEL (Got 51 players to create before it's finished) and the Slovakian League.

Would it help if we make the injury shorter? Maybe like 2-3 months?

Thank you for the update Lidas, will definitely kill my month off.

vanCanucks: You'd have to change the injury, injuries are hard coded to be x amount of days, with the potential for an additional x-amount of days...

But yeah I'd say try and change the injury maybe... Not necessarily remove it... keep it realistic that they're out, but I don't think the real Brodeur & Gonchar are retiring this season.

Good to hear you are working on Slovakian League as well. How far is it gonna be updated? Just rosters or minor unplayable leagues as well? I guess it all depends on availible information on web. Looking forward to it

I'm gonna limit the updating to the 12 teams currently playing in Extraliga I'm afraid. Its gonna be too many new players to create if I go too deep.

That's good enough. I really appreciate your hard work over the last months, and I am very keen to see the new version. Go Lidas!

Lidas, great work!!! Many thanks! I have a question concearning stats. 06/07 and 07/08 seasons stats are missed in the database. May be it is possible to record them somehow e.g. 1906-07 and 1907-08 in order to let every player have its real stats up to the beginning of 08/09 season? Yeah, I realize I will take a lot of time to do it, but...

PS I know there is another thread in the forums for suggesions. If you and other will like the idea, we can continue there.

Sorry, but there is no chance I would start something like that. It's WAY too time-consuming, just for cosmetic details. I spent months doing nothing else than updating player birth years, and updating histories would take even more time. (Well, maybe I wouldn't need to update ALL players). I'm sure many users would appreciate such an addition, but I'd rather focus on rosters, player abilities (and in time, maybe birth years for next season...)

I have no idea right now. It will take a couple of more weeks I guess. Depending on when the new challenge starts I might release a new DB just for that.

hello lidas! thanks for your incredible work!

I just have a question: is it normal that when I play with your roster all the players are born 2 years before than reality? for example, ovechkin is listed as an 1983!!!
