@Alessandro: I'm afraid you weren't that realistic, even if it looks so at first sight. The game did not have any significant sales in north-america, even with the licences. The most hardcore fans buying the game turned out to be Euro fans, who mostly don't care about the licences at all, as long as the game is good.

Maybe SI could not know that before releasing the game. Maybe they could and made a strategical mistake. Who knows? And who cares? It's the past. The past is dead. Welcome to the future. Now i think it's known that an unlicensed product would have a better chance to survive and develop through years. The amount of work that the game community is able to put on the project to unfake it is also known. With all of this in mind, there are not a lot of room to do otherwise that going with faked leagues if a new EHM was coming out at some point.

We known the quality of the work that the SI guys are able to do, so no doubt the game would be awesome and its hardcore fans would buy it. We know the community would do a tremendous work to unfake it, which should bring in some new users (ie casual fans). And we also know that if there are no licences, it would be way easier for SI to get some benefits out of EHM, so the game would survive.

Anyway, all of this looks a bit off-topic, so needless to say more. Especially since there's no new EHM on the horizon yet :(

I, for one, DO care about the NHL, but I would be more than willing to bide my time in another league (where I wouldn't know the players from a hole in the wall) for awhile until an unaking could take place.

I think many would. The game itself is worth it.

And, while we all know that there is no new EHM in the immediate future, I find myself encouraged that Riz broached the topic.

No, just don't use it in the first place. There is no excuse. Thanks
