What version of the rosters are you using?
When you start a new game, do you know how to select the new rosters?
Have you changed anything in the "Extra Config" file or used a Pre-Game editor?

Try and extract the Lidas 1.3 DB to your computer desktop. Then manually move the folder inside the extracted folder (it says LidasDB 1.3) to the proper place that I described.tazerwood19 wrote:Ok so right now i am using WinRAR and when i try to extract the LidaDB1.3 folder to the data/database it just gives my like 90 or so errors saying that "the system cannot find the path specified"
what to do
I'm trying to be exact because as I type this I'm doing the same thing on my computer.

It's normal RAR file. Read this thread. It's totally the same issue.bruinsfan27 wrote:I don't know much about this at all...I downloaded the file and it brought me to a downloads page and when i click on LidasDB1.3.rar it asks to search for where to put it on the web or open with microsoft office programs. Sorry for my stupidity but any help would be appreciated.

Lidas, what about new versioning of your roster updates? Let's say, LidasDB2010_v1, LidasDB2010_v2, LidasDB2011_v1 and so on... It would be easier to recognize the season they are made for. Just a thought...Lidas wrote:Not until next fall - when the new seasons start again.ehmfans wrote:when is 2.0 version?

I just want to thank everyone for their time and effort updating such a fantastic game although discontinued.. I know a lot of hard work is needed to get such up-to-date, accurate information on all the leagues.
It's easy to update one league but to have all the leagues up-to-date is mind blowing. Can't wait for the upcoming season's roster update.
Thanks again Lidas and Co..
PS - I am curious as to why SI or whoever is involved doesn't market this game in NA? Or at least Canada.. It would have been a great success, IMO, and maybe the game would still be around. Or was it not even a remote possibility?

Do a search and I'm sure you'll find a thread about them ceasing development on the game and why it wasn't marketed better. It's a much debated topic but essentially boils down to them not really having the kind of budget to make much of a marketing impact in NA and the people pirating the game killing it. Whatever the case, it's really a shame that it's not still getting new versions made. I'm just happy that we're getting these updates so we can try to keep the EHM hockey world going.masterandy wrote:I just want to thank everyone for their time and effort updating such a fantastic game although discontinued.. Lidas, I can add another idea
My first one is here (still unanswered
).
So, what about to keep the information about roster version inside the database? I mean, if you get some db (like the Calv's TBL CAS one) you don't know which version of starting roster was used. I suggest creating a staff member, let's say 20 years old, all attributes equal to 1 and not willing to join any team. This staff member could be called 'Lidas'
and in his Bio information can be written the roster version. Or even it can be in the name, for example 'Lidas 1.3'... This player can be easily found using the search field.
What do you think?

There is a difference between saved games and databases. A database (which is what Lidas' updates are) starts from the EHM start date in 2006. A saved game, like the one Calv released for the CAS career, is started from where ever the person playing the game left off. With the amount of editing that Lidas has to do on his updates, I believe it was decided that it really wasn't feasible to do with a saved game.

Guys, I think you don't understand me correctly.
I wrote about creating a man in Lidas' new db, who can keep the db information throughout all (saved) games based on this db. There can be db version info as well as any thanks Lidas wants to publish (the same as in the readme.txt in Lidas' rar). Creating one more simple man (player or non-player) shouldn't be problem.
Just an idea, nevermind...

If I name someone "Lidas2.0", that name goes into the name bank, and the game will (re)generate new players named Lidas2.0, so it wouldnt work. As for your first idea with the name change, its also a good one, but since I started with the 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 ... numeration, Id like to keep it consistant and name the next 2.0.
