That's interesting. I didn't know that they allowed something like that. This year I'm pretty busy but maybe in the future Archi and I could look at shared ownership. This definitely sounds like a perfect way for you to commish the OHL without having to run a team in that league too.

Wow that sounds like heaps of fun! I like the idea of working in a team with another user to run a fantasy hockey team. It'd be good for those who don't always have the time to take part full time in a league - perhaps those who'd otherwise have disregarded the idea of joining for that reason.

I'm really impressed with ESPN's set up. Prior to the leagues Brian has organised, I'd always played with Yahoo.

I just now saw my roster page since expanding to 23 rosters, and I got pretty excited! The depth of full rosters should be really fun.

I can't decide which LW to keep - Lucic or Huselius. Lucic is one of my favourite players but Huselius had a good season last season. My worry is that if I keep Lucic he'll get injured again. So I'm leaning towards Huselius... but it feels so wrong to let Lucic go. :-D

Lucic was injured a lot last year. He could bounce back with a nice season. Also keep in mind that most people are expecting him to play on a line with Savard and Horton. If he shows up in proper form, this could be a big year for Lucic!

I would keep Lucic. If he is healthy, he provides both points and hits. Huselius, not so much.

I'm having a similar debate in net. I was expecting Ward to be my starter last year, but he SUCKED. I was able to pick up Bryzgalov - who was awesome for PHX - but was it a one time thing? Can PHX really be that good two years straight? They didn't do much in the offseason. Not sure which way to go.

:help:

I would go with Bryzgalov, He was sensational!

Similarily I'm wondering wether i should keep Backstrom or Turco?

archibalduk wrote:Thanks for the explanation. That makes a lot of sense. My task for this weekend is to get my team ready for the impending draft.

I won't be changing the Boston Irish's team name - let's keep the legacy alive! I might create a new logo however... :-k

If B72 wants his team back next season (2011/12) then I'm happy to relinquish control - I'll just keep the bench warm for him! :D
With your record Archi...B72 will end up in relegation league. Oh wait, he almost ended up there anyway, so it will not matter! Heh.

All that being said, I may not have much time this season. The boss has got me working real hard. Ugh!!!

CatchUp-Ward...Never trust a team like Phoenix. One hit season...Carolina had a bad one, and will come back..kind of like what happened when they won the cup.

Archi--Milan. No question.

Well, I've gone with Lucic. All the comments in here have convinced me I'd be a fool not to keep him. My initial reservation is just how unlucky he was with injuries last year - I'm worried he's gonna be cursed like others such as Lindros (although of course that was all down to post concussion syndrome or whatever it's called).

Haha you're probably right :D

Shame you can't join this year. But I suppose that's one less user who'll be able to kick my ass!!

Thanks guys - I think I am going to stick with Ward and hope he bounces back.

Now - Kaberle or Rafalski?

Looking forward to this season / league - so much so I'm not going to play a Yahoo league this year!

I agree with b-dad, Kaberle definitely (have had Rafalski several times :-D ).

And CatchUp, I'm doing just like you - skipping an Yahoo league where I've played for some four years now. Want to concentrate on one thing (well, actually three things  ) considering virtual hockey.

I have a major dilemma with my keeper center. I have Toews and M.Koivu there - yeah, now everybody's saying Toews and not listening to me anymore - and I've been wondering if Hawks have weakened so much from last year I should pick Koivu? And what affect does Koivu's big contract have in his play? Five days to keep on wondering!

I've been mulling over my keeper selections in the last few days as well but barring any last minute injury news or similar I think I'm set now.

The noteable players available if anyone wants to move me up in the draft (or improve my LW/D) would be Fleury and Vanek I imagine but you may value players differently so have a look at my block.

My take would be points - Hemsky, other stats - Brown, gamble - Horton and meh - Hejduk. Horton could be huge in Boston (although less so if Savard remains sidelined) or he could keep doing what he has been doing in Florida in which case he is still pretty solid if he can stay healthy.

Hejduk rocks! And once Hemsky is healthy, he scores a lot of points. Big things are expected from Horton this year but I'm not sure.
Overall, I'd keep Hemsky.

Hemsky was awesome until he went down last year...

St. Louis or Kessel

Edler, Pitkanen, Gonchar or Robidas...

I'd go with gonchar and Robidas. St. louis should have a good year.

Backstrom or Turco? Turco should get a fair workload but is he worth it?

Manimal: I would take a chance on Horton. He is on a much better team this year and Hemsky is dodgy injury wise. Plus, I don't share the high expectations everyone has for the Oilers this year - Whitney is far and away their best D and that isn't going to get them too far.

Getz: Kessel and Gonchar are solid bets to be decent. I have a feeling St. Louis is tailing off a bit...

Eric: Turco. He will get wins for sure. How his other numbers could be questionable, but the Hawks can score enough to get him the W's.

So things have changed...no Savard...Still going to recommend Horton and Lucic? I would recommend Lucic over Huselius still, but not Horton over Hemsky or Brown. I think I would keep Brown.

Keeper deadline is tomorrow at 3:00 PM Eastern Time! Only one more full day to give those keepers some thought!

That also means the 2010 Draft is only one week away, October 2nd at 3:00 PM EST.
