From the sounds of it, he never really got much of a chance to play in Toronto and never fit in with the team. I'm hoping he can do something in Boston. He's certainly got some offensive flair! What's his contract situation? How much does he make and how much longer is left on his contract?E5150_ca wrote:archibalduk wrote: The B's have picked up Czerkawski from the waivers. Not too bad an acquisition I must say. I've always been impressed with the way he used to play for the Islanders. I hope he can make a big impact for us
Good luck with him, more often than not he was a healthy scratch in Toronto. Maybe he just didn't like the city.
The trade that has really wowed me is the one where the Kings got Parrish and Sopel! I know Parrish is a rental and Sopel is making big money and not producing but... this deal sounds like it made the Kings much stronger!

Mika Noronen to the 'Nucks in exchange for a 2nd.
Atlanta's Rico Fata was claimed by the Caps and the Hawks' Andy Hilbert went to the Pens.

It's not an actual trade but it puts to rest some trade rumors...
Panthers re-sign Jokinen.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have a pending deal involving Mark Recchi going to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Niklas Nordgren, Krystofer Kolanos and a second-round pick in 2007.

I must've been posting the Witt info the same time as you. Sorry for the duplicate.
So there really wasn't much of a risk for the Bruins to pick up Czerkawski. If he stinks up the joint, they can just not try to resign him. What's really getting me is that I haven't heard about any trade activity from the Bruins. They should be sellers at the trade deadline. They need to ship out Samsonov so they get someone in return. You know he's going to leave as a UFA. They might as well get something for him.
