Something like that, i'm purely guessing here but i think term was the bigger issue then money for Ducks.. They will miss him though, not sure who they want taking his ice time, if it's Bieksa then they are in trouble. Lindholm-Beauchemin was their top pair from what i saw atleast and they were really really good together.

I've seen somewhere people speaking about the Yotes moving to Las Vegas?! I hope this is just rumors.

Saw the rumors, Bettman won't do it unless it's the final option though, too much money in an expansion to move a team to the city that's leading the race towards the expansion...

Boyd Gordon to Arizona, Edmonton gets Korpikoski.
I think Edmonton won that trade.

Lateral move, would say Arizona "wins" it because Gordon only has 1 year left on his contract while Korpikoski has 2 years
Looks like the Vegas thing was just a made up story by some NY Post guy that's in trouble now. Everyone has denied it including his boss

Ribeiro stays in Nashville for two years, 3.5 per year. I think the value is good for a guy who just made 62 pts.

Wasn't Ribeiro involved in some big lawsuit from his family's former nanny involving sexual assault? I'm really surprised they'd want to re-sign a bad apple like that.

I think the charges were dropped or something. He seems to be better since he's in Nashville, he did a therapy when he was in Phoenix IIRC.
Beauchemin goes to Colorado! I hope they did not overpaid him but his arrival is definitely welcome in the Avs defense!
Edit: Well, 4,5 per year. A little bit too much IMO 4 would have been just fine.

Sekera to Edmonton for 6 years, 33M$. That's wayyyyy too much for him, even if he's a good defensive d-man.
Martin to SJ.
Parenteau to Toronto LOL

Kessel to PITT is done McKenzie is saying. Don't have any names yet. Edit: Toronto gets 1st round pick (2016 I guess?) Kapanen and Harrington. I don't really know those two prospects but it doesn't seem much for Kessel.
Frolik to Calgary I heard too. Edit: 5 years around 4.3M$

Re: Officlal lead up to 2015-16 season thread
Update on Kessel: Kessel, Tyler Biggs, Tim Erixon and 2nd in 2016 for Kapanen, Harrington, Spaling, 1st and 3rd picks in 2016. TOR retains $1.25M/year. (From McKenzie's Twitter)
Sather will quit his position of NYR GM.
Hodgson to Nashville it seems.
Vancouver traded Kassian. I had a feeling it was to MTL and it IS to MTL that he's traded.
For Prust and a fifth rounder.

He's not a defensive d-man, he's a puckmoving 2-way d-man and that's a very reasonable contract imo.philou21 wrote:Sekera to Edmonton for 6 years, 33M$. That's wayyyyy too much for him, even if he's a good defensive d-man.

Edit: Beauchemin will be really good for Avs, 3 years might be 1 year too long though, have no problem with the money.

I dunno. I know he's really reliable but not even 25 pts I think. 5.5 is ALOT but hey, that's how it is now so.

He spent most of the season in a AWFUL Canes team though, i like that contract for Oilers. Sekera is a great puck mover.
Glad to hear that Sather finally steps down and let's Gorton take the reigns.

Penguins fan raging: How much are we going to give up trying to find the 'right' wingers? We've been mortgaging the future for 8 years, which is why we don't have any of the 'right' wingers in the system. (And firing the only GM we've had that could draft- Patrick- hasn't helped). Guys like Despres, Samuelsson, Guenin, a 3rd round pick to fail to sign Hamhuis... the few times we've actually had a pick in the first two rounds about all but two have been traded (Pouillot and Matta may be all we kept in like a 8 year span...)philou21 wrote:Kessel to PITT is done McKenzie is saying. Sigh. If Kessel finally works out, great, but I'm downright terrified of where we'll be in 5 years if at some point we don't hold onto our own prospects. Letang may be the only one post lockout that we actually kept to his prime.

Kessel could do fine easily with Crosby or Malkin. I would be more worried about his attitude in the long run.

Happy with Rangers work so far, Diaz as 6/7/8th D-man for $700k and Stålberg for our bottom-6 for $1.1M, very happy with that, Stålberg is a Corsi-monster.

Green to Detroit for 3 years. Heard it will be around 6M$ per season.

Yeah, decent deal for both... For Detroit they can make a final push with Z and Pavel and for Green he can get his status as one of the top offensive D-men in the league and still have time to sign another big contract when this is out.

Well, to be fair he's had less ice-time, haven't been a main stay on the #1 PP either so that explains some of it.

And I'm guessing that's why the Rangers wouldn't let the Bruins approach Gorton about the Bruins GM position. Many people in the Bruins organization wanted to Bring back Gorton.Peter_Doherty wrote: Glad to hear that Sather finally steps down and let's Gorton take the reigns.

Yeah, that's probably true... I like Gorton so i like this move... I guess you would have liked Gorton back instead of Sweeney?bruins72 wrote:And I'm guessing that's why the Rangers wouldn't let the Bruins approach Gorton about the Bruins GM position. Nashville acquired Max Reinhart.
