Strange savegame attribute numbers

Post by maxrsp »

Well I just read through the entire 12 pages of this thread and have one question and one observation:

Q: Knoeppel, did you ever get an answer to your question on the odd attribute numbers in the savegame editor? I have the exact same problem and it is why I searched through this thread in the first place. Sadly, the answer (if there is one) doesn't appear to be here. Did mne2 answer you directly?

Obs: This thread is very disjointed and hard to follow having question after question merged into it... I don't know how much work it would be but I humbly suggest the site devs create a forum category for the pregame and savegame editors (a peer structure to this Editing & Game Add-on Forum) that we could then ask specific questions in their own threads.

Thanks!

We're very awear of long threads getting hard to follow and try to separate them into separate threads as they grow too big best we can. Thanks for pointing this out, we might have to shred this one too.

I have a document somewhere on my pc which was on my site (eastside uk) before it shut down which gave some sort of explanation on the 'funny numbers' in the saved game. I'll try and hunt it down and post it here.

When I try to create a player in the editor, all hell breaks loose. I set most of his attributes to 20, and saved the database. When I see the player in the game, his attributes are mostly 8. What's going on?

It could be that you forget to set his current ability and potential to a high value (maximum is 200). ;)

editing questions: budget, cash, juniors

Post by redrobert81 »

well i have rebuild my european leagues quite a lot. and it seems to be running smoothly now. so this brings me to my final changes:

club cash and play budget: i can change it in the pre-game editor. but somehow it won't get over to the game. it seems the budget is always near the salary of the players in the team. can i change this? or should i simply put the numbers to 0? would it then be random?

second question: in introduced a few teams normally not in a playable league. shall i give them a junior affiliate? would the junior team create new players. i am only speaing of european leagues here and it should create young players every season or so and i don't know if youth teams do this

i am hoping on answers as i am looking forward to playing with my new leagues. i might wright a story about it too, if i find the time

Yep that is the problem. There are issues with Windows versions below 2000 and List Boxes being limited to 32,767 entries. Sorry but there is no way around this without upgrading windows.

Create and delete players?

Post by Reave »

Hi guys, I got some questions about create and delete players.

1st: Three times I accidently saved my database after pressed 'add new', so now I got three players (that I changed to 'Invalid' twice, so they wont be in the game). Is there anyway to delete them? There is a 'delete' buttom, but it cant be pressed.

Next question: Im gonna create the players for Färjestads junior team (J-18), I'm not sure what numbers to have in 'Staff attributes', 'Player details' (ability, reputation) and 'Player attributes'. I have seen the guide on thebreakaway, but it's to much for me to creating this juniors. Can i just leave everything on 0? They wont be good, but atleast I got them in the game.

And the last: Im thinking about changing these three created players to three of the juniors in the J-18, but I cant get the 'Non-player details' and 'Non-player attributes'-parts away, will that affect the juniors anything in the game?

Thanks for the good job you do here guys.

I've merged your topic here, because this is the Editor topic, although admittedly it has grown kinda large and hard to follow.

Nonetheless, I remember all of these questions have already been answered and I'm pretty sure that you could find these answers within this thread, if you browse thru it.

I'll give you a few quick ones though:
1st: Three times I accidently saved my database after pressed 'add new', so now I got three players (that I changed to 'Invalid' twice, so they wont be in the game). Is there anyway to delete them? There is a 'delete' buttom, but it cant be pressed.
You can not delete players, you can only replace the old with a new player, even though such a button exists in the editor.
0 means random value. And yes, most of them will not be good, but some stars may develope among them. Although it's not very likely.

Then again, this is quite realistic -- most juniors never make professional.
And the last: Im thinking about changing these three created players to three of the juniors in the J-18, but I cant get the 'Non-player details' and 'Non-player attributes'-parts away, will that affect the juniors anything in the game?
I'm not sure I understand this question... :-k

It won't affect them at all - all it will mean is that in future if they ever make it to retirement there is a chance they will become a coach or GM etc

Reave i normally depend that Attributes numbers on how old that player is, (I try to find a scout report), and i look at there statistics. I have added Jacob de la Rose into my game as a start for Farjestad as i believe he is the next BIG swedish player. But if you need help deciding on players, drop me a PM.
