Updating the history in Manimal v4.1 - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The St. Louis Blues should be done by next tuesday. I've had a hard time finding +/- for playoffs and for some lower leagues, so for some players histories I set those at 0. Is that going to be a problem?

Where are you looking? tsn.ca has plus minus, but I know that hockeydb doesn't have playoff +/-

Just set anything you can't find to a 0 like you say.

If you're referring to +/- for the NHL Playoffs, these can be found on nhl.com and tsn.ca.

Just to clarify: When researching player career histories for a team, you should go by the team's roster in Manimal v4.0 and not the current real life rosters. We are looking at all contracted players and not just those currently on the NHL 23 man active roster, etc.

To find all contracted players in the Editor, you will see them in the far right hand column in the Staff History Menu. If you're using the spreadsheet method, you will find the team's roster in the Player_list.xls file.

The reason for this is to avoid two users researching career history for the same player because this would result in duplicate entries in the game.

In order to ensure that we get each league complete, I think we should concentrate on teams based in the following leagues to start with: NHL, AHL, ECHL, OHL, QMJHL, German DEL, Russian KHL, Slovak Extraliga and Finnish SM-Liiga. Once we have covered all of those teams, we can decide whether we want to end the project or perhaps research a couple more leagues.


RED = This team has become available again as the original researcher is no longer able to complete the research.
GREEN = Data researched and/or entered into the Editor.
BLUE = Archi has received the data and imported into the Manimal Rosters.

I have nearly completed my three NHL teams and will have them added to the database in a short while today. I will then take LA Kings, Pittsburgh, Providence and the remaining 50% of Carolina.

It's great to see plenty of blue text in our list of teams (I've updated the previous list again). We're now 50% through the NHL!

Sounds great! We'll be running this project for a while and so a week or two is absolutely fine. I'm just glad to have the volunteers!

Don't worry about the OHL trades. You should just go by the players contracted to the OHL in the Access DB (even if they have since left the OHL team). Those players that have joined the OHL since Manimal v4.0 / the Access DB can be picked up another time (because it is the only way we can prevent several people researching the same player).

Hey there, i've been following this thread for a few weeks now and since i've have a lot of free time for the next month or so figured i could help out.
So i decided to fill in the gaps where possible starting with the AHL, i believe theres about 8 teams left to do so i figured i could start there.
So mark me down for Abbotsford, Charlotte, Hamilton, Hershey, Houston, Manchester, Peoria and Syracuse.
Since they all have small numbers of contracted players i should be able to finish this within the next day or two.

I have completed and added to the database the following: Carolina Hurricanes, LA Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins and Providence Bruins. We're almost 65% through the NHL.

So far we have added approximately 13,000 new career history entries!

As all of the NHL and AHL teams have been taken by other users, I'll put my name down next for some ECHL teams: Adirondack, Bakersfield, Bridgeport, Chicago and Colorado. I'll also research Mike Murphy (Carolina Hurricanes) as it seems I missed him off by mistake.

So just a question because i'm new to it: I edit it in the "Manimal 4.0" roster with the Pre-Game-Editor, and then send you the edited roster? All files or just the staff_history.dat?
