Indeed, i would be thrilled with just Kessel for him. :-D Supposedly The B's are now after either Derek Morris or Tomas Kaberle rather Pronger, and St Louis are trying to signal their intent by going for Pronger. Who knows, we can talk all day about trade rumours there are that many, i guess we'll find out on wednesday. :-D

And how about those Predators hey, 8-0 win over Detroit, 5 in the first 11 minutes.

The Preds are considering sending Bonk and a 1st for Antropov and a later pick.

Good deal for both sides if it happens.

I went looking on HFboards after reading your first post about Pronger and Moen for Kessel, Stuart, Colborn, and the 1st rounder. I saw the same except it didn't include Kessel. I read "a roster player" with most saying that it wasn't Kessel (and these were local hockey journalists). You're right though. It's all talk until Wednesday.

I don't know if the Maple Leafs will want to trade Kaberle within the division to a riva. I read about Morris wanting out of Phoenix though. He's sitting out until them because he doesn't want to be injured and lose the trade opportunity. We'll see what happens.

That Preds and Leaf deal could be a good one for the Leafs. I don't value Antropov that high.

Gurein yanked from Isles lineup today. WIll be told tomorrow where he is headed. Morris not going to play for Phoenix again before deadline and if moved never again. He has provided team with a list of teams he will waive his NTC to go to. So does not get hurt, will not play. If Phx cannot move him will be back in lineup after deadline.

I like Antropov, big, can score, can assist. Quite a few leafs have been named as possibilities of being traded, Kaberle, Kubina, Stajan, Steen. Stajan has picked up his game a little this year, wouldn't mind having him either.

The whole Leafs team is available. Except Schenn.

Red Wings might be thinking about buying a goalie... Osgood has been horrible this season, and this 8-0 against the Preds certainly didn't help. Kari Lethonen seems to be available, and the Flyers are rumored to be highly interested in his services. Don't know why though, as they already have Biron and Niittymäki. Would it mean any of those would be available? Might interest the Wings... However, i doubt Detroit will make a goalie move. They've said all season long that they are confident in Osgood, and last night's game was... well... just a game. Clearly not his best one, but just a game.

1 of Khabibulin or Huet could also be available, but Khabby is injured at the moment.

Last night vs. the Preds had nothing to do with poor goaltending. The Preds played a very good game, but if you watched the game, the Wing's goalies weren't bad, but the rest of the team phoned it in. Allowing the Preds break-aways, walking straight to the net, coming off the half-boards unopposed, bad turnovers... Wings just didn't show up last night, got manhandled physically and the goalies paid the price. Lilja's "fight" with Weber was anything but inspiring, need another Aaron Downey type and a big punishing defenseman to made opposing forwards nervous about crossing the blue line or standing in front of the net more than another goalie.

With the skill and system that the Wings have, they don't need a Brodeur to go deep, but it also means that they can't get outworked as badly as they did last night and stay in games. Hats off to the Preds, they deserved the win.

Is trading a bit quiet this year, or is it me?

All the rumours i'm seein is about Boston. Now they're after Tomas Kaberle, supposedly offering their 1st and 3rd picks, as well as Joe Colborne for him.

Yeah there have been very few moves so far, but GMs expected it. Several factors: with such a tight battle, is hard to divide teams between sellers and buyers as everyone wants to make the playoffs + financial situation in the world. I hope there will be a couple of interesting moves before the deadline passes...

What about the Trashers? They have a lot of players they could trade, e.g Kovalchuk :-k

Actually I'm at the point where it doesn't matter who gets traded as long as they trade someone.
I'm tired of all the rumours and don't even pay attention to them anymore! =;

Yeah, with the emergence of Pavelec this year, a few rumours are floating around about Lehtonen too. Even when the Thrashers are buyers, they don't make the playoffs.

Thrashers are definitely not buyers this year. They already offloaded Schneider and now Havelid.

Wow! The NHL in real life is starting to look like EHM. Took real life GMs a couple years to catch up to Riz's AI apparently. So maybe it is not the AI that is the problem, it was real life GMs??? :-D

The NHL is waiver wire insane at trade deadline

Waivers today and yesterday:
Sean Avery (DAL re-entry) - Claimed by NYR

Lawrence Nycholat (VAN) - Claimed by CGY

Tom Preissing (LA) - cleared?

Martin Gerber (OTT re-entry)

Brenden Bell (OTT)

Craig Adams (CHI)

Gary Roberts (TB)

Miroslav Satan (PIT)

Bill Thomas (PIT)

Aaron Voros (NYR)

Brendan Morrison (ANA)

Jon Sim (NYI)

Joe Callahan (NYI) - cleared

Steven Goertzen (PHX)

Peter Olvecky (MIN)

Erik Reitz (NYR)

Eric Perrin (ATL)
In the past do ya think some of these guys (Morrison, Satan) would have had some trade value? At least a 4th? I mean, wow. This is insane.

I would give more than a 4th for both, although Morrison has been dissapointing this year. I had no idea that they were on waivers, they could be decent assets to a team. I'm looking forward to the next 24 hours.

Backstrom stays with the Wild - signed a four-year contract extension worth $24 million!

Huh, that's a lot of money! It seems they expect Gaborik to leave the team at the end of this season. :-k

I've read that Ottawa sent Vermette to the Blue Jackets for Pascal Leclaire.

They're also saying that the Ducks have taken Pronger off the market. Were they not getting the kind of offers they had expected?

The Bruins sent Nokelainen to Anaheim for Montador.

A bigger splash was Phoenix sending Jokinen to Calgary for Lombardi, Prust, and a 1st. Calgary is really trying to do something.

Yeah, what I'm hearing is that Calgary is going to have to move some salary now. I was just reading something in a Bruins forum where a poster suggested the B's go after Cammalleri. That could be interesting.

Now I'm hearing that Mark Recchi is a Boston Bruin. I haven't heard who for though.
