Because when the original game came out....there were fewer teams in the AHL. No way to code extra teams in the league into the game after wards. In the WHL the Calgary Hitmen are not in the league, because they finished dead last the previous season. I assume that is the same reason Albany would be chosen to go to ECHL as did Bridgeport and someone else in the past. There are more teams now...but cannot put them in the AHL....just life. It has been written about 10000000000 times Mufred. Have a read through the site and welcome aboard.

i would edit the history stats for players from the "Krefeld Pinguine" in "Deutsche Eishockey Liga".
So just a question because i'm new to it: I edit it in the "Manimal 4.0" roster with the Pre-Game-Editor, and then send you the edited roster? All files or just the staff_history.dat?

No, you don't use the Pre Game Editor. You can do one of the following:

Just to clarify: When researching player career histories for a team, you should go by the team's roster in Manimal v4.0 and not the current real life rosters. We are looking at all contracted players and not just those currently on the NHL 23 man active roster, etc.

To find all contracted players in the Editor, you will see them in the far right hand column in the Staff History Menu. If you're using the spreadsheet method, you will find the team's roster in the Player_list.xls file.

The reason for this is to avoid two users researching career history for the same player because this would result in duplicate entries in the game.

In order to ensure that we get each league complete, I think we should concentrate on teams based in the following leagues to start with: NHL, AHL, ECHL, OHL, QMJHL, German DEL, Russian KHL, Slovak Extraliga and Finnish SM-Liiga. Once we have covered all of those teams, we can decide whether we want to end the project or perhaps research a couple more leagues.


RED = This team is available for research.
GREEN = Data researched and/or entered into the Editor.
BLUE = Archi has received the data and imported into the Manimal Rosters.

Although in the player histories we will list the teams according to their correct real-life league at the time. E.g. if a player played for Albany in real life in 2009/10 then he will be listed as playing in the AHL with Albany for that season in the history.

I've just sent messages to Kabbott50 and Isles22 because I noticed they had put themselves down for Adirondack and Bridgeport under the AHL. However I have already researched these teams because I didn't notice that they had been taken. The source of confusion is that they had put their names down under the AHL list (which is their real life league) whereas I'd put my name down under the ECHL list (which is their in-game league). I've sent a PM to both users asking them not to research these two teams - and I have updated the list.

I can't find the U.S U17 and U.S U18 teams in the database and don't really know what league the USDP is. Do I just add the U.S. National Development Team games to his history or what?

As for the U18 and the USND Team, I think they might be regarded as the same thing in game (because the abbreviation for the full team is actually USA U-18). They league they play in is the United States Hockey League.

I've completed six ECHL teams plus a player I missed from the Hurricanes. I'm not sure how I managed this, but I inadvertently researched Cincinnati Cyclones in addition to the five ECHL teams I planned to complete. I'd better inform Myhthrell!

I'm going to update some goalie histories for the Winnipeg Jets as I have been meaning to fill some gaps from the initial research. I'll then work on updating the NHL team records so that we can get rid of those annoying record-breakers when starting a new game. As the career history research is a priority, I will only be updating the NHL (but perhaps we could do the other team records at a later date in a future version of the Manimal Rosters). I'll then be replacing the UHL league history with the SPHL league history. Then I'll get back to helping with researching the player career histories - in particular I will do some of the top UFAs (maybe top 50 or so).

Ah that's my fault.

In which case, set the team as _blank for the U17s and set the league to United States Hockey League. This is more-or-less correct because both the U17 and U18 play many of their games in the United States Hockey League (as per Wikipedia).

Please feel free to take your pick from any of the following:

1) There are some SM-Liiga teams that still need researching (as per the teams that are listed as red in the list further up in this thread)
2) The Central Hockey League (CHL)
3) The UHL (well technically they're SPHL teams but they have been moved into the UHL in the Manimal Rosters as the UHL no longer exists)
4) Top free agents.

With regards to the free agents; if you would like to do any of them, take your pick from the screenshots below. Each screenshot lists 26 players. If you want to take a screenshot then you will need to research ALL of the players listed in that screenshot. The screenshots will need to be completed in order so that we prioritise the most highly reputed players. To be honest, it's probably best to leave the free agents to last because they'll be the most time consuming (it'll take time to find each player in the huge list of UFAs in the Editor / spreadsheet).

Furthermore, I can't get the editor export the csv. file so is it OK just to send the accde. file?
