Have a bug or feature request for the EHM Editor? Post them in the EHM Editor thread. Please start a new thread or post in another thread if you have a question about how to use the EHM Editor.
Given the large number of questions on similar topics, we ask that you start a new thread for a new question unless you can locate a similar question in an existing thread. This will hopefully ensure that similar questions do not get buried in large threads.

I can't tell from an error message alone as to what the issue is. You need to describe exactly what you edited.
You need to change all of the Saved Game settings on the Settings -> Maintenance screen to disabled. This will not however fix your game (it will just ensure no further games are corrupted).
I will start a new thread later/tomorrow with some information on creating new playable leagues and so that we can share our experiments, findings, etc. In the meantime, here's the changelist:

Fixed in-game crash when adding new clubs to the database;

Fixed various default values when creating new affiliations, arenas, clubs, club competitions, nations, staff awards and transfer rules;
Minor performance improvement when reading databases and saved games;
Officials can now be created;
Prevented false error appearing in the logger when saving databases; and
Updated Professional Status settings on the Clubs editing screen.
Not all of the Club Competition Basic Rules data is entirely user-friendly at this stage as various definitions are not yet known;
EHM 2004-2007 support not fully operational;
Not all data can be added or deleted yet (an error message will be displayed where this is not possible);
Clicking on the Cancel button when viewing the Open Database/Saved Game dialog will disable the Open buttons, requiring a restart of the Editor;
The mouse cursor does not change when hovering over certain editing fields which makes certain tasks, such as editing Club Contracted/Playing For, not immediately obvious (the field should be clicked on in order to display the selection dialog window);
The improved table display has not yet been rolled out to all tables/screens;
Table column widths have not yet been set (and will frequently appear too narrow/small);
Certain icons could be improved/replaced;
Drop-down menus are all sorted alphabetically which is not always appropriate;
Set a non-player's Nation Contract is completely untested and may cause a crash;
Altered club competition names do not carry across the various editing screens;
Only csv/txt file formats are supported at the moment; and
The default file format and editor text settings do not currently work.
Just tried to add a Las Vegas team to the Pacific and a Kansas City team to the Central after changing the number of teams in the NHL to 32 in the structures screen, but it looks like it didn't work and I'm now stuck on a greyed-out Select Options screen. Is that because increasing the league size isn't/will never be supported or might I have just done it wrong?
You have to update the structure settings in addition to increasing the club count. The NHL also has a Schedule Template which will need updating or removing.
I'll post some basic info later today/tomorrow but it'll initially be in connection with a simple single-conference league. The NHL is a complex league to modify.
Have anyone succeeded with adding teams to the NHL. For example Vegas or even one more team? I tried to understand the structure and add Seattle and Vegas to the NHL. But the game crashed immediatly

Yes, exactly. Basically, everything that is already possible with the existing leagues in EHM - e.g. promotion, relegation, multiple conferences and divisions, playoffs, playouts, etc. It's just a case of figuring out how.

Getting this error when trying to run the editor. I've installed the redistributable so I don't think it's about that.
It looks like you might be missing the "Platforms" sub-folder which should be located within the folder you extracted the "EHM Editor.exe" file. Within that folder there should be three DLL files: qminimal.dll, qoffscreen.dll and qwindows.dll.
Windows 10 and yes. The error message is different when the redistributable is not installed (says some files are missing, I've tried uninstalling and repairing from the installer).
Also I just bought the computer and did a fresh install of Windows 10 a couple of months ago and haven't really installed or done anything with it that would somehow conflict with the editor (of course I cant't be sure) so I have no idea what's going on.

Try copying the three DLL files from the "platforms" sub-folder and placing them in the same folder as the "EHM Editor.exe" file itself. The error message suggests as though it is looking in the wrong folder path.
Does the CA equal the addition of all attributes together ? Does it exclude the hidden attributes ?
If I am to modify the different attributes of a player in the editor, Do I have to manually upgrade the value of the general CA or is it gonna augment on its own from the total value of points added through the attributes ?

Can I edit the salary cap with this? Still trying to find out how to use CJ's version with a salary cap that doesn't make the game stupid after three years.

Yes, you can via the Transfer Rules screen. There's also the transfer_rules_config.cfg file located in the same folder as your database folder (if you're looking to edit the game start-up figures).
I've tried everything I could understand about the import feature and I never was able to upgrade the salary cap using the import function. If I can edit it in my save game, that would be a godsend.
