I have a few players in this tournament to comment on

1. Doughty--Wow! How at age 19 can you play better than just about any other defensemen in this tournament. Wow, you may just be the best dman in the entire tournament so far. ANd then you go blow up Ovenchicken. Wow.

2. Demitra--Who the heck is the guy wearing your jersey? Because this guy sure has never ever been seen in Vancouver.

3. Lundquist--Where are all the guys touting him as the best goalie in the world now? Blech. How do those hands feel around your throat Henrik. Brutal for that one period. Or 4 minutes.

4. Ovechkin--Calling OVi? Where are you? Ovi? Ovi? ....no answer. Hmm.....that is not a good thing.

5. Semin--Where are you? Oh right, you showed up when the score was 7-3 with 2 minutes left.

6. Volchenkov--Boy did you suck. Letting Dan Boyle burn you outside and then letting Marleau do the same. Man those two are real Pavel Bure type speedsters. Talk about slow Anton. The KHL guys were better than you.

7. Staal--You are a great player. You are tough. What the heck was that act in the corner after the Volchenkov hit? 2 seconds later back on the ice? Come on...leave that to Ovenchicken and his hand.

8. Z---Wow. You and Doughty. Period. Outstanding.

9. Weber--BOOM! Dude is amazing.

10. Kubina--Man I feel bad for you. Unlike others up top talking about loose chin straps..you and I know what really happened. I saw it lying beside the goalie. Stupid bloody helmet company and their cheap arse clasps. So you guys know...his chin strap was fine. The clasp that holds it in broke off and his strap came undone as he got hit. Cheap clasp caused a goal. Helmet companies--TAke note.

11. Halak--OUTSTANDING

12. San Jose guys--thornton where are you? Oh right..big game. So doing nothing. Nabokov==BLECH. Heatley-invisible, Marleau-ok. Dan Boyle--I have ripped you a ton. Wow. OUTSTANDING performance Danny Boy right up to that stupid cheap shot on Semin. That was moronic..he hit you clean.

13. Marion Hossa/Marion Gaborik---WOW!

14. Daniel and Henrik--Take a break, you tried and you did well. Just noone else on your team did well enough. Hopefully you will be ready to go on Tuesday. Good work boys.

15. Weinhandl--Thanks for dragging the boys down. You horrid piece of junk. Gustavsson only figured this out too late and gave the twins Forsberg...what a last 2 minutes. Great stuff, if only you had done that earlier BAG.

This is AWESOME! What a tournament. So exciting...save for watching any Eastern Euro teams and their horrible 0-3-2. They call it 1-2-2, but I am yet to see that 1 guy over the opposition blueline. Finland/Switzerland does it too. Blech. But at least the Swiss have no other choice.

Canada-Russia end to end excitement.
Swiss-USA...90% of this game in Swiss zone or neutral zone. Boring.
Sweden-Slovakia--Other than 10 minutes this was horrible trap hockey.
Finland-Czech--Snoozefest.

Thank god so many of those 0-3-2 teams are gone. Just have to get rid of Slovakia (actually the least likely to do it) and Finland now to see the real hockey. too much defensive strategy for me to root for Finland. Boring hockey. Boring.

Doughty got an oustanding season with the Kings and he didn't let this go with the Olympics, what a surprise! I knew the kid gonna be good but he gives more than I expected. If he continu like this he would become the #1 defensemen in the league in a couple a years.

What would the reaction in Montreal (and the rest of Canada for that matter) be if Halak were to backstop Slovakia to a win over Canada? I don't think that it will happen, but I just wanted to throw it out there.

Since we're throwing out names of players to comment on:

1) Rafalski- Has rarely beem caught out of position in their 4 games and leads the team in scoring with 6 points. Raise your hand if you thought that he'd lead Team USA in scoring at this point of the tournament.

2) Masaļskis- Yeah, I know he played for Latvia and they got smoked, but admit it, he played out of his mind against the Czechs and was a main reason, if not THE reason that they stayed close in that game. Some of the saves he made were beauties.

3) Hiller- Against the US, I thought that he played his normal game and was a deflection away from a game that would probably have stayed 0-0 to the end of regulation. He was the number 1 star against Canada and for a team with very little offense, he was a good finisher away from leading the Swiss to the 6 or 7 seed and sending Canada to an 8 seed.

4) Slovakian Power Play- I thought that the Swedes were going to have the best power play in the tournament, but the Slovakians are just lethal.

The goal that the Finns scored with Kubina getting is helmet was just horrible. I also feel bad for him and wish they'd tweak that rule just a little.

I'll disagree with the Heatley comment to a point. Is it possible to be tied for the tournament lead in scoring (tied with Demitra, Hossa and Toews with 7 points) and be invisible at the same time? He's recorded a point in every game, so he's at least shown up on the sheet. Now, if we're talking about his play in all three zones, then yes, I'll agree, I don't see his defensive skills on display at all and is invisible in that sense.

Say what? 8-)

2-0 for us.
That was a close match and a lucky goal for Finland. That stupid rule about helmet... I didn't know that players have to look beautifully during the game.
Now, GO USA GO :usa:
I am so upset!! I agrres, Go USA Go!!

For Heatley--I just meant the game vs the Russians. And yeah, that Latvian goalie...wow...what a tournament.

The Slovak PP scares me to death. Chara, Demitra, Gaborik, Hossa..playmakers and shooters. Canada better stay out of the box.

And if Halak beats Canada....oh my. Bye bye Carey Price.

What's more scary is IF Halak beat Canada, they will put him at a status like God or something, just like they did with Price at is first season.....you know what happen next.

Doughty is awsome now, I'm going to say it, our best D-man since Niedermayer, he's been our best D man for me.

Saying that Sweden and Russia are your 2 favorite teams are gone now, is that sarcasm? Cause you are Canadian right, unless you want to seperate from Canada?

No, my favorites players are in those teams, Canada comes in third to me, plus as I said since a couple of weeks I don't like team Canada this year.

Demitra - Well some players play alot better when playing for their country, it sounds to me like you watch alot of nucks games and live in Vancouver, so I'll ask again, are you a Rangers fan or a nucks fan?

Neither. The Hello Kitty and pink and the three posts talking about your question did not answer it well enough for you? Oh wait...you would have had to read it. :-D The avatar is a joke that started about 3 months ago in the graphics forum.
