If you mean Claude Giroux, he's in fantasy Philadelphia where he belongs.
As for you, batdad, I'll be there on January 18th... at which point I'm sure my streak will have stretched to 'won 6', and on the brink of going to seven. That is, of course, if I don't let any of my goalies come within a 10 mile radius of the starting slots. How many thousands of goals does Mason have against him already this year...?

God my goalies were brutal last week, not that the rest of the team was much better... Crosby had 1G 1A and was -4, Perry was held pointless and -5. Yeah, good luck to this team on winning anything when those two perform like that and my goalies combine for 0 wins. Goligoski has also been terrible after returning from injury, and he was looking so promising at the start of the season...
I'm amazed that batdad has still gone undefeated, the head-to-head scoring style seems so dependant on getting lucky with players going hot and cold at the right times. Ofcourse there's always the chance that I just suck and picked all the wrong players. Or that I'm too attached to most of them and don't drop/add enough when they go cold.
The only positive lately is that I seem to have picked up Connolly at the right time for a nice hot streak, doubt he can keep it up though.

First, YAY!!! for winning Killers last week in a tight contest
My goalies didn't help the team at all losing all their four categories and that makes the win a bit more tasty to me.
We are leading this week's matchup against Corinthians also, but after two nights team's scoring is disastrously poor (0+2, -4 etc.). We got the lead because of Kiprusoff's good game against Nashville and the eight penalty minutes Ehrhoff, Reinprecht and Toews got last night.
Last night Washington won their game for the first time this season without Ovechkin scoring a single point. I hope it helps Ovie to relax, seeing he doesn't have to carry the whole team by himself.

Also wanted to mention:
1. We are nearing trade deadline...all poolies should go have a look at their team and decide on their keepers for next season, at least if they have not, and at least tentatively have it in their mind.
2. Edit our trade blocks as we are approaching the deadline time.
3. Will trading be open in off season? I assume so?
4. If trading is open, will picks be exchangeable in next season's draft?

Michalek has quietened down recentlybatdad wrote:Dear Getz: although it is you....I WANT TO LOSE now. Even if it is you. Jesus. I do not want to be the New England Patriots circa 2007 or 8 or whatever it was.
So...how is Michalek doing? BWAH BWAH.
Milan Michalek, Ott LW 27 8 3 -5 10 4 0 2 71
Nicklas Lidstrom, Det D 26 0 14 0 8 0 0 0 68
I needed Goals, Powerplay goals and Game winning goals. In my eyes, that's a win.

3. I'm not sure. I know when you go to do the normal fantasy sign-up stuff before the season, one of the options is to "re-activate a league"... which would imply to me that if it has to be re-activated, then it must deactivate at some point. So, if that's the case, then it's safe to say there's no trading going on.batdad wrote:3. Will trading be open in off season? I assume so?

But again, I'm not actually sure. And I'm not sure there's any place to look that up, either. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
4. This I'm pretty sure is not an option. It would be a nice feature though.

For offseason trading...we could probably set things manually here and then agree here and input later.
For draft picks I think you could do the same...keep track of traded picks here and manually edit the draft selections when the time comes. Of course we would then have to have the relegated/promoted guys decided on early so they had control of their teams.

I was going to suggest the same thing. Finally... something we agree on.batdad wrote:For offseason trading...we could probably set things manually here and then agree here and input later.

News Alert:
The last day of competition for week 15 is here, and there's a tight contest between The Mustangs and undefeated powerhouse Burnaby Black Ice. Burnaby currently lead with a score of 5-4, but with a tie in Power-play Goals, Short-handed Goals, and Wins, the match could flip at any minute, handing Burnaby Black Ice their first loss of the season. Sunday should be especially exciting with neither team having an advantage in players playing, as both teams will have three skaters and one goalie in action. Burnaby could, however, have a slight edge with two of its three skaters being forwards, versus The Mustangs' one forward.

What a disappointing matchup I had with CatchUp. Just a measly 2 shots-on-goal could have given me the win (score would have been tied, then I take it on goals).
In other news, it looks like getzlaf15 and The Mustangs have ended poor ole batdad's undefeated streak at 14 games. A record for both 'Longest Winning Streak' and 'Longest Winning Streak to Start a Season'.

Not a problem, a lot of 'worsts' have already been included in the record book (which by the way, I'll be finishing after the season. Trying to do it while things keep changing is a bit futile).Manimal wrote:I won my game which is great but I had a -23 rating!
Stinson , can you put up a record of worsts in the league as well. It would be fun to see if I made it
But just for your information: Without looking through the previous weeks since the last entry at the beginning of December, it looks like your -23 unofficially sets the record for worst +/-. The previous record was -13, set by Lake Alajarvi on October 25th vs. Kent Mighty Turnips.

Nice work manimal!! THAt is a rating I can use against my guys. For some reason, although I shoot a ton I don't score anymore...and my plus minus is always the polar opposite from my goals.
Also..anyone got a set up man for me? Elite one could get Richards....Yeah only two guys have a chance at that, and one of them is a Canuck...so forget about it.
And yeah I am happy I lost..the pressure was getting to me. Now the guys can relax and stop gripping their sticks so tightly. But darn...losing to Getz sucks..especially because it was a last minute shutout but some dufus named Garon who I actually had get a shutout for me way back when (on the bench)
