I have started a new game with the Islanders when my Flyers game got corrupted and needless to say, it's almost hilariously easy to get good/great trades with this team.

I know lots of teams want to trade with you do to being under the salary floor. I have effed the Flyers over with three trades that I have easily won talent wise.

Islanders trade:
Kevin Poulin
Right to Brendan Krichton
Right to Scott Mayfield

Flyers trade:
2x 2012 3rd round pick (SJ,FLA)
Jakub Voracek
Andrej Meszaros

So I got an all star calibre defender and a future all-star forward AND 2 3rd round picks for a scrub and two potential depth players.
I mean I know Flyers need to rid of players due to being above the salary cap, but their entire brain went out of the window during that trade.

And now I got this trade about to commence too...

Islanders trade:
Rights to Johan Sundstrom

Capitals trade:
Mike Knuble

This one makes (a little) more sense seeing Knuble is old and on 2M and with this trade they jump under the salary cap, but still they give up their 2nd line scorer for... well a scrub.

Do mind I only hunt the block for available players, I think if I would start working outside the trade block then I could come up with even more rediculous trades... As if the first one wasn't crazy enough.

Point of this thread is not to post your most ridiculous trades, but your best. i.e. the trades where both sides potentially win -- or at least trades that are close.

I also picked up Meszaros in my current game, but my defense was awful and I had goaltenders to spare.
- Meszaros found himself on a Rangers team with 9 NHL caliber defensemen and no starting goaltender.

so, now that I've got the details a little more fresh in my mind, I traded as follows:

To NYR:
----------
Al Montoya
2 x 2nd round picks
1 x 3rd round pick
2 x 4-star prospects

To Me:
-----------
Andrej Meszaros
Andrew Raycroft

(they wouldn't do the deal without giving me Raycroft, so I promptly sent him to the "ECHL" until I could ship him out for a 4th round pick)

Add Tyson Nash for Patrick Sharp to my list. The guy was miserable playing 4th line minutes in Chicago and was a -10 after a month and a half on a 14th place team. Nash was doing great on my 4th line, but I had Laraque sitting in the press box so he was expendable. Since I got him, my PK% shot up from a 80.4% on Rememberance Day to an 89% now in January. He's also scoring over half a point a game playing 3rd line minutes + 1st unit PK, and my Coyotes team are now first in the West (1 point up on the Red Wings, same GP) in a super-competitive Pacific division where all 5 teams are in playoff spots and the Stars and Ducks are 3/4 in points in the conference with a decent lead over the 5th seed (New game, 06/07 rosters). And that was the only trade I made all season (the only other transaction being a waiver claim for Johan Franzen)

Just made a sweet trade...

I am the Stars as you can see, and with the team sitting dead last in the west I need to rebuild big time and I felt that Ribeiro would be better suited as trade bait to get talent and good picks and Detroit came knocking and I hammered out a sweet deal.

I get a lightning fast center who works hard and can check too, and he is only 24 too! And I feel he can be build in a great center guy for this team...

And of course don't forget a 2nd and 3rd round pick which should help me snap up some nice talents in the draft.

I am really pleased with this trade :)
