Editing league rules and structures in EHM 1

The BCHL, AJHL, SJHL, MJHL, SIJHL, NOJHL, OJHL, CCHL, QJHL, and MHL all operate under the umbrella of the CJHL similar to how the WHL, QMJHL, and OHL operate under the CHL.

The problem with making any of these leagues playable is the complex roster rules (card based transfer system, affiliate system, etc.). I believe JeffR did have the BCHL, AJHL, SJHL and MJHL coded and pretty much ready for playable release in EHM 2007 so maybe they are closer to realistic than I believe. But the point I think is that all leagues should be made playable for realism. Trading is also complex as for example teams are allowed to trade between leagues and scouting of these players is generally very poor with most players being traded for cash or flat out released.

They'd have be done pretty close to how the NCAA conferences are done. They'd just have to be their own self-contained leagues with "simpler" rules, with no real inter-league stuff besides maybe a postseason with each league champion (because inter-league is just not possible right now, save for preseason). There's not really the ability in the game (right now) to edit them to do much more.

I think the big thing right now is to get these leagues "going" as best as one can, and then fiddle with them more to tweak down the road. I know I have a few ideas still for what to maybe do with the NCAA leagues, but I'd have to play around and test and see.

It'd be neat if the game could support more teams within a single structure. Having all of those CJHL leagues would be pretty overwhelming as individual leagues on the League Selection screen (rather than just a single CJHL). I'll mention to Riz when I go back to him on various other things.

Out of interest, now additional leagues can be added and made playable, are we able to add international competitions in the same way? I'd love to give it a go myself and try and get the CCOA, Pan American tournament and the Gulf championship in the game, in addition to expanded U20's World Champs. Does anyone know if it is at all doable?

No, unfortunately it's not doable yet. It'll crash the game.
If it was possible, trust me, we'd have added at least the U18s

I've been getting familiar with the editor for a while now and have managed to replicate a decent structure for the Swedish first division a.k.a. HockeyEttan. There are a few things i couldn't implement but it remains pretty similar to how it is played IRL. Was also able to create a structure for J20 SuperElit.

The structures can be imported through the EHM 1 Editor and works on the latest TBL Rosters update. I've simulated as far as 2046 without any errors.

Teams gets picked from base comp and then divided by the flag "Sort Participating Teams For Initial Stages East To West" and that makes detailed divisions obsolete.

I have been waiting a very long time to get to play with hockeyettan teams. I don't know if I'm asking for too much, but is Swedish Division 2 and Division 3 (Hockeytvåan and hockeytrean) possible to make in the editor?
I have tried myself to learn the editor and create Hockeytvåan and hockeytrean. But I don't understand how the editor works.

Czech Second League is activated! Using nxr feedback i found a solution to finish my model of this league as it is IRL. If someone is interested i post some screens and info about league:

Czech Second League 2016/2017

Phase 1 (Regular season)
29 teams split into 3 divisions (East, West, Central). 40 rounds are played (East) and 36 rounds (West & Central).
1-8 teams from each division qualify to East and West-Central playoffs.


Phase 2 (Division playoffs)
TOP 8 teams from East Division played 1E-8E, 2E-7E, 3E-6E, 4E-5E. Winner qualify to Promotion League.
TOP 8 teams from West and Central played fixed playoffs draw 1C-8W, 2C-7W, 3C-6W, 4C-5W, 1W-8C, 2W, 7C, 3W-6C, 4W-5C. No final West-Central playoff game and both finalist qualify to Promotion League

Phase 3 (Promotion and Relegation group)
Playoff winners played Promotion group for one promote place. (4 rounds)
Last one team from each division after Regular season will fight in Relegation Group for stay in league (4 rounds). Last team were relegated to Czech Regional Leagues.

You can have byes, the only limitation is that you can't have eg winner of hockey east playing in second round and winner of WCHC playing in first round. Only in "single leagues" you can have byes.

Can someone tell me how I can get this correct:
Finnish Suomi sarja 2x12teams north south divisions.
Stage 1: Liiga C South 4x11gms 44gp
Stage 2: Liiga C North
Stage 3: South top 4 teams playoff (2 winners go to Liiga B qualification)
Stage 4: North top 4 teams playoff (2 winners go to Liiga B qualification)
Stage 5: Both South and North last placed teams go to relegation series with 4 Finnish second division teams. (6 teams 2 rounds)

How I put these correct to each stage:

As an experiment, I added a fourth group of four teams to the Olympics. After some tinkering, everything seems to be working fine, but there are two quirks that I can't seem to fix:

1) The Group Stage is divided into two... groupings. One grouping has the original three Olympic groups (listed as Group A, Group B and Group C), and then the second grouping has the added fourth group (listed as simply Group Stage). I made the fourth group's settings exactly like the other three's but it is still separated out. Why does it do that?

2) No matter how I juggle the schedule, the bronze medal game takes place after the gold medal's.

But at least it works at all!

So realistically the NCAA individual conference tournaments could all have byes set for them so that all the teams in the conference make them, just like in real life? In many cases that'd add like one extra round is about all. Maybe that's not a bad idea... at least then all teams have a shot at the automatic bid from winning a conference tourney. That's where my thoughts were going with the byes.

The Frozen Four is a different animal still. There's no real way to make the game go to a "Plan B" if one particular team wins both the conference regular season and tournament titles. I still have not figured out a way around that. The only way would be to give the tournament winners + the other tournament finalist automatic bids to the Frozen Four, and then... I don't know what. That still leaves you with 12 teams and no way to seed them outside of something like the round robin you already use. Which then gets messy, as 12 teams would likely require two Groups doing different round robins or something else crazy.

I don't see a better solution for the Frozen Four until we get where we can have the individual conferences as divisions in one big NCAA League. Let's hope Riz has a solution for it down the line.
