Yep, the recording spreadsheet is initially saying "challenge 8" instead of "challenge 9".

Just change the "8" to a "9" on the "Recording" sheet (at the top left of the sheet) and all the spreadsheet will be updated to be challenge 9 ;)

Yeah, that was my bad. I forgot to clear out that cell with the 8 when I finished testing.

Still... if you read the directions you would know to go to that cell and put in the challenge number. :nerd:

So I haven't bothered doing the tactics for my farm team. I hired coaches, set the lines, and went on vacation for Norfolk. I'd check in a couple times a month and see how things were going, maybe adjust training. I started to see Ryan O'Marra have a couple bad games so I decided to handle the tactics for my farm team too. What a difference! In the 4 games since I set their tactics, I've had scores of 7-2, 16-3, 10-0, and 5-0. The team was successful before this. They were either 1st or 2nd in their division. They just weren't killing like they should have been with this roster. I can't wait to see how they do for the rest of the season (not much left unfortunately) and the playoffs.

Note to self : Micro-manage your farm team all the time!

Heh. Maybe I should try that with my 41-8-2 farm team. Heh. They are already winning games 13-1 10-1 11-0 etc. Wonder what my tactics would do?

Try it! I don't know if they'll get better results than that. I thought my down there was pretty good but I guess not with tactics. I've got Kocur and he's got great stats (including a 16 in tactics). I figured that would've been good enough with the roster he's been given.

My Admirals...

Kaspar Toews Bolland
Clune O'Marra Brouwer
Carcillo Fraser Istomin
junk - junk - Sindel

Barker - Staal
Syvret - Letang
Richmond - Hendrikx

Price - junk

Right now they're 48-19-6. Not bad considering the callups and injuries.

I got Kimmo Timonen now :D First time i have him in a EHM game... Now my defensive pairs look like this:

Brent Seabrook - Adrian Aucoin
Kimmo Timonen - Derek Morris
Duncan Keith - Ben Clymer

Heh, not bad! Just need a real goalie for the next season, and maybe a second line center who wins faceoffs, in case Sharp can't handle the second line next year. And a second line winger too. Vrbata is doing well, but it should be better...

To be honest with you, from what I've seen Sharp works best as a 3rd line center/PK specialist. At least that's the way he's developing in my game. He's got a killer wrist shot though.

I trade for Jordan Staal, hope he can be the overall player i need.

Draft Day : only Vinigranov took my attention, probably will play this 3rd season already.

I was shopping around for a first line lw. I ended up trading for Heatly. I got him for Handzus and Lapointe. This now gives me a top line of Smolinski Heatly Havlat. 2nd line of Ruutu Bourque and Vrbata.

Reminds of of when the Ducks played Kariya / Rucchin / Selanne. A classic donut :-p

I just won the Stanley Cup in my second season. I couldn't get to the finals in my first season but this time around I did it! My farm team in Norfolk also won (the Calder in their case).

PREVIEW OF BATDAD TRADE DEADLINE BLOG...COMING SOON...like NEXT WEEK

The NHL went insane. Absolutely insane. Star defensemen switch teams left and right. Everyone stocking up in the west to stop Heatley and Havlat in Chicago. So what do the Hawks do? Sit idly by? Go after the dmen to prevent their only challenger, The Calgary Flemmes from getting them? Go after previously thought to be untouchable forward stars of the game?

Is Marleau a Hawk? IS Chara? Derek Morris? Brendan Morrow? Mike Modano? PM BOuchard? Andy McDonald? Shawn Horcoff? Jaret Stoll? Brendan Morrison? Markus NAslund? Where do Thornton, Selanne, Jeff Carter and Alex Ovechkin play now? Have they all moved....What the heck are the Leafs doing? You know...you always want to know.

Just wait...find out next week in the Blackhawk blog of Bill Wirtz Jr. brought to you by Minstrel Fresh Mints and GRumpy hockey dads everywhere.

What are the boys in Norfolk up to? Have they lost any games this season anyway?

B72: Congrats on the cup.

We're in first season's conference finals against Calgary, and they are tearing us apart. In the first game Sturm took 5+10 penalty after few minutes and was suspended for two more games. Fortunately they revoked the suspension. Anyway, we lost that game 6-1 and it was home game. In the second game we won 3-1, but in the third one we lost 6-1 again. In the second game we lost #1 goalie Kevin Weekes for about 2 weeks and 3rd line winger Moreau for ten days. I'm afraid we are not gonna win this one.

We're having problems playing against both "dump and chase" -teams and "flexible game" -teams. And all our opponents in the playoffs have been playing in those styles.

Well, if the season ends in two games, then I won't have to coach any games for a while =D> (remember I hate it?).

Calgary is tough in that first season. IIRC, they were the team that beat me in the conference finals as well.

In my game they even have Selanne, who's being a really pain in the ass. Their top two lines are deadly and their third line is scoring too, having guys like Matt Lombardi in it. I hate them! I hate the whole situation, especially with goalies like Boucher and Caron. But what can you say? Tough luck, but own choice...

I already have Yelle to play 3rd line minutes and kill penalties :p (even if my PK suck...need a goalie!). And now i have Brind'Amour to end the season and make the playoffs :D Won't re-sign him though, or i'd be way over the budget in season 2. Oh, and i get a goalie for the playoffs! Hasek is in the place! :joy: He is still injured though, but will be back by the very end of the regular season, after a 4 months injury. He may not show up in the playoffs, but i'm sure he'll be more solid than...huh...Lalime? Boucher? :p

Details will be in the blog tomorrow, as i'm too lazy to write it right now.

bigargon: 15th July included to 14th September included, which means you can't start making offers before 15th September. So yes, you have to keep Khabi at least until 15th September ;)

So in posting my roster for season three, I forgot a screenshot of Carey Price. He will be my homegrown for season three. He has no NHL games played before the 2008-2009 season and I signed him as a UFA on 6/15/2007. Seeing as I'm 40 games into the season already - would anyone like me to still post a screenie of Mr. Price? Or am I trustworthy enough for everyone?? :-p
