Two NHL rights errors that I found:

Prab Rai has his rights owned by chicago, but they are really owned by vancouver

luke witkowski has his rights owned by vancouver, but they are really owned by tampa bay

Also, patrick white of vancouver canucks is actually a center, not RW/LW. (he's and unsigned prospect, btw)

Finally, These players for vancouver are under-rated:

Burrows (VERY underrated)
Bernier
Hansen
Johnson

and Bieksa is an offensive defenceman, not a defensive one.

(as you can see, I'm a vancouver fan 8-) )

Hopefully you can find time to do this, and GREAT work man!! KUTGW

Fixed the rights and the positions. Boosted Burrows, but I found Bernier, Hansen, and Johnson's ratings quite accurate, so I just did some minor adjustments to them. \ Lidas

Started playing as the Leafs, a few things I noticed, Jeff Finger may be a bit under-rated, I'd rate him at equal to Van Ryn who might be over-rated, and Grabovski is a C not a LW

Also, on a side note, is there a facepack available for this DB or do I have to download one and then change DOB?

I found the ratings quite accurate, but I did a few minor adjustments. Grabovski is now a C\LW \ Lidas

I'm afraid you have to do it manually. There's more info about that here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 1880#61880

Missing team from the AHL in Lidas new roster update

Post by Nsulei »

Just wanted to point out there are two teams in the ECHL that need to be put in the AHL. They are the Rockford Icedogs and the Lake Erie Monsters. I would change it but every time I use the editor I am not able to launch it from the ECH software. Anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong? I think it's great that the Rosters are being updates and I thank Lidas for doing all the work!

You can't put more teams in AHL, because of hardcode thing..
I think someone explained that in previous posts?

Oh BTW welcome to the TBL!! 8-)

AHL Limits?

Post by Nsulei »

Thanks for the welcome! I've been playing EHM for a couple of years now. Just wanted to get up to date files for a new league I want to play. Do you know what the limit is for AHL teams?

That is the default: 27 teams.
I am always glad to see new people in here!

Stephen MacIntyre is on EDM, he was picked off waivers from FLA
Link- http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/3469

Also the pens move into a new arena, here is the extra_config configuration for it.
"ARENA_MOVE" "Pittsburgh Penguins" "Mellon Arena" "PNC Bank Arena" 10 1 2010 16247 14018 18087 0

(The name is not PNC Bank Arena, it has no naming rights yet, but I anticipate that is who will own them)

Also Gonchar/Whitney are injured

"INJURY" "Ryan" "Whitney" "Pittsburgh Penguins" "SURGERY" 5
"INJURY" "Sergei" "Gonchar" "Pittsburgh Penguins" "SEPARATED_SHOULDER" 7

Also retired numbers are missing here is a link to them:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_th ... ed_numbers

Thanks for your hard work!

I moved MacIntyre, but I'll wait with the arena until we have more info - at least until they have an official name + data. / Lidas

I also notice the Dallas Stars release Avery, Brunnstrom, and others to make the salary cap, may want to look to make sure there isn't a typo.

What I've noticed is that the team budgets are too low for the salary cap for a lot of teams. Thus they release players. This seems to be because the cap's risen, but the team budgets haven't since the game's release. Unfortunately, editing the db pre-game doesn't solve it - put the Blue Jacket's as high as you want it won't take effect. So what I do to get round this is when I start the game, immediately save and edit it in the saved game editor, raising the team budgets a little. This seems to work.

It's a small inconvenience on a brilliant piece of work.

A few players need upping in my view

Kulemin needs to be boosted quite a bit

he was putting up good points in the RSL, even got MVP once & is gonna be playing 1st/2nd line mins with the leafs this season................but with his present stats in game he wouldnt even put up good points in the RSL let alone the NHL

Luke Schenn

His stats dont look anywhere near NHL ready, hes playing around 25 mins a game on top pairing with Kaberle & hasnt looked out of sorts at all, if anything hes been are best defenceman so far!!!

Blake Wheeler doesnt look anywhere near NHL ready yet he is expected to be with the Bruins all this season

Jakub Voracek needs to be upped abit

Drew Doughty doesnt look at all NHL ready........seems to be getting rave reviews from Kings fans so far

Sam Gagner & Andrew Cogliano need to be upped.............had good rookie seasons last year, Gilbert Brule has better stats then em yet has pretty much done nothing in the last 3 years :dunno:

Did a couple of changes... dont want to boost the rookies too much yet... they need more matches first. / Lidas

With my homer glasses on...

For the Saint Louis Blues:

David Perron needs a substantial boost - his hands are suck and he's incredible with the puck, should score 20-30 this year.

Pietrangelo looks nothing like a #4 overall pick that is sticking with the big club at 18, he needs his stats boosted. Big time.

Patrick Berglund has been named as a top Calder candidate and has 4 points in 5 gmaes as a rookie. He's a 6'4" monster cetner with hands like butter and incredible vision. Paul Kariya has stated he expects Berglund to be a 100 point player in the next couple of years.

Oshie seems accurate, hope he has a good potential though.

Basil McCrae and Jake Allen both have silly stats for being picked 32 and 33rd.

Same here, the youngsters need to prove themselves before they get boosted. Berglund is a favorite player of mine - we are from the same hometown, and I have watched him live several times - but he is yet to prove himself in NHL... / Lidas

I've noticed that players that are coming off of entry level contracts, their rights are not being retained by their team. I am currently playing as the Blue jackets and I am positive that I qualified voracek, but come July 1 it said he has become a free agent because no contract was reached. I also noticed Bogosian signing with another team in the same offseason.

In a different game, I was the Rangers and lost cherepanov, del zotto, and another guy to the first draft. And as a rangers fan, Dubinsky is vastly underrated, he seems to be a legit 2nd line center, yet in the game he is barely useable as a 4th liner.

It seems very hard to sign Radulov (after trading for his rights), with the rangers I thought it was just because they were so close to the cap, but even still with the Jackets my board wont let me offer him more than 984,000 per year. Even if you add a huge (3 mill) signing bonus, it doesnt work.

Not sure if theses things are legit problems or some error on my part, just thought i would share.

Not much I can do here except upgrading Dubinsky a bit \ Lidas

I noticed there were some Dallas Stars' that could get a boost:

Marty Turco could have higher speed, acceleration, and creativity. Turco is extremely mobile and his puck handling skills are among the best if not THE best in the league, so even his passing and puckhandling could be boosted just a touch.

Trevor Daley's acceleration, speed, and slapshot need better ratings maybe 17 for each.

Stephane Robidas needs a boost on his aggression, work rate, determination, influence, and passing.

Steve Ott is a touch overrated.

Joel Lundqvist needs his acceleration, speed, work rate and checking up and his deking and creativity down.

Mike Ribeiro needs a big boost in ratings.

Mark Fistric could have been defensive ratings.

Ivan Vishnevski needs every rating in red to go up to around 10, 11 or 12.

James Neal's aggression should be a 14 and his pokecheck a 12.

Now Gillies isn't a Dallas player but his ratings needed an overhaul.

Colton Gillies
Acceleration: 17
Agility: 16
Balance: 13
Speed: 18
Stamina: 15
Strength: 12

Aggression: 14
Anticipation:14
Bravery: 13
Creativity:7
Determination: 14
Flair: 8
Influence: 12
Team Work: 13
Work Rate: 16

Checking: 16
Deflections: 10
Deking: 6
Faceoffs: 9
Hitting: 11
Getting Open: 7

Passing: 8
Pokecheck: 15
Positioning: 12
Slap Shot:8
Stick handling: 7
Wrist shot: 6

Gillies is also competent playing RD and LD. He manned the point last year on the PP and PK, while playing with Saskatoon.

Mike Green of the capitals should have higher ratings so that during simulation he scores more goals.

I believe your ratings are a bit too hig, so I just did some minor stuff \ Lidas

Sean Avery is listed as a C/LW but really hasn't played C much at all, probably should just be listed as a LW. Also, not sure if this in the update or not (don't have it in front of me) but Avery also has a No-Trade clause.

Alrite, changed him to LW/C. As he isn't 30 Y.O. yet I cant add a NTC / Lidas

By rising player loyalty over 16 and setting player salary and current reputation enough high..
Oh.. and player have to be over 30 years old. I think that there's also some trick more.. can't remember what it was.

I don't think it's a good idea to go editing player's values to get them the correct contract though... :-k

I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but as I stated earlier; I cannot wait for a V2 to come out so I have decide to update this database myself. Being the OCD perfectionist that I am (and my career is in quality assurance), I have documented every change to be implemented. All moves I post are about 98% accurate. To the best of my knowledge all players listed as UFA are free agents, but some may be playing in Europe/Asia somewhere not documented at hockeydb.com. Also, roster moves within an organization will not be documented here (call-ups/demotions). Nearly all players in the lower leagues need MAJOR attribute adjusting, but that is a major task (one that I will be doing but cannot possibly document). Anyway, enough with the talk...

First some major recomendations:

The following players need to be put on some sort of long-term injury list as I don't think they are expected to play at all this year:
Pothier, Brian
Rathje, Mike
Sullivan, Steve
King, D.J.
Johnson, Erik

and these guys maybe miss half a year:
Williams, Justin
Wisniewski, James
Hatcher, Derian
Mitchell, Torey
Halpern, Jeff

Chewdoruk, Justin - his name is really spelled Chwedoruk and is already in the db - now there are two.

Some primary position changes:
Schubert, Christoph - change POS to LW
Kočí, David - change POS to LW
Staubitz, Brad - change POS to RW
Veideman, Adrian - change POS to LD
Bickel, Stu - change POS to RD
Emmerson, Riley - POS to RW
Landry, Jon (5/29/1982) - change POS to RD
Cescon, Craig - change POS to LW

Some NHL/AHL transactions
Fletcher, Justin - to St.Louis Blues (Peoria Rivermen)
Heward, Jamie - to Tampa Bay Lightning (Norfolk Admirals)
Motherwell, Brett - to Providnce Bruins
Martin, Derick - to Providnce Bruins
Switzer, Craig - to Quad City Flames
Straub, Brandon - to Quad City Flames
Classen, Greg - to San Antonio Rampage
Da Silva, Dan - to Worcester Sharks
