December 20th, 2011- The Habs will get ready for the Philadelphia Flyers when the Flyers come to visit the Bell Center tomorrow. The Flyers are in 13th place in the East with a 12-17-4 record while Montreal is in 7th with a 18-14-2 record.

December 21st, 2011- The Philadelphia Flyers have announced the hiring of Barry Smith as Head Coach. Barry Smith last coached in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings in 1999. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren announced the signing and introduced him today in a short press conference.

December 21st- According to the Hockey News, Canadiens F Travis Moen has been showing signs of complacency and his attitude was undermining his teams play. Habs GM Big T told the press that he is a model professional who would never let his team down. In 33 games this season, the 29 year old Moen has 3 goals, 6 points, -4 rating and 70 PIMs, but has been a solid team mate being involved in 6 fights so far this season.

December 22nd- The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to terms with G Stefan Ridderwall of the Timra IK's. The 23 year old Ridderwall was the Islanders 6th round (173rd overall pick) in the 2006 entry draft. Ridderwall is 2-2-5 with a 3.00 GAA and .869 Sv% with Timra of the Swedish Elite League. The transfer will take place on June 7th, 2012.

December 22nd- The Montreal Canadiens will face the Boston Bruins in the unfriendly confines of the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston tomorrow. The Bruins are currently in 12th place with a 12-14-7 record while Montreal is 18-14-3 and in 7th place.

G Tuukka Rask, the 24 year old is 11-9-2 with a 2.48 GAA and .919 Sv%

December 28th, 2011- A radio talk show host has indicated that if he was in charge of the Detroit Red Wings, Nicklas Kronwall would be the first player out the door. There was no comment from the Red Wings organization. The 30 year old Kronwall has 2 goals, 7 points, +7 rating, 28 PIMs in 32 games.

January 2nd- The Dallas Stars have signed D Tomas Kaberle to a 1 year deal worth $2.0M. The 33 year old Kaberle played 82 games last season between Toronto and Boston, he scored 4 goals, 47 points, +4 rating and 18 PIMs.

January 5th, 2012- The Philadelphia Flyers have traded D Chris Pronger to the Winnepeg Jets in exchange for the rights to RW Austen Brassard and D Zachary Yeun. The 37 year old Pronger had 5 goals, 15 points, -3 rating and 79 PIMs for the Flyers in 36 games this season. Pronger has 5 years after the 2011-12 season on his deal paying him $4.9 per year. The 18 year old Brassard is currently playing in the WHL for the Belleville Bulls and has 12 goals, 32 points in 39 games. He was the Jets 5th round 149th pick in the 2011 entry draft.
