Re: Custom Start Date Patch & Retro Launcher: Questions & Er
OK, I tried to use the CSD Patch, and used the Launch and Patch button.
It gave me 17 errors, and 1 warning
The problem is, that now when I try to start EHM 2007 (I have version 3.0.4), it will not launch. Therefore I can't run "Apply Patch Only". Or play the game, as it's not available from SI. I would gladly download and buy the game again.
I track it through Task Manager, and when I try to start it normally, the ehm2007.exe shows up in "processes" (in task manager), then disappears.

This isn't a CSD Patch problem. I have posted a response to your problem in the appropriate thread: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 75#p169575Corpuscle2 wrote:OK, I tried to use the CSD Patch, and used the Launch and Patch button.

It works when I click " Apply patch only" but when I try to launch & patch through the patch, it never works

Did you place the Patch in the same folder as your ehm2007.exe? Are you using Run as Admin?ezpkns34 wrote:It works when I click " Apply patch only" but when I try to launch & patch through the patch, it never works

Yes to both. It's not a big deal, just forgot to patch before simming into Oct. on a game & had to reload so figured I'd post here about the launch & patch issue I have

Re: Custom Start Date Patch & Retro Launcher: Questions & Er
Okay, so what am I doing wrong? I got a new computer and I've been running EHM on it for the challenge. Now I was looking at starting a new game, so I downloaded the CSD patch. I unzipped it and put the files into the same folder as the EHM exe. I've got the Run-Time thing installed and .NET as well. I'm running Win8.1 and have launched the CSD patch running as administrator. I run the patch and have it launched in full screen mode (because my laptop resolution won't allow for windowed). When I start a new game, it doesn't change the date.
Any ideas?

Try starting the game, but only go to the screen where you select new game. Then run CSD patch and choose patch only. Then start a new game.
Patch only is safer than patch and load

Thanks for the idea but that still didn't work. It even says "Patch Successful".

Re: Custom Start Date Patch & Retro Launcher: Questions & Er
I'm sorry to say that you've got the very rare issue of the Patch not successfully changing the date. I have no idea what causes this because I have never been able to replicate the issue on my own computer. It seems to affect very few users, but there is a work around which has worked with all of them. Unfortunately it involves an extra step each time you want to use the Patch. Here are the instructions: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 36#p138236
As it happens, I have started today to look into the possibility of editing the game's exe with the correct start date. I'm not sure if this is possible (because some data can only be edited once the game has loaded into the RAM), but I'm going to give it a go.

That worked! Thanks!
Do I have to do that every time I load the game that I've created? Can I just run the CSD Patch and load the game?

I think you have to use ArtMoney each time too. I can't remember for sure, but I think that's the case.bruins72 wrote:That worked! Thanks!

Re: Custom Start Date Patch & Retro Launcher: Questions & Er
Question is, i tried to go back to playing the 1998db correct... i have the 1998db.exe file with the database backed 8 yrs... however when i load the CSD patch set for 1998 it changes the date back to 1998 however when i go to open the 1998db.exe and change it in artmoney it only goes back to 2006 so how do we use the CSD to select the launch and patch ehm when it doesnt open the ehm1998.exe

Load your ehm1998.exe and then when you're at the main menu, use the Apply Patch Only button on the Patch.

Re: Custom Start Date Patch & Retro Launcher: Questions & Er
The safest thing to do is to revert to the version you started earlier today. You might get away with it but there's no guarantee - it all depends on the dates in game that you simulated without the Patch (I'm afraid I can't give a definitive list of "safe" dates).

Re: Custom Start Date Patch & Retro Launcher: Questions & Er
Will the Custom Start Date Patch work on the trial at all??? I haven't got it to work so not sure if its because its the trial or if I have to try an alternate way that Archibalduk suggested. If anyone could confirm for me that it will or wont work on just the trial that would be awesome, thanks so very much!!!

Re: Custom Start Date Patch & Retro Launcher: Questions & Er
I don't know if anybody has ever tried it. I don't see why not. However, I doubt it'll bypass the 6 month trial period.

Hi, I tried running the patch but it says EHM is not running even thought it is. I ran it as administrator and it still didn't work. Help? Thanks.

ESHM 2007 question
Hey everyone. I have a question to ask regarding my game and the custom start date patch. It says if I have any league with the exception of Russia or Finland, to not use the patch if ive simmed after feb.1. If Russia or Finland is selected to wait until past July 1st. I have ALL leagues selected, but most of them including Russia and Finland are set to standard. so they are selected, but right now they are not useable. My game is now in late feb (in first year obviously). do I still use the patch or not when reloading my game?
Thanks
Thanks
