Started a new game with Panthers. I wanted a team solid defensively and with decent propect.

Doing great, 5-1-0

Brian McCabe is a monster for my team and the others.
Vokoun is finishing the defense job.

Only trade was Ortomeyer to help my defensive line.

I need to find a first line Center though if i want to compete in the playoff. Will see how is doing Stephan Weiss first.

Hey all,

Just posting here to post an overview of what has been my EHM "career" in EHM 2007, and looking to see how my success rate matches up with the rest of the community. I figure this is the place for it, since I bore the hell out of my friends with this stuff haha... Sorry if this is in the wrong place...

Started in the 06/07 season as unemployed, and got my first GM job with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL. When I got hired, there was no head coach on the personnel, so I decided to go for it and try my hand at coaching as well as managing the team. Without going into much detail, here are my results while at Medicine Hat....

06/07 : 42-28-0-2 ... 1st in Central Div, lost in 2nd round
07/08 : 41-29-0-2 ... 3rd in Central Div, lost in 1st round
08/09 : 44-24-1-3 ... 3rd in Central Div, lost in 1st round
09/10 : 47-20-1-4 ... Reg. Season Champs, President's Trophy Champs, Memorial Cup Champs
10/11 : 50-19-2-1 ... Reg. Season Champs, President's Trophy Champs, Memorial Cup Champs
11/12 : 51-14-2-5 ... Reg. Season Champs, President's Trophy Champs

After the 11/12 season, the job I'd been waiting for opened up (NY Rangers GM) and I applied for and got it. For the first season I had Bob Hartley as my Head Coach, then I fired him and took the reigns myself. I hired a head coach again at the beginning of the 2016-17 season, but fired him in December of that year because of poor performance.

Rangers results:

12/13 : 52-23-7 ... Reg. Season Champs, lost in 1st round
13/14 : 40-38-4 ... 8th in East Conf, lost in 1st round
14/15 : 43-25-14 ... 2nd in East Conf, lost in 2nd round
15/16 : 40-28-14 ... 7th in East Conf, lost in 2nd round
16/17 : 42-33-7 ... 7th in East Conf, lost in 2nd round
17/18 : 52-25-5 ... 1st in East Conf, Stanley Cup Champs
18/19 : 55-21-6 ... Reg. Season Champs, Stanley Cup Runners-Up
19/20 : 53-22-7 ... Reg. Season Champs, Stanley Cup Runners-Up

So far in the 2020-21 season things are rough. Started 2-6-2 with a 6 game losing streak in there, but then won 7 before losing the last game I played, bringing me back to some respectability at 9-7-2 and 8th in the East in early November. Got some major decisions to make this year, with some key players (I have two RWs, both drafted 1st round 2014 that are making over $5 million per season and I need to choose one to build around for the future and one to let go, can't afford both).

Also, at the end of the 2017/18 season I upped the salary cap from $44 million to $48 million, and plan to leave it at that until at least 2030.

Thanks for reading if you made it this far, I'll update occasionally.

Lidas 09-10 - How's it going?

Post by alexob18 »

I wanted to start a thread about what you're doing in your game, a general discussion on the players you've found, some minor accomplishments, what team you are and in what league... etc etc.

So lets hear it! :-D

MOD NOTE: I've merged this into the thread we already had to talk about your team and what you're doing with it. We didn't really need a new one because we've got a new DB. You can just mention that you're playing with the Lidas DB 2.0. - B72

I have now started to grab Lecavalier for every team, except Flyers (Forsberg), Ducks (Getzlaf). With Wild, I traded Lecavalier for Rolston, 2nd round pick 2007, and that White. I think that's a good trade, but I traded David Krejci and 7th round 2009 to Lecavalier and that's IMO very succesful. I suggest you to try and trade Lecavalier to yourself.

Just came from 3-1 sereies deficit to beat the Devils in the Stanley Cup finals with the canucks!!! This is the cup winning team:

Sedin-Sedin-Forsberg (Didnt get the 2.1 update)
Burrows-Kesler-Sammuelsson
Raymond-Wellwood-Bernier
Shirokov-Johnson-Hansen

Beauchimen-Edler
Edhroff-Salo
Mitchell-Bieksa

Luongo
Raycroft

Daniel was in top 3 for points/goals. My defnse was huge for me, so many d-man goals. Luongo was unreal as usauly but Raycroft was also a solid back up. Shirokov put up surpirsingly good numbers for me. Schenierder did better than Beauchimin but Schnieder was getting old so I wanted to have a player of his style for a long time so I traded for Beau.

I just lost, in one game, two main D-men for four months and one key forward for two months.

A day later my starting goalie gets injured in the first period, we lose, and and the board tells me they're unhappy with the loss!!

It's gone excessively well, to tell the truth.

I picked up a St. Louis Blues game running with just the NHL on Enhanced. After nine seasons I have seven Cups and a roster made up mostly of young regens hitting their prime and the ridiculously good Kovalchuk and Kronwall. It got ridiculous after I went 81-0-1 last season and picked up my fifth Cup in a row.

That game is now sitting idle, and I'm putting together a legit expansion-team game, having done a manual expansion draft and tossed the resulting team into Halifax. Despite my trying for a last-place expansion team, after 20 games they're sixth in the East.

I swear, it's impossible to have a losing season these days.

I started a game with the Florida Panthers for the sole purpose of rebuilding them. I traded Keith Ballard and Marc Cheverie for a 1st in 2009. I traded Radek Dvorak for a 2nd. Traded Dominic Moore for Josh Gorges. I was hoping to tank but here I am 27 games into the season with a 17-9-1 record. Vokoun even got injured for 4 months but since then I'm 4-1.

What the Dickens?

In EHM there are 2 British Leagues
Elite Ice Hockey League - featuring 10 teams from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland

This league has an import limit in the game I think that limit is about 10 teams. It doesn't really matter too much who you go as after the first season everything can change quickly and you can get the players in you want. I have started a game with Braehead they don't actually exist in real life well not as an elite league team, it is part of Lidas's latest update as in real life the league went from 10 to 8 teams so needed 2 teams to replace them and Braehead and London were those 2.
EIHL teams can take players from other British leagues on 2 way contracts which means when they are are not playing for their main team they can play for your elite league team. This is a good way to stock up your roster with fringe players and sometimes not need to pay them though like I said they are not always available so make sure you have plenty if you are relying on them.

After a shaky start losing first 2 games my Braehead have won all games since not sure how many exactly but I'm up to about 4th or something. Braehead do not play in the challenge cup so have more time to focus on the league. Once I got the players I wanted in I done better.

Play offs in elite league are pretty short with top 8 going through and I think it may just be quarters over 2 legs then the semi and finals are always played at Nottingham

I would suggest Braehead or London if you want to start with an empty roster which is a nice challenge. Good thing about Elite league is you can release players without compensation you just give them 2 weeks notice I believe when this happens to an import it opens up an import slot. So feel free to be picky if there is someone better out there. Winners of elite league play offs I think in the game play in the continental cup the next season in real life regular season winners considered greater honour than play offs because the play offs are too short.

The other league is the English Premier League which contains teams only from England

This league has 12 teams in the game but I think 2 of the teams are not in the league in real life any more - Telford Tigers taking a year off and Wightlink Warriors who have dropped to ENL. Wightlink maybe a good challenge as they were traditionally the small team in that league and there were challenges to start off with them and work you way up to an NHL job. Manchester and Basingstoke should be strong teams from playing in Elite league recently and Guildford ahve always been a big team in that league.

I've just been fired in my latest game after playing for 3 seasons... First time I've been fired while having a record above .500...

I think I might try managing an OHL team next time to try something new.

Hey!

I'm in my second season as the Coyotes GM. Using the Lidas 2.0 rosters. First season I finished in 10th, and just 4 points out of a playoff spot. It was disappointing so I made some trades during the off-season and signed a couple of free agents.

In my second season I finished in 7th. Some trades I made during the season were. Mueller for Cammalari. Mueller was set to become a free agent and I don't think he was interested in a signing a new contract. So when Montreal offered me this trade I took advantage of it. Eliminated the Red Wings, Flames and Blackhawks in the Playoffs. Now I'm in the finals against the New York Islanders. Al Montoya basically took over near the end of the season to get me all the way here, because Bryzgalav got injured. My Lines are:

Huselius - Cammalleri - Doan
Michalek - Zajac - Pahlsson
McClement - Sheppard - Satan
Banham - Nikulin - Guerin

Jovanovski - Aucoin
Yandle - Komisarek
Lepsito - Gilroy

Grabovski is a healthy scratch for the first game. I traded Bodker as well, just for the simple fact he wouldn't crack my roster and I got a pretty good return for him. I still have Turris, Tikinhonov and acquired Wayne Simmonds and they all make periodic call ups. As well as Oliver Ekman - Larsson and Maxsim Goncharov.

I will post an update after I finish the playoffs.

No problem I have had a nice Christmas thanks hope you did too. I do need to stop getting distracted and do more study for exams next month. Still decent amount of time so when it gets close I will be at it longer than Chris Chelious. Fair to say I have suspended EHM operations for next month.

yeah I have actually. He sucks playing on the wing I find. He is more complete as a Center for some odd reason.

I didn't know that. I've always have him on LW and he haven't been very good, maybe 50 points/season. Thanks for info

So, started a new Red Wings-game with Lidas 2.1. rosters. Finished the season in 1st, winning the Presidents Trophy. Ended up with 115 points. 53-23-3 season, with 341-255 in GF/GA. Was not happy at all with the goaltending during the season, but it really picked up in the playoffs.

In the regular season Osgood posted: 36-12-2, 3,00(GAA) - 0,890(SV%)
In the playoffs Osgood posted: 15-4-0, 2,15(GAA) - 0,923(SV%)
In the regular season Howard posted: 20-11-1, 3,17(GAA) - 0,875(SV%)
In the playoffs Howard posted: 1-1-0, 2,44(GAA) - 0,904(SV%)

Zetterberg ended up with 116 points, tied with Kovalchuk for the scoring title.

First round vs. Columbus Blue Jackets : 4-1,2-4,6-3,2-0,1-2,4-2

In the second round I had to play Vancouver Canucks. A team who had a 3-0-1 record against me during the season. Winning those three games 10-0(!),5-2,5-3 and one in OT. Now in the playoffs, Osgood stood up! I kicked their ass 5-2,3-0,4-2,2-1.

Then I faced the second best club in the nation. Anaheim Ducks. Surprising SWEEP! 4-3OT,6-1,4-3,5-1.

Stanley Cup finals! vs...Florida Panthers(?!!...What the Dickens?!). They had gone 12-0 before the finals, from 7th seed!

3-4, 6-5OT, 3-5, 4-2, 5-3, 3-4OT, 3-1!

YES!

My most used lines:

Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmström
Bertuzzi-Filppula-Franzen
Leino-Helm-Cleary
Maltby-Draper-May

Lidström-Rafalski
Stuart-Kronwall
Lilja-Ericsson

Osgood
Howard

I'm also the Grand Rapids Griffins, posting a 65-12-3 season and winning the Calder Cup!

Lines:

Abdelkader-McGrath-Tatar
Mursak/Emmerton-Oulahen-Tardif
Vigilante-Newbury-Emmerton/Mursak
Miller-Ritola-McCarthy

Kindl-Pyett/Hjalmarsson
