All goalies are missing 13-14 stats. I do believe they will be updated in next release.

If you set Pat Cortina as a head coach for Team Germany, please keep in mind that his contract will expire on May 31, 2015 (and has not been renewed due to the bad results at WC)

Minor thing. Andrei Vasilevskiy's name is spelled wrong in the game. The end of his name is skiy not sky. Only realized this when i tried to make a face for him and it wasn't showing up.

One thing that should be tweaked for the next roster update is that no players or at least few players should be injured to start off the season. Whenever i start a new season many players are out due to surgery/injury when in reality they would be recovered by the start of the season usually. Every season i start for example Patrick Kane is always injured and doesn't return to his team for 3 months. I know that when they updated the rosters last time it was updated with current injuries however it's pointless to do that because the season starts in October of 2014 not when the game was last updated.

We need the injuries for the teams to be cap compliant.

If the injury really annoys you, you can delete it from the "extra_config" file (open with notepad) located in the database folder you're using.

Except...the two names have been traditionally translated the way they are here I believe. So since we use English names that is what we do to keep it right. Tretyak and Tretiak can still have the other's names put into the slot for friends or staff liked as they are spelled. Provided they actually do like each other.

Hi Syrjis

I see you've posted a couple long lists of "needed changes" recently and it got me wondering...did you join the Research Team?
When you first posted a long list, I thought the end result was you joined the Research Team (based on the posts below)
If you haven't joined the Research Team and you're interested please contact Archi or Manimal

1) Next time save some time for yourself and avoid researching/adding info for retired players. If you find players who should be retired, just write that he is retired, we're not going to update retired players, just retire them.
2) We know about histories, actually you can join our history project, I'll wait for Archi for the details.
Ok. Wasn't sure what the deal was with retired players.
archibalduk wrote:Great post Syrjis!

Let me know if you're interested in helping update the histories and I will add you to our Research Forum.
I can help.
I ask because there's a much better way to do things than the way you are!
To really help it would be hugely beneficial if you would use the EHM Updater to do the work you are doing
as it will allow everything you do to be updated in seconds! Otherwise someone needs to input everything you've done, entry by entry (and thus two people are doing the same work/it's not really faster)...and being part of the team would ensure efforts aren't duplicated

If you don't know about the Updater, it allows researchers to use spreadsheets to compile the needed changes, and then the work can be sent to Manimal/Archi for inputting into the database (and it inputs the changes in seconds! plus it gives explanatory error reports if necessary)

Here's a link to the EHM Updater http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... it=updater
You can export data from the database.
To import changes/edits, you can not use the spreadsheets of exported data, you have to use the "templates" for importing data.
To get the needed templates open the Updater and click on "Spreadsheet" at the top of the screen, and then click on "Create Spreadsheet Templates"

Regards :-)

Erik Foley seems to be quite well ranked in regards to this years draft.
If he has been reported on previously, then I apologise.

Jokerit Helsinki? Heresy!

To be honest, some of those names sound very clumsy, namely the ones with "Region" in the end. Presumably KHL website has named the teams with the formula [Team Name] [Location], which, should TBL rosters adopt the naming convention in KHL, would raise questions about the name formatting regarding teams in other leagues.

Language and translation issues will always be issues in EHM. Especially for player names and team names. But since the great majority of users speak English, we should be using the English language translations of names for the game. Now I am not saying "great majority" Speak English as first language, or are perfect in it....just saying...it makes life much easier to have the names in English since we can all at least speak it a little, and understand it a little.

Translations will vary. However, unless you are on the research team....and are contributing to the game we will be going with what the majority of researchers want.

Well, apologize for Jokerit (it's really "Helsingin Jokerit"), but for Russian teams the names above are correct.
For example, the full official name of Metallurg Mg is HC "Metallurg" (Magnitogorsk) (HC means Hockey Club). In ordinary life everybody use "Metallurg Magnitogorsk" . Using of location in the names of teams is neccessary, because there are several, for example, "Metallurg" or "Dinamo" teams. It's historical fact.
For short names of teams my post above is right, for full names it's neccessary to add "HC" for some teams (there are several variants of translation into English). Examples are below.
Teams:
HC "Dinamo-Minsk"
HC "Dinamo" Riga
Helsingin Jokerit (but official site tells another :-) http://www.jokerit.com/)
KHL Medveščak
HC SKA
HC Slovan Bratislava
HC Vityaz Moskovskaya oblast (Moskovskaya oblast=Moscow region)
HC Dynamo Moscow
HC Lokomotiv
Severstal Cherepovets
HC Sochi
Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod
HC CSKA Moscow
Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg
HC Ak Bars
HC Lada Togliatti
Metallurg Magnitogorsk
HC Neftekhimik
Traktor Ice Hockey Club
HC Ugra
HC Admiral
HC Amur
Barys HC
HC Avangard
Metallurg Novokuznetsk
HC Salavat Yulaev
HC Sibir Novosibirsk Oblast

I think, it's better to use KHL version of names, 'cause the most of names, which I suggested, is using now by TBL Rosters in short (league standings) and full variants (team window). But maybe someone else know more how to translate them correctly.

P.S. Jokerit Helsinki ;)

P.P.S. Sorry for my English, guys. I had no practice for a long time. :-)

The official name of the club is Jokerit. Neither Jokerit Helsinki or Helsingin Jokerit, just Jokerit. However, having a high-profile club like them feature in the game with just a single-word name would appear a bit comical. And since "Helsingin Jokerit" sounds much better and more natural from a Finnish perspective than "Jokerit Helsinki", 'tis occasionally referred to as "Helsingin Jokerit" by both media and the fans, despite the formal name.
