Yup. I've had it a few times. You offer a qualifying contract and the player doesn't accept. If they're arbitration eligible (I forget the requirements) after they leave the team on July 1st, you get the arbitration message sometime later. You'll get a news item saying what the arbitrator decided and you have the option of accepting or not.axwel3221 wrote:Hey, anyone had salary arbitration with any players?

Yupp, almost at least, Grebeshkov didn't want to resign due to unhappiness. But after his contract went out he wanted to sign again. I had no salary space for him at the moment so he wanted to go to arbitation altough I signed him before that.axwel3221 wrote:Hey, anyone had salary arbitration with any players?

But when I signed the player before arbitration, (was a Calder cup winner 3 years before now) there were no arbitration. Oh, well, nice to find out that though.bruins72 wrote:Yup. If you agree before the arbitation it's cancelled. The first message comes in the beginning of the summer and the arbitation takes place in August I think.axwel3221 wrote:But when I signed the player before arbitration, (was a Calder cup winner 3 years before now) there were no arbitration.
