You can do so now!

You can use the EHM Updater http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 10&t=11154 to edit the EHM07 version of the database http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... hp?t=16246 and then you import the database into the new EHM

There's lots you can edit, and you can create players (that's how the TBL database is created, and how retro databases like the 1974/1998 databases were created)

When getting a trade proposal including draft picks I would like to see which team originally owned the draft pick in play, without having to go to the trade screen. When you have multiple offers (when you offer a player to all for example) you could compare the offers more easily.

I don't understand...the first link is the editor, you have to download it, and there's a PDF that explains how it works that comes with the editor when you download it; the second link is the database (that you have to download to edit)

You'd use a staff_new file to create/add new players, and the attribute_update file if you want to add Attributes

EDIT: Of course, there would also need to be an earlier start date. In conjunction with that earlier start date, I'd love to be able to start the game before the draft. Maybe it could show us the player's current attributes (removing the "fog of war") and a basic scouting report. Maybe allow us to choose a position that we're especially interested in and we could get a more detailed scouting report for ranked players of that position. It could also get the scouting reports "wrong" for some of these players, depending on the team's initial scouting staff. The way I figure it is that the team would already have their current scouts watching these players, so a new GM would have scouting reports. Plus, teams would have access to ISS reports and some of the other agencies that publish reports.

I'm guessing this last bit would be a lot of additional programming but I bet a lot of people would really enjoy being able to draft for their team before starting their first season.

To piggyback, I'd like to see the option of a start date just before the draft. July 1 is nice, but none of the databases are setup for that as far as I know.

To those wanting to do an expansion draft NOW, and not wait... General Fanager has a nice tool I may have spent, uhhhh, a lot of time on when I first discovered it:

As an aside, if this is added to the game, IMHO it would only make sense to me to (eventually at least) include the various expansion draft rulesets with it, the ability to enable or disable it before starting a game and choose the team or teams drafting. Maybe a string or three can be included in a config file to enable, select the ruleset, and select the teams. That way DB makers could have control over it when creating the DB, but the advanced users could still play around with it.

I'm thinking it'd be cool in particular for retro DB's, where you could enable the expansion draft with an older ruleset and draft for say someone like Nashville when they first came in... heck the rulesets themselves could be config files of sorts I guess that the game just parses, so the onus of creating them is on the user end.

I'm drooling over the possibilities for that in regards to challenges.

GeneralFanager is a great site to check out some salary questions that occur to me, the tool is really addictive once you try it out

Increasing/Decreasing Salary Cap from year to year would be awesome. More tactics options like different situations(off., def. and neutral zone), more tactic system choices. Having option to request to become team owner after a certain time period with the team( like 10 or 15 years), relocating a team from one city to another with the nhl approval, select the teams arena name and style, Team names and colours.

I like these ideas. In the old EHM you could change the salary cap in the config file, not sure about the new version though.

FYI - it's still the same (change as in EHM07 and import the database into the new EHM) & I think you can use the EHM Assistant to change the Salary Cap in a new EHM saved game (and maybe Archi's beta version Editor for the new EHM can change the Salary Cap too?)

It's worth noting that there's no salary inflation ingame, and the world-leagues financial system is not modeled (a huge coding task apparently) & so currently increasing the Salary Cap just makes it easier to sign players

I wish for upcoming new season, please update New Jersey Devils retired numbers. in game it only state 3 & 4 (both for daneyko and stevens). Pls add no. 27 (neidermeyer), and no. 30 (brodeur).

Secondly, I wish the game, we can signing staff for AHL team when we control NHL club. For example, as NHL GM we can find and sign GM/AGM/HC/AC for our AHL team. Its more realistic to get a better development for prospect in minor. like real.

Thirdly, Pls update minor NHL/AHL team staff member, I saw NHL devils Owner & AGM is not update. While coach and GM for albany also not update.

4th, Stadium name for albany also need to change to barnabas health centre. - the name for arena is times union, the barnabas is for training facilities.

5th, why in staff/personnel windows, as GM, our age is not available? pls update this.

6th, its regarding player who is Qualifying offer, if not sign he will sign for other teams outside the league, but the right should be expired when it comes to certain age if I not mistake.

I am glad you mentioned this one as it is a big improvement I would like to see in a future version of EHM.

oh, thanks mister for telling me about it..will forward this matter there.

I would like to add 1 more item i wish in the game, its regarding 'C' and 'A'. I like it same like Football Manager style when you can choose your captain and assistant captain before new season start, then the C and A will stay maintain all the way until the end of season.

If you change the C, media news will tell the world your team choose who like real life. If the C is someone fan/player fav, they all will happy, but when you demoted him, fan/player will angry. or something like that.

one more thing, i found out in tactic, when my captain is injured, the captain is change auto by game to someone else. It suppose not to happen. Captain should be same person even he in or out the roster because injured. pls fix this.

Apologize if anyone else has already posted anything similar (I know, I am lazy) ....

On the lead page, I would like to see the top right pane replaced with two or three small panes that can be used for any of the selectables the bottom small panes can be used on.

The number of small information panes on the lead page were reduced in EHM1. Personally I prefer more panes that allow me to dive in on key information and could care less about having a huge highlighted player pane. I would love to see that pane split up to give us the same number of actual information panes there were back in EHM'07. This would require opening the replacement panes up to other information.
