Think you're a good EHM GM? Our GM Challenges dare you to take over a team and make it a winner. The Challenge Forum and Centre are the hubs of our Challenges.
Just to let you know, I'll almost guarantee you that you'll have to restart that game. One of the rules effects something that pretty much everyone does when they first take over a team. So don't get too attached to that game.
To answer your question, yes you can sign your unsigned prospects at any time. I can't remember for sure but will a college play come over right away or will you have to wait if it's past a certain date? I don't remember.
Yeah, I always run one game before I actually run my challenge so I can see what I have to work with. The college player in question signed immediately.
We promised to keep the poll up for at least 10 days. I don't see enough votes coming in to change the results but we said we'd keep it open. Plus, there are a couple things that need to be set up to kick the challenge off and the people who can do that aren't available until Monday. So it's looking like Monday is the day. It's just a couple more days of waiting. It'll add to the excitement.
It was either the 30th or 31st of August, I'm not sure. BTW from what I counted to get to the required numbers in Bridgeport I believe we only need to sign one goaltender in Lidas's db. In previous games the only problem I have had is if their season has already started they will refuse to sign as anything less than a core player. Kids in junior are another story they will generally delay if you have already started the season, and everyone knows about Europeans. I did have one weird instance where Ilya Nikulin signed immediately (it was during training camp).
Maybe I was thinking of the kids in junior and their season already being underway. So it looks like college kids will join right away. Good to know. That might come in handy.
There are a few Nikulins in the db. Ilya is a defensive defenseman who was taken by Atlanta in the 2nd round of the 2004 draft IIRC. My scouts (and AGM) never rated him higher than a No. 7 d-man, but he put up solid numbers in 7+ seasons with me before he became a salary cap casualty. I hold him in high regard.
yeah he's not rated real high, but does his job well. Every other time I've tried to sign him even using the same db he had to go through the transfer window. There just must have been a glitch.
I don't remember it really saying, however I think its season 2. I remember something being said about them having to be on your AHL team for atleast a season.
AHL Team must have the right #s on it. I cannot recall saying anything about when you can or cannot deal em away. But lets say we follow our standards...Must keep em for a year. (One season)
Yeah, you can't go and trade them the same year you sign them. If you've got enough AHLers to fill out your roster (by signing your own prospects and your 2 young UFA signings for that year) and you want to use these guys in a trade, you can. Just make sure you've got your 2G/6D/12F on your AHL team.

Nope. There is nothing wrong with giving your Young UFAs that kind of deal. Those are the type of players that should be getting two-way deals. They're young enough to be considered prospects and they're making the league minimum. You're okay.
Is it ok to not have the 2/6/12 on the AHL team due to injury call-ups? A couple of my forwards went down, so I had to call up brouwer/comeau, and that leaves the farm with only 11 signed forwards. They will be sent down after the injured forward/s get back, so I figure that's alright.
