Whoops forgot. Nashville finished dead last for 2nd year in a row. They got Hall and they won the lottery again this season so will select first 2 years in a row. Ruh-roh

So I'm going to make my first trade in 1st offseason and I decided to trade O'Reilly. Now I can decide between Briere, Cammaleri or Franzen :-k What do you think? These are just cool options ;) I lean to Briere now :dunno:

I hope you won't make the trade between 15 July and 15 October, this is a no-trade period.

AIYYEEE> Not that it will affect much, but my game just crashed on July 1, while I was making offers. I had finished the Cup finals and saved, but now I will have to redo the draft. All the awards up top are subject to being changed now.

I really do not want to redo the draft. It is horrendous. Ugh. ](*,)

Actually one thing did change. Dallas won the lottery. But Nashville still picks first. However Dallas moved up a bit to 2nd. Dallas finished 26th and moved Montreal down to 3rd pick (they had taken the stud Nugent-Hopkins at 2nd last time), san Jose picks 4th now and St Louis 5th. INteresting to see if Ryan goes at 2nd still or if that changes.

I'm still struggling to make it through my second season. I've been busy and haven't had the chance to play in a few days.

And only less time ahead for you pal. When they are 6...you will be happier. Full time school. Glad mine are both there finally.

Anyway, year 2 stats are up with screenshots. I put in the one showing Wilson qualified because he is my one RFA left as Jul 1 rolls around. On July 4, get note saying rights expire.

You can see I have contract offer out to him.

What will happen if I lose him? Is there any compensation for the purpose of the challenge? Not much I could do as he refused to resign during the season due to a trade demand because wanted more ice time. I have offered him every penny he is asking for and we shall see what happens. Not really that concerned, but it does seem a bit silly to have this happen to a few guys.

At the very least, it is proof for Lidas to see he needs to work on this area for the next release. too bad, but not everything is perfect in life.

There's no penalty if you are able to sign him because you did give him a qualifying offer. If you can't re-sign him, I really can't give you any consolation.

We beat the Jackets in the semis in 7. Thought the Nucks are gonna kill us in the Conference finals but it was actually the other way round. Facing the Sabres in the Finals now...again.

After losing Stastny in mid-November we lost also O'Reilly for 4 months in Xmas. At that point I called Hensick up from Lake Erie and our centers were Duchene, Begin, Durno and Hensick. In some mysterious way both Hensick and especially Begin started looking pretty good in those positions and so, when Stastny came back from his injury in the beginning of January, I moved Duchene to 2nd line LW.

Stastny has now played five games after his injury and we have won 4 of them. All in all we are 6-1-1 in our last 8 games :joy: . It seems we are coming back (at least as long as Stastny stays healthy... I am actually considering to trade him away because he is so prone to injuries).

In those 5 games (actually in four games as we lost to Flames 2-0) Stastny has scored 2+4, +4 and his AvR is 8.20. Hensick has played now 8 games after his latest call-up and he has 5+1, -2 and AvR of 7.38. He isn't very consistent though, but in his good games he is impressive, scoring his points in only three games (2+0, 2+0 and 1+1). He also has been very good addition in 2nd PP line and has scored 4 of his goals and his only assist on PP. In his last eight games Begin, after being promoted to 2nd line center and getting PP time too, has scored 5+6, +3 and his AvR is 7.75. His PP producing isn't as impressive as Hensick's, but 1+3 isn't that bad either.

After all, I shouldn't complain about some single (or nearly single) injuries. It just came news that Tampa had put Tucker on re-entry waivers and called him up from Norfolk. I looked if he has started to play at last, but found out instead that they got 8 players on IR. They all got only flu (only, if Lidas hasn't been able to update the flus also :-D ), but anyway. Btw, it crossed my mind that when it is possible to get a contagion inside a team, is it possible to get one also in a game against a team with a flu epidemic? Well, I may find that out myself, as we played against them just 6 days ago and they were all fine then.

Of course not :) The trade was confirmed 3 July 2007. Out: O'Reilly, In: Cammalleri+Chipchura :joy:
I let O'Reilly with me last season, he played 27 games with Avalanche (Av R 6.8) and 49 with Charlotte (Av R 9.2). As he is not capable to play in my first team now I wanted to try someone new and start winning :dunno: Who knows how far I'll get in this challenge, I playing very slowly this time.

It just means that they don't think he's talented enough to still be with the team at his age. It doesn't really mean anything. You can keep him if you want.

Started the game this morning, tweaked my lines and tactics for 10 minutes and it worked, we won game 7 3-1, Buffalo's lead was quickly erased by Svatos and Vermette, Quincey added one early in the second period and I just shut it down from that point on. The Wolski, Svatos, Stastny line came 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Conn Smythe voting :D
Anderson came in third for the Vezina and won the Jennings with Budaj coming in second.
Draft went well, I don't see any future hall of famers but I can definitely see all 7 picks have decent NHL careers, even my 7th round pick is projected to be a Jamie Langenbrunner type of player with 3rd line potential, and my 5th rounder apparently is "like Alex Semin"...though the other scouts say poor man's Cogliano :D
I signed Ortmeyer and Hinote in the offseason for 500k each...truculence. :fight: I used my trade to acquire Josh Gorges from the Yotes for TJ Galiardi who was just rubbish for Lake Erie. The Yotes even threw in Jared Staal but he seems to suck. Washington has accepted Green for Hejduk and Galiardi but of course Hejduk wouldn't waive his NTC...and I didn't want to go the cheap route around NTCs. I have also re-signed all RFAs. I hope Durno, Hensick and Jones make it through waivers.

I worked so hard on a trade. I just could not pull the trigger.

With Detroit: I had a deal in place and accepted: Budaj and O'Reilly for Kronwall and Begin. I just did not want to trade O'Reilly since so many have.

With Tampa: Budaj and Salei for Meszaros and Helenius(G). Did not pull trigger again, as I just did not want Helenius.

With Nashville: Budaj and Salei for Suter and a third liner winger. Again did not pull trigger because I did not want the winger.

After all of that: Salei retired because of some phantom injury that was recurring. Yet...he never ever had an injury with me. Aiyee.

Anyway...I tried to get a couple guys in FA: Phillips(would have been tier 1), Gauthier, and a couple others I tried to lowball tier two...but got noone. Not really surprised.

So now I save my trade and go waivers again..on to season 3.

I hated the draft. I got one guy I know..Ty Rattie (with Portland in real life, dealt to Kelowna in game) and I know in real life he is gonna be a player. In the game...he might be.

Drat! I just lost Willsie on waivers. Season 3 is harder. Too many guys and have to make some moves to lose some. Should have made a 2 for 1 deal.

Season four is becoming a real treat. I especially love the six games in nine nights stretch just before the Olympic break, losing a three-in-three stretch with Quincey, Hejduk and Svatos on the shelf. This quickly made me realize that, without a strong backup in net, I would be going nowhere fast down the stretch.

So...I shipped D Kevin Shattenkirk (6-13-19, -9, 7.52AvR) and LW Cody McLeod (10-8-18, -5, 6.75 AvR) to Minnesota for RW Scottie Upshall and G Josh Harding.

Harding is a major improvement over Tyler Weiman (4-13-0, 4.20 GAA), who has had stretches of OK play, but has struggled of late and the offense seems to sputter in front of him. Upshall was a throw in, the best second player I could get to even out the deal.

The second season is over and I believe that the team improved even though we got the same amount of points as last year - 115. The goal difference went up from +64 to +91, both more goals scored and less goals against. But we had a diffiuclities to secure the wins in over time and on shootouts as we did last year!

Both new players Bouwmeester (trade for Tucker and O´Reilly) and Primeau (UFA) had realy good years and made this team much more solid.

The lines for this was as followed.

Wolski(117p 49G 82Gp 8.46)-Stastny (113p 34G 82GP 8.99)-Svatos (104p 47G 82GP 7.84)
Quincey(46p 78GP 8.13)-Duchene(75p 77GP 8.26)-Hejduk (69p 77GP 7.43)
Durno(20p 82GP 7.02)-Primeau(46p 82Gp 8.55)-Stewart (36p 82GP 7.63)
McLeod(12p 75GP 6.65)-Hensick(45p 79GP 6.89)-Willsie (7p 73GP 6.49)
(Koci - 1p 23GP 6.43)

Clark (38p 82GP 7.74) - Hannan (30p 82GP 8.55)
Liles (37p 81GP 7.42) - Bouwmeester (43p 79GP 8.62)
Salei (19p 68GP 7.09) - Pressing (11p 81GP 7.33)
(Wilson - 6p 15GP 7.67)

Anderson
Budaj

One the prospect side 3 guys are one the border for roster spots in NHL.

- Juraj Valach (4th round pick 2007)- a big defender that I have trained for LW that have a good shoot and good stick skills. Had a 59 p in 59 GP 8.02 at Lake Erie last year.
- Kevin Shattenkirk - a playing defender that had 51 p in 76 GP 8.34 at Lake Erie last season. He will get a some playing time this year in NHL.
- Henrik Eriksson - 56p 79GP 8.58 at Erie last season, he was drafted as 5th round pick 2007, he will still be at Erie this season but looks like he could be ready for some big action soon. He is a good tackler and mentally strong, looks like a promising 4th liner.

This years UFA didn´t happen, non of the players that I made offers for showed any intrest and I ended up with getting Ortmeyer by wvrs. My trade was also made as I sent Liles and Salei to Coyotes for White and Hollweg.

The line this year will be:

Wolski-Stastny -Svatos
Quincey-Duchene-Hejduk
Hollweg-Primeau-Ortmeyer
Valach-Hensick-Stewart
(Stoa - Durno)

Clark - Hannan
White - Bouwmeester
Shattenkirk - Pressing
(Wilson)

Anderson
Budaj
