I am one seriously hands-on GM, dude. 8-)

Perhaps 84 hours is a bit high. Based on the last time I played, I can get a draft and 2 weeks of EHM CALENDAR games done done in around 2h. So approx. 5h to complete one month. A season is 12 months (1 July --> 30 Jun), so 60 hours, give or take a few.

Maybe that's life, but judging by other comments, obviously something is chewing up my resources and slowing down the game, particularly at the end-of-day whatever-it's-doing. Moving on to the next day takes forever. That's where the delay is. So what is happening at the end of the day? Is there a way to streamline / optimize whatever that is? Does my HD need a defrag or something?

Maybe someone else can answer, but I don't know what to say because for me it's not a problem; you noted " I click "CONTINUE" and it's a solid 30-60 seconds before the next day is ready to go" as a problem, but for me that's not to long to wait

It is more likely that when I read, earlier in this thread, that someone could get a season simmed in 15 minutes, I developed unrealistic expectations. Perhaps a 30-team NHL league is just going to take as long as it takes, and there won't be much I can do to noticeably speed it up.

Besides, how can I complain when the Leafs just drafted Auston Matthews? It's a great day!!

I rarely sim an entire season as I prefer to be much more hands-on (like you). In the past, however, when I have simmed an entire season with all leagues enhanced, full database, etc. it took me around 15-20 minutes to do so. I walked away from my computer while it was simming and did other stuff.

I wouldn't worry too much about it if I was you, just enjoy the game however you want. The day-to-day activities in EHM have always taken longer than most other sports sims I have played, but I think a lot of that is because I play out every day, 365 days per year.

Thanks, Nino, for the help.

As soon as I qualify to send PMs, I'll write back!

In the meantime, how do I qualify to send PMs? Does an administrator have to grant permission or something?

There's a minimum post count of 35 posts. Usually exceptions are given to rosters researchers.

Fair enough, though I would like to be able to respond to Nino33, although perhaps it's a bit late for that now. Hope he comes back.

Thank you for the info, Tasku.

I'm playing an old save and are in 2024 now. I just noticed the World Cup was playing and the reason was obvious why I wasn't aware it was on as results popped into my inbox. There are only players from the Euro leagues playing, no one from the NHL. Can someone say if the lastest patch only affected old saves or are new saves affected too?

There is definitely a bug whereby background games are not being played in random years. I started a new game and just had a draft where none of the ranked players had played a single game that year. It's game breaking for sure. Losing development time. Reminds me of the 07 days when we had the decreasing attribute bug. I've reported it at SI and apparently others are experiencing it as well. If any of you notice it in your games please head over to the SI forums and upload your saves in the thread. Cheers.

Anyone else having issues with TOI for their defensive pairings messing up condition?
I've got Defensive usage and PP usage set to "equal" and even removed my 1st line D from Penalty kill, but they still play 30+ minutes every game, often as much as 35! I'm having to rest them after every game as their condition plummets. ](*,)
My second line is on PP and PK but still plays only 20 minutes. All are on the same practice schedule, but it doesn't matter if I change this it's the ice time that's killing them. This can't be as designed???

lemming3k, iirc the sim settings matter a lot, especially for d-men stats. If you set it to "quick" then you get a lot of weird results. So at least for the league you are playing in you may want to use something else even if it takes a few seconds longer to sim each game.

I hope that SI fix the coach motivation bug soon. Almost every coach has a '1' motivation rating when a new game is started, and it's almost game-breaking. Prospects won't develop, teams lose games heavily etc.

Is anyone else unable to get hired onto any national team? I started as a Hall of Famer and have won the Cup 6 times while posting a total record of 445-151-81 and literally no one will hire me for any sort of national duty anywhere. I'd like to be able to represent a team on the International stage, but the game won't let me. Is this just specific to me, or is this a common bug people are running into?

Trade AI is kicking me in the nuts... Trying to offload a player and when he is benched for two games in a row nobody wants him because "he's not getting ice-time"

I don't know if this is a bug but my OHL draft happened when the finale wasn't even over. I didn't noticed if it was like that with my first draft and my knowledge of junior hockey isn't good enough to know if this is normal or not. :D

It is normal in the OHL. Happens in real life as well.
IRL, the new draftees doesn't get included on the player protection list but I think they do in the game so you need to manage closely

Just had my WHL draft and I'm over 50 players (roster + unsigned).

I have a small question, can you find a job pretty well now even if you start with the lower reputation and without a job or it's still problematic?

My current game I started unemployed and I found something in january/february IIRC. My reputation wasn't the lowest though. I picked junior player I think so it's not the highest either.

No sure if this is a bug but I was looking at a game that Stamkos played and noticed he had a 4 point night yet was a 0 in plus minus. I assumed the other team must have scored quite a few goals but Stamkos's team won 5-2. So at worse he should have been a +2 if he had been on the ice for both opposition goals.

You do not get +/- when on PP/PK
